Chapter 122 Who? The Green Goblin?

Norman Osborn was awakened from his light sleep by the company's highest-level alarm. He jolted out of bed, then looked bewildered upon hearing the report that Spider-Man's voiceprint had been detected.

"Green Goblin, connect me to the holographic projection in the gene editing lab."

Norman glanced at his fairly decent pajamas, rubbed his face, and then, still half-asleep, saw Spider-Man confronting a woman in a black suit inside the gene-editing lab.

"Hey, hello Norman. This friend of mine came into your lab, looks like he's going to investigate something, so I just followed him."

Norman was relieved to hear Spider-Man say that: "Thank you for protecting Osborn Technologies' property. Spider-Man, it's all yours now."

"Wait, Norman, uh..."

Norman looked at Spider-Man, then at the woman, and finally asked, "Why do I have the highest authorization from your lab?"

"Because you are me, and Dr. Richard's best work, we all trust you."

Norman gave a friendly smile and then yawned: "If it helps, talk to Green Goblin; he's my AI butler."

"Who? The Green Goblin?!"

The black cat, who had overheard the conversation, heard Spider-Man muttering, "Who would name their AI Green Goblin? That's so weird."

“Norman Osborn said you are his best work.”

Peter felt the coldness of her gaze and the re-emergence of his spider-like senses. He heard Felicia's almost icy question: "What do you mean?"

"It means... literally. I was bitten by an Osborn Tech genetically programmed spider and gained the ability."

"Human experiments?"

No, it was an accident.

That makes sense. Spider-Man is an Avenger, and his reaction just now showed he was unaware of these things. Black Cat breathed a sigh of relief, then looked at the rising doors. Inside the doors were all sorts of animals, mostly low-level arthropods, such as scorpions, spiders, centipedes, and even bees and butterflies. Peter raised an eyebrow. He had thought Osborn Technology would research all sorts of animals, but it seemed they were still fixated on arthropods.

I wonder if they've researched locusts; maybe they could create a Kamen Rider based on them.

Peter glanced around and saw Felicia still fiddling with something on the computer. He couldn't help but reach out and say, "I don't know what you're planning to do, ma'am, but you're undoubtedly breaking the law. Even if you think you're doing the right thing, you should at least give me a reason."

"I...no, it's nothing, it's none of your business."

Black Cat hesitated, but ultimately chose not to believe Spider-Man. She proceeded to investigate on her own and discovered that she couldn't delve deeper into the files. Not only did she lack the necessary permissions, but her hacking program had also failed, making it impossible for her to access the files.

So she raised her hands before Spider-Man could stick them together with his webs: "Can you let me go since I didn't actually do anything?"

"You broke a window."

Felicia: ...

"I can compensate you."

"So, you didn't find anything?"

Whether intentionally or not, Spider-Man started searching data right in front of Black Cat: "Let me see what you're looking for, the operational plan for Project Savage Force, the Sealed Notes..."

Peter saw a record, text taken by Jonathan Drew during the experiment. "The possibility of curing amyotrophic lateral sclerosis with gene editing technology - Jonathan Drew." Peter looked at Felicia with feigned ease: "It seems that Dr. Jonathan is in charge of the super soldier research and development in order to develop a treatment for ALS."

"ALS?"

Upon hearing this, the black cat pushed Peter aside, stood in front of the computer at the control panel, looked at the record, and involuntarily frowned, muttering to himself.

"How is this possible?"

"It seems you know Dr. Jonathan's family, and don't forget, you're essentially just wearing an eye patch."

Standing behind Black Cat, Peter placed his hand on the computer's touchscreen and began operating it, wanting to see what Black Cat was planning to do. Black Cat initially intended to leave, but when she saw Spider-Man searching for information she couldn't access due to insufficient permissions, she resisted the urge to leave and chose to continue watching.

After all, a black cat is still a cat, and cats are always full of curiosity.

She understood perfectly what Spider-Man meant; her identity could be exposed at any moment. But since Black Cat had chosen this disguise, it was inevitable and certain that her identity would be discovered.

In other words, she didn't really intend to hide her identity.

She saw Spider-Man delve into the system, open numerous files, and successfully discover some of the things Black Cat wanted to know.

But what Black Cat really wanted to know was one of the emails Spider-Man hadn't opened. She quickly tapped the email, and its contents soon made her feel like the sky was falling.

It was an empty folder, completely blank. Peter glanced at the document's title; it read "Progress Reports for Various Weapon Projects."

Various weapons programs?

Given that this is the research base for the Super Soldier project, these projects are likely all part of the Super Soldier project.

But why would Felicia be looking for these things?
"Is it related to your unusual physical condition? You want to find the person in charge of this project?"

Peter deduced about Black Cat's behavior and came to the conclusion that Black Cat was not inactive in Eastern Europe, but it wasn't targeting any wealth or treasures, but rather the Super Soldier project.

Did she go to Eastern Europe because of the Soviet Union's Super Soldier Serum program? Peter was increasingly confused about Black Cat's motives.

"I'm sorry, but the list of the Super Soldier project you wanted to investigate isn't here."

Hearing this, the black cat probably understood what Spider-Man was going to say next. After all, what could a superhero possibly say to a thief who had failed in his theft?

"But it's quite a coincidence that I recently met someone who escaped from prison. He suffered inhuman torture in prison, but he underwent super soldier modifications and gained superpowers."

Peter made the right bet.

Upon hearing this, Felicia, who was originally planning to leave, immediately turned back and stared at Peter.

"You just said that there was another survivor?"

The black cat stared at Peter and made its request.

"I want to see him."
