Chapter 129 Lure the “snake” out of the hole

"So, our little experiment ultimately chose to become a superhero, madam?"

Dr. Koyama adjusted his glasses, looked at the report, and respectfully inquired of Ophelia, or rather, Lady Viper. Unlike Otto, Koyama was a member of Hydra, or rather, his organization, the Hand, had joined Hydra during World War II for its own purposes, becoming a tentacle of this massive organization in the East. He therefore knew very well just how powerful Hydra was.

As for Ophelia, he had seen the woman before him since he was a child, and even his father had seen her. It was said that Lady Viper had never aged since World War II. This woman possessed the secret to immortality, but that wasn't the point. What was more important was her position within Hydra. Due to her seniority and abilities, few people in Hydra had more influence than Ophelia.

"A naive idea."

"what?"

"They just want to get the attention of superheroes like the Avengers or the Fantastic Four, and then expose the matter," Ophelia answered Koyama's question. In her view, the other party posed no threat. "Keep your experiments going. How's the progress?"

"It's not good, but we have made some progress. Two people survived the preliminary experiments: a white girl named Tandy Bowen and a black man named Tyrone Johnson. They will survive the subsequent enhanced super-soldier serum."

strengthen?

Ophelia glanced at the hill and frowned: "Don't do anything unnecessary."

"Okay, ma'am."

"How much longer do you need?"

“Not long, madam, at most a week. If Hydra can hold off the Avengers for a week, everything will be fine.” Koyama said respectfully, without considering how troublesome it would be to “hold off the Avengers for a week.” Ophelia only glanced at him before asking, “What if we bring that guy back?”

"Um, oh, you mean..."

Looking at Luke Cage on the screen, who was saving people, Koyama smiled happily: "That will only take three or four days, madam."

"I will bring him back to you."

Luke Cage had no idea if his actions would be effective. He had been fighting all day as Wonder Man and seemed to have attracted media attention, but what about Hydra?

After knocking down a gangster, Luke seemed to want to vent his anger and let out a roar. Just then, he heard a familiar voice, a voice he didn't want to remember.

"Fugitive Carl Lucas has been located and is being pursued."

"Willis Stryker?!" Hearing that his former friend, the one who had framed him and landed him in jail, had appeared before him, Luke Cage turned around angrily. His former friend was now wearing a modified, high-grade riot armor suit and holding a dagger. The people around him were all wearing similar armor, each carrying a different weapon, and each had a different snake head projected onto their armor.

"Sorry, man. But your hero game is over. All of New York will know that you're not a superhero, but a criminal who escaped from prison after getting his powers."

Willis Stryker approached as he spoke, feigning an approachable demeanor: "You should do what I did and leave the gang early. I've joined Viper Security Group, codenamed Rattlesnake, and I'm a decent person now, doing a decent job. You should stay in prison until your sentence is over, and then come out and live an honest life."

Turning the tables. Driven by rage, Luke charged forward. With superhuman strength and invulnerable skin, what could possibly be a challenge for him?

Rattlesnake simply approached Luke Cage and brandished his dagger, which emitted violent vibrations and ear-piercing ultrasonic waves. Within a short time, Luke's eyes began to swell with blood, and he collapsed to the ground in agony. He gritted his teeth, chose to stand up, and then threw a punch at Rattlesnake in front of him.

Rattlesnake's dagger released a grayish-green venomous gas. Cage inhaled the gas, then coughed uncontrollably and collapsed to the ground. Rattlesnake looked helplessly at Cage lying on the ground, shrugged, and sheathed its weapon.

“Nerve gas, brother. It would probably be fatal to others, but for you it should only take a few minutes to lie there. Sorry, no weapon can penetrate your skin, so I'll have to use an inhalation method.”

Lying on the ground, Luke Cage felt as if his brain was being severely burned. He gritted his teeth and asked, word by word, "How do you know about my abilities?"

“The government hired us, Cage.” Rattlesnake finally broke into a smile. “What do you think?”

Is Viper Security also affiliated with Hydra?

Ignoring Cage's resentful glare, Rattlesnake called out to his companions behind him, "Alright, guys, get our guest in the car, and remember to check him for any tracking devices or anything..."

A sudden red figure descended from the sky, intervening in the conflict. Rattlesnake's pupils constricted drastically upon seeing the person before it.

Daredevil? Are you really him?

People always say that, and Daredevil himself is too tired to say it anymore: "I know you, Viper Security Company."

"We are fulfilling government contracts to assist in the arrest of dangerous criminals with superpowers."

“I know, so I didn’t stop you. On the contrary, I called the police for you in advance, so you don’t have to make another trip.”

"police?"

Upon hearing this news, the rattlesnake seemed struck dumb: "But..."

"What's wrong? Did the government contract give you the ability to detain and interrogate prisoners?" Daredevil's question left Rattlesnake speechless. After being rendered speechless, he reluctantly made a phone call to his boss. Then, hearing the police sirens behind him, he reluctantly agreed to Daredevil's request, instructing the other employees of Viper Security to make way for the police and watch as they led Luke Cage into the police car.

Rattlesnake had intended to ask Daredevil some questions, but when he turned around, Daredevil had vanished, making one wonder if he had never been there at all.

As we all know, the Viper Gang is a villainous group in the comics, but here they've been changed to a security company, just with a disguise.

The snake gang in the EMH animation looks very strange.
