I'm working on Marvel's Spider-Man in American comics.
Chapter 107 Stay Vigilant!
Chapter 107 Stay Vigilant! (Seeking votes at the beginning of the month)
After receiving Strange's message, Peter chose to go to the Avengers immediately to report. He told Uncle Ben that he would be going home late that day, and then, while organizing his thoughts, he swam to Avengers Tower.
To his surprise, in addition to Captain America and Tony Stark, Black Panther T'Challa was also there.
“We’ve already gathered the general information from the video Jarvis sent back.” Tony rubbed his temples, instinctively disliking Dr. Strange. “I never knew Earth had a completely useless sorcerer protecting it. It’s a pity Thor isn’t here, otherwise I’d definitely ask this blond prince if he reported to… what’s his name? The Sorcerer Supreme when he entered the country.”
"The key now is that Loki's scepter and the other Infinity Stone are in the hands of S.H.I.E.L.D. And what happened today is enough to prove that S.H.I.E.L.D. is not trustworthy."
T'Challa's voice had a natural gentleness that was neither irritating nor unpleasant to hear. As a foreigner, he clearly pointed out the biggest problem exposed by the attack on Spider's family.
There's a major problem within S.H.I.E.L.D.; they can't even protect the safety of their own agents.
But Peter was also concerned about something else.
"Everyone, didn't you notice? The Cosmic Cube is one of the gems, so Loki brought the other gem with him, and he also brought an army."
Peter told them the most troublesome thing: "Someone is collecting these gems, and one of them is still on Earth."
Captain America and Tony exchanged a glance. This was exactly what they feared most: the possibility of another extraterrestrial invasion of Earth. If they viewed Loki's previous invasion as Loki's revenge, then Peter was now telling them another reason for an extraterrestrial invasion.
The captain looked at Tony, knowing exactly what Tony was planning, and answered directly: "Nick Fury will not hand over the scepter."
"But the truth is, Nick Fury has lost control of S.H.I.E.L.D., and it's not safe for the scepter to remain with S.H.I.E.L.D., Captain."
The captain sighed. He didn't argue that it would be safer to leave it with the Avengers, but just looked at Tony and said, "But we can't just go and steal it from S.H.I.E.L.D."
"Then we can steal it; that wouldn't be considered robbery, would it?"
"Tony..."
"Stop lecturing, Steve. This is about world security. We can't put all our eggs in one basket with this already broken S.H.I.E.L.D."
Tony Stark looked at the captain: "We have to take responsibility."
At this moment, Nick Fury was unaware that Tony had already set his sights on the Loki Scepter, which had yet to yield any results in its research. Back at headquarters in Washington, he was furious and began to...fuck.
"A Level 4 agent of S.H.I.E.L.D., her identity information is completely unprotected? Anyone can access her file and then kidnap her family? Are all the agents at S.H.I.E.L.D. incompetent?!"
Wearing an eyepatch, the black-haired man unleashed a torrent of abuse on all the S.H.I.E.L.D. agents, whether they were in person or participating in a video conference: "Last month, I was betting with the Russians that S.H.I.E.L.D. had even tighter security than your Lubyanka. Now we've become MI6, a place filled with KGB agents?"
"The agent in charge of the information has been held accountable."
An eighth-level agent spoke rather awkwardly, but Nick Fury just chuckled. Many might think this was a mistake, but Nick Fury was certain it wasn't; it was undoubtedly a serious information leak.
However, someone interrupted Nick Fury's continued outburst. He saw Alexander Pierce, the S.H.I.E.L.D. agent of the World Security Council standing outside the door, who was also his only direct superior.
"I'll deal with you later. Coulson, come to my office in a bit."
After finishing his speech, Nick Fury left the conference room and walked over to Pierce. Pierce put his arm around Fury's shoulder and they talked as they walked.
“I’ve heard about it, Nick. This isn’t normal; it’s not like a typical information leak, don’t you think?” “Me too, sir. The whole thing looks like someone gave it the green light.”
Despite being with his former boss and superior, Fury remained attentive. Pierce, however, patted him on the shoulder and asked, "Whose side do you think it is? Could it be the Russians?"
“Well…” Fury scratched his ear: “Since the collapse of the Soviet Union, the Russians haven’t been able to compete with us.”
While S.H.I.E.L.D. is nominally a UN agency, it is essentially an organization dominated by the US and spearheaded by the UK and France; naturally, the Russians wouldn't join. Theoretically, the Russians could indeed join, but the problem is, they lack the motive. Furthermore, if S.H.I.E.L.D. discovered this, their already limited intelligence network would suffer a significant blow.
Therefore, Nick Fury doesn't believe the Russians were responsible, though Alexander Pierce has a different opinion.
"I recently received intelligence that the Russians are planning to assemble a superpowered team to rival the Avengers. Not only the Russians, but also the University of Tokyo and the British are doing the same."
Nick Fury couldn't help but look troubled.
"But the Avengers are not under the jurisdiction of S.H.I.E.L.D., sir."
"This is what you need to do."
Pierce's stance was clear: "Bring the Avengers into S.H.I.E.L.D. and tell them that if they don't join S.H.I.E.L.D., they essentially have no law enforcement authority."
"Oh, and also, could we move that scorpion's detention location to S.H.I.E.L.D.? Maybe we can use someone like that."
Nick Fury frowned as he watched Pierce leave, eventually heading to his office where Coulson had been waiting for some time.
"Sir, you wanted to see me?"
"Do you think it's wise to replace Spider Silk's family with LMD as a precaution in case something happens?"
Coulson thought for a moment before realizing that Fury was indeed asking him. So he replied, "Perhaps it would be more appropriate to ask the person's wishes."
"What about Scorpion? Pierce seems to want to recruit him, saying we always need outlaws."
“Well…” Coulson shrugged helplessly, “We should ask the victims.”
Fury, who had passed the buck to Coulson for both questions, nodded and then asked one last question.
"Can you and your team take charge of investigating this matter?"
Coulson was about to agree when he suddenly remembered something.
“I’m afraid I can’t, sir. Spider-Man said he sensed Ward was in danger.”
Nick Fury turned around and stared at Coulson for a long time.
I'm asking for monthly votes at the beginning of the month. I hope everyone can help keep this book on the monthly vote chart!
Incidentally, I'll offer a book as a sacrifice.
