Chapter 138 I am Spider-Man, you are Venom
Light, memory, brightness.

The black symbiote spread silently. Generally, each time it came into contact with a new host, it would share their memories and learn about their past. But this time was different. The mind of the host in the strange clothes before it seemed to be protected by something.

That looked like a giant... spider?
The symbiote didn't think much of it; it simply continued to spread and cover the host's entire body according to its own habits.

I know you have your own thoughts.

The symbiote was startled; it didn't know why its host would say such a thing in its mind. Was it truly aware of what it was doing, or was it just talking to itself?

The symbiote remained silent, continuing its symbiotic state, pretending to be just an alien slime creature without any independent consciousness.

But the voice rang out again.

I know you're watching me. You are... a symbiote, at least that's what they call you.

?

The symbiote fell silent, its vision suddenly brightening as it transformed into the enormous, viscous giant that it had become after possessing someone else. Before it stood a small human, roughly half its own height.

This is the inner world of this short person.

He was wearing a red and blue bodysuit, but no hood, and he reached out his hand towards himself.

"Nice to meet you? I'm Peter Parker."

The symbiote narrowed its eyes, opened its mouth, revealing its sharp teeth, and then stuck out its tongue, licking its teeth.

Peter Parker seemed a little scared, but not particularly scared, which was strange.

The symbiote watched him in silence.

"Are you ok?"

Peter said, “You came here from another planet, with no one of your kind, and were captured and subjected to all sorts of experiments in a laboratory… This isn’t your world, you must be very scared, right?”

The symbiote remained silent, but it bent down and looked at Peter.

"No, we are not afraid of humans."

Aren't you afraid of being alone?

"..."

The symbiote fell silent. It thought back to when it came to this world with that meteorite, a pure, brand-new world, full of humans, with no other symbiotes besides the five of them.

It can be stubborn and say it's not afraid of human torment, but what about loneliness?

Suddenly, different images appeared around him; these were the memories of the little man, unlike those of others. This little man was helping his fellow human beings without seeking any reward.

“You want to save them.” The symbiote understood why Peter Parker had released him. It was simple: even if Peter didn’t talk to him, he could still do it after they became symbiotic.

But he wanted to talk to himself.

"I want to save them, and you can save them too. You...do you want to be a superhero?"

What is a superhero?
It didn't understand the concept, but it tried to comprehend it as much as possible by drawing on Peter Parker's memories and combining them with its own thinking.

Heroes are those who use their power to help and save others. I don't understand; symbiotes don't have that concept.

Superb, extraordinary, unique, amazing.

Its eyes lit up.

It was a very ordinary, even weak, member of its kind. It wasn't superhuman, but with the person in front of it, it could become superhuman. "If we save people together, we can become superheroes?"

Peter smiled and nodded: "Yes."

"Can I eat people's heads? Even if it's just the bad guys you mentioned."

“Uh…” Peter paused for a moment and then shook his head: “I don’t think it will work. It’s a bit too difficult for Earthlings to accept.”

“But I need phenylethylamine, lots and lots of phenylethylamine.” The symbiote set its price: “If I didn’t have a brain, I would need several times more chocolate.”

Okay, Tony Stark will buy it.

"Then it's settled?"

“One last thing.” The symbiote finally grasped Peter’s hand: “A name. I have no name, a unique, extraordinary name.”

"Dangerous spiders attack their opponents with venom. I am Spider-Man, and you are Venom."

All of this internal dialogue happened in just a few seconds. In those few seconds, the symbiote had already covered Spider-Man's body, but it did not take over his consciousness. Instead, it merged with his suit, becoming a pure black Spider-Man suit with only a white eye patch.

Explosions came from all directions. The top of the laboratory had collapsed and cracked, and the water of the Hudson River began to flow back down. Spider-Man, dressed in black, reached his hand into the crack at the top, watched by the others.

Instantly, enormous, black, gelatinous tentacles covered and supported the entire ceiling, while the symbiote filled the cracks, blocking the backflow of river water. Peter, supporting the entire laboratory, turned to Felicia: "Is everyone here?"

“There aren’t many left, only a dozen or so survivors, they should all be here.” Felicia looked at Peter, who was dressed in black: “Are you… alright?”

"Not bad, we've reached an agreement. I'm Spider-Man, and he's Venom."

The side wall of the laboratory also began to explode, and the wall was smashed towards this side. Peter stretched out his other hand, and the infinitely extending black claws deflected the debris. Then he shouted for everyone to come closer.

In the crowd, he naturally spotted the cloak, the dagger, and Mr. Negative, all unable to control their powers.

"After today's business is over, you'll need to come to Avengers Tower for a check-up. Don't worry, we won't charge you."

As Peter spoke, he shouted to those around him, "Is everyone here?! If everyone is here, remember to breathe later."

The symbiote extended continuously from behind him, quickly forming a huge sphere that enveloped all the survivors. Then he retracted his arm, and the entire laboratory began to collapse completely in the explosion.

The explosion created a wave above the Hudson River, and then people on both sides of the river saw black bio-tentacles shooting into the sky. These tentacles stuck to the banks and carried Spider-Man, Black Cat, and all the survivors from the riverbed to the shore.

Peter retracted all his tentacles. The venom on his body didn't have that obvious biological feel; instead, it felt like a smooth, black suit of armor.

“I’ve contacted the Avengers’ Quinjet; Jarvis will take you to Avengers Tower.” Peter said, taking out his phone to make arrangements while looking at Felicia. “I have to go help Matt and the others. Can you look after them?”

“Okay.” Felicia said, taking a step back and looking at Peter’s new uniform. “So… just a plain black outfit like this? No decorations at all?”

"Wait a moment, I think it should be available."

Peter first had Venom simulate the spiderweb pattern of the suit, just like the black suit in the movie, but he felt it was a bit strange, so he changed it to have huge white spider patterns on the front and back of the suit.

"How does it look?"

“It looks really cool,” Felicia laughed. “And it matches my uniform perfectly.”

"Oh... I hadn't thought of that."

Peter spoke as he backed away, watching the Quinjet land, and nodded to Felicia: "See you later, I'll get it done soon."
