Chapter 19 Comfortable
Eric threw the spear in his hand to Annie, turned around, and there was a look in his eyes as if he was looking at a treasure.

This car is awesome!
"As expected of the West Canyon Police Department, which is close to the wealthy area, they're already acting so arrogant."

Eric patted the car body and waved to Annie who was standing there stupidly.

"Meet our new guy."

Seeing Annie approaching and her changing expression, Eric said seriously.

"Yes! Don't doubt me. Although this is just a car, it is indeed ours. This is our mobile studio and safe house, and it ensures our safety."

Aini said obediently, "Sir, I understand."

"Okay, follow me." Eric nodded and took Annie around the Ford Explorer patrol car.

"Attention! Police cars are not our private cars but the police department's cars. So every time you receive a police car, you must first check whether its appearance is damaged. Any cracks, scratches, dents, etc. must be registered.

Otherwise, if there are any mistakes or omissions, the consequences will be borne by you alone."

Eric opened the car door and let Annie in to check:
"Police cars are not fixed. Besides us, there will be other colleagues driving them, so we also have to check if the suspect has left anything behind, whether it's money, drugs, or even a pile of feces on his body. You have to record it."

These words made Annie hold her breath. She checked it, then stepped back, took the form handed to her by Eric, and registered.

Seeing Annie's expression, Eric didn't care at all. If she couldn't stand it, she might as well go home and be a rich lady.

He simply picked up the M870 shotgun on the roof of the car and threw it directly to Annie.

"You learned the shotgun safety inspection in the police academy, right? The pre-deployment inspection will give you a good understanding of the gun, which will be good for you."

Aini took a deep breath, grabbed the shotgun and began to examine it.

"Make sure the chamber is clean, clean it, load it, and fire."

Following Eric's words, Annie performed a series of operations step by step.

"Okay, instructor."

Eric reached out and took the M870 shotgun and said, "In the police station, you can call me instructor, but outside you have to call me sir."

Annie could only stand up and say again: "Yes, sir!"

Eric glanced at her, grabbed the bag and the M4 carbine from the roof of the car, and walked towards the trunk.

"Rookie, check your personal recorder and test whether it is working properly!"

"Yes! Sir!"

After hearing Annie's response, Eric threw the M4 carbine and related bags into the trunk with an expressionless face, and then closed it.

Seeing that Annie had finished the inspection and confirmed that there was no problem, Eric opened the driver's door.

"Get in the car!"

After Annie entered the car, Eric gestured to the internal computer in the middle.

"Log in to the computer."

Annie nodded and did as she was told, without any resistance throughout the process.

"Enter your police code and check if it has been connected to the police department's internal system."

"Test the police lights and sirens to see if they are functioning properly."

"Only the front doors of the car are bulletproof. The rest of the car is not bulletproof. So if that day ever comes, it's best to hide under the tires or rely on the engine."

"."

After everything was done, Eric looked at Annie, whose forehead was covered with a thin layer of sweat, reached out to turn on the air conditioner, and said as he looked at her expression of relief.

"Finally, examine yourself and make the necessary mental preparations."

Annie was stunned.

Eric looked out the front window, started the engine, and said, "Because you're about to patrol the streets armed with live ammunition and fight dangerous suspects. You have no idea what you're going to encounter."

These words were spoken calmly but with a hint of unease. Annie took a deep breath and subconsciously tensed her body.

"Don't panic, don't be afraid, otherwise you will be very tired."

Eric looked at her obviously tense body lines and raised the corners of his mouth slightly. "Rookie" is such a nice word. No wonder some colleagues like to bully rookies.

"No matter what happens, I will always be there to support you. If you can be more obedient, I will only die before you." Annie's face froze, and her whole body became even more tense. Looking at the relaxed Eric, she wondered in her heart, were these words of comfort?

Eric didn't care about Annie's feelings. He picked up the car intercom, looked at the various data on the police computer, and pressed the button.

"10-Adam (two-man patrol unit)-11, begin patrol."

The dispatch center called from the car: "Roger!"

Eric put down the walkie-talkie, glanced at Annie, then looked away and stepped on the accelerator.

"Start now and officially get to work!"

As soon as he finished speaking, the black and white Ford Explorer patrol car roared and drove forward as he took control.

The speed increased so rapidly that Annie was caught off guard and hit on the back.

Los Angeles is a large city, the second largest in the United States and the largest in the western United States. It is often referred to as the "City of Angels."

It is home to Hollywood, the world's film center, and is also one of the main bases of America's petrochemical, marine, aerospace and electronics industries.

It also has world-renowned higher education institutions such as California Institute of Technology.

The city has a total population of about four million, but the public security is actually average.

According to the Los Angeles Police Department, homicides have increased by 36.2% compared to last year, while shootings have risen by 41.4%.

"So I'm curious, why do you want to be a patrol officer?"

Eric drove a Ford Explorer patrol car along a street and looked at Annie.

Aini said, "Sir, do I need to answer this question?"

This girl seems to have quite a bit of personality, worthy of being the daughter of a wealthy family? Eric smiled.

"I'm just curious and want to hear your thoughts. After all, to others, including me, you're a very beautiful person, so why do you become a poor patrolman? I think there are more options besides patrolman."

But who would have thought that Annie would actually look at him and ask, "What about you? Sir, to me, you are also a very handsome man, so why do you want to be a patrolman? I believe you have more choices."

Very good, very characterful!

Eric slammed on the brakes! The inertia of the car made Annie rush forward. She subconsciously glanced out the window in panic, thinking something had happened.

But before she could finish reading, Eric's shout rang in her ears.

"I've been shot!"

"What!" Annie was stunned. She stared at Eric blankly, a trace of confusion on her face.

"Rookie! Tell me! What is your current location?" Eric looked serious and shouted at the confused Annie.

"I'm about to bleed to death now! You need to call for help!"

Annie understood now and instinctively wanted to tell the address here, because she knew this place.

But just as she was about to say it, Eric's shout continued.

"OK! I'm dead!"

"Wait! I, I know the address here," Annie explained subconsciously.

Eric calmly interrupted her and said, "This is all your fault. Get out of the car!"

Annie stared at Eric, her face filled with disbelief. Was this guy targeting her? Just because she had acted strangely?
"Now! Immediately! Get off the bus! Walk along with the bus! Find out where you are before you get back in!"

Seeing Eric finish his words with an expressionless face, Annie gritted her teeth in hatred. She hadn't realized it before and thought this guy was a good instructor all the way. Now she finally realized that this guy was quite sinister!

Eric asked, "What? On your first day at the police station, you didn't even listen to your superiors?"

"Yes! Sir!" she said through gritted teeth.

boom!
Annie got out of the car and closed the door expressionlessly under Eric's gaze.

“It seems quite comfortable!”

It was the first time for Eric to bully a rookie, and he actually found that his mood seemed to have become much more relaxed.
