Chapter 155 God War (Part 2)

This was the second time Peter had tricked Anansi with this hammer blow, sending him flying. This time, Anansi, struck again, didn't get a chance to catch his breath, because Peter immediately used Thor's hammer to smash him in the chest, and then hammer after hammer, each blow aimed at his head.

Ultimately, Peter was able to deceive Anansi because Peter explained that the so-called bet was a "story," and stories need to be logical; naturally, they can also fool the other party through logic. If it were a pure lie, then Anansi would have had much more room to fabricate stories.

"Eighty! Eighty!"

Another hammer blow landed on Anansi's head, leaving him dazed and confused. But Anansi was unharmed except for a few minor scrapes. He smiled as Peter continued to hammer him, taking each blow to his face.

Peter stopped his attack and used lightning to cover the entire mountain peak that Anansi had smashed. Then, the Anansi that he had been relentlessly beating gradually disappeared, and the real Anansi, who had only rested for a minute or two, sat to the side and looked at Peter.

"Don't you get tired? Hammering it over and over again with that broken hammer."

Peter looked at Anansi and asked, "And you, don't you find using illusions boring? I can always spot them anyway."

Anansi laughed. He stretched his limbs. It was clear that neither of them could defeat the other. Anansi understood that the young man before him had a strong enough will, so this battle would definitely end with him leaving.

However, even though Anansi knew the inevitable outcome, it didn't mean he was willing to leave like this. Even if he couldn't kill Peter Parker, who wielded Thor's hammer, he could still teach him a lesson.

“You know how… outstanding we are compared to our own kind. When you become a spider totem, the power you gain is almost unimaginable.” Anansi smiled. “But there’s one difference: you are human.”

"And I was born a god."

He charged at Peter, who swung Thor's hammer to meet him head-on. Peter struck the phantom again, then his back was caught in a spider web. Anansi swung him around several times in mid-air before throwing him away. Before Peter could react, Anansi had already rushed up and pinned Peter's face down.

"You're just a Spider-Man among mortals, while I'm Spider-Man among the gods!"

The two flew swiftly across the sky above Hammerfall once again, heading towards the mountains on the other side. Hawkeye cursed under his breath, dug Deadpool out of the house, and then roared, "We have to go help!"

"Are you serious? That's clearly a fight that the two of us can't get involved in." Deadpool, who had crawled out, looked at Hawkeye: "Don't worry, Spider-Man never disappoints. After all, everyone makes money off him."

"Who would take their most profitable IP and squander it while simultaneously paying out of pocket to others, right?"

"I don't care about that! I only care that an Avenger is being attacked!"

Hawkeye roared, pointing at the Fantastic Four flying car strapped to the back of the Spider-Man. This thing originally belonged to the Hulk gang, but after taking them down, Hawkeye brought it back for a simple reason: it could fly. Deadpool stared at the flying car for a moment, then slapped his thigh: "A flying car? Forget it, I'll drive. Colonel Sanders, you just need to shoot, the more the better, try to kill with one shot!"

“I’ve lived for seventy years and never made a mistake.” Hawkeye rolled over and got into the passenger seat. “So having only one daughter is definitely not my problem.”

As they were talking, Eagle Eye saw Ashley wearing his grandfather's old uniform, but without a mask. He was stunned and yelled, "You little brat, what are you doing?"

"So that my bastard father won't look down on me for the rest of his life."

Ashley retorted as she climbed onto the car, which was already hovering in mid-air, and patted Deadpool on the shoulder: "Uncle, drive."

"Alright, I have a line I absolutely have to say here, for our brave hearts." Deadpool took a deep breath, then slammed his flying car into the sky, roaring, "Freedom—!"

Peter doesn't feel free now.

Anansi had rubbed his face across the entire mountainside, carving a trench four or five meters deep into the mountainside. If Venom hadn't reacted quickly and slapped Anansi away, Peter would probably have been crushed for a while longer. He threw his hammer at Anansi, unleashing countless bolts of lightning in the process to eliminate any possibility of illusions.

However, Anansi did not dodge Thor's hammer from a distance, because he stood right next to Peter. The moment Thor's hammer flew over, he revealed his true form, then shot out spider silk from his wrist, stuck it to Peter's chest, pulled him over, and punched him away.

"Who do you think you are now? You're not Thor! You're Spider-Man!" Anansi rubbed his fists together, reached behind him without looking up, caught the hammer that Peter had summoned back, and then slammed it to the ground. Spider webs shot from his wrists, sticking Thor's hammer to the ground.

"You should know, I'm quite happy. As a mortal who has deceived the God of Lies twice, you're quite impressive. You've also found something that can rival me, but you are not Thor after all, and not all Thors can match me. The power of the gods depends on the strength of the reality they inhabit. The reason you can contend with me is because you come from the most powerful reality, Universe 616."

He walked over to Peter, grabbed the tentacles that Venom had extended, and then ripped off a portion of the Venom.

“You win, child. I can’t kill you, nor can I bring this world under the Legion’s control, or change your life.” Anansi said, raising his fist. “But I’ll show you how badly you can lose when you offend a god.”

Peter tried to stand up, but Anansi punched him to the ground. Then Anansi was about to throw a second punch when he sensed an arrow flying rapidly from behind him. He simply fired a spider silk to block it.

However, Hawkeye's arrow grazed the spider web and struck Anansi directly, causing no damage. Instead, it emitted a flash of light, and as Anansi threw a punch, he began to shrink infinitely.

"The last Pym Particle Arrow was originally intended for Astra." Eagle looked at Peter lying on the ground and laughed: "You got off easy, kid."
