Chapter 32 Meeting in a Ruined Temple

These ten people were obviously led by a female man. When Wu Chengyu just broke in, they immediately became alert, but when they saw that there were only two children, they relaxed a little.

Wu Chengyu hesitated at the door. The female man glared at him and said in a deep voice, "Come in, boy! The little girl got caught in the rain. She needs to warm herself by the fire. Otherwise, she'll catch a cold. I'm not a bad person."

After saying that, the female man forced a smile, and the fat on her face became more obvious, giving her the look of Li Kui shaving his beard to look like a lucky cat.

Wu Chengyu observed carefully and realized that these people must have killed people. Their temperament was always different after killing someone, but their eyes seemed to have no malice.

The most important thing is that Wu Chengyu has a very sharp intuition. When the coachman who suddenly wanted to rob money and kill people on the way had a bad idea, he immediately felt a warning in his heart, and the ten strong men in front of him did not give him the feeling that they had bad intentions.

Even so, Wu Chengyu should have kept his distance, but Ah Ku in his arms was now mostly soaked, and if he didn't warm himself by the fire, he would definitely catch a cold, and Wu Chengyu didn't have time to make another fire.

Wu Chengyu held Ah Ku in his arms and bowed slightly, saying, "We were in a hurry on our way and were caught in a heavy rain. We had no choice but to take shelter here for the night. I'm sorry to bother you all."

"No need to be polite. We are just two people from the Jianghu. We met on the road and I just wanted to do you a favor. My little brother has a child with him. I think he must have suffered a lot along the way."

The one who spoke was the only one who looked like a scholar. He was in his thirties, with five long wisps of beard and two double-headed pistols beside him.

Wu Chengyu didn't waste any words. Ah Ku's body was getting colder and colder. He carried Ah Ku to the fire and while warming himself by the fire, he slowly transferred his internal energy into Ah Ku's body.

The tomboy who called herself sister, whom Wu Chengyu actually wanted to call aunt, looked at A Ku in Wu Chengyu's arms and said.

"It was quite hot during the day, and now it's suddenly raining. The little girl is weak and can easily get sick. Where are your parents? Why aren't they with you?"

"My elders left for an urgent matter, so I hurried to Qingyuan Prefecture with my sister. We thought the journey wasn't far, but it suddenly started raining."

Wu Chengyu only spoke half of what he knew to others. He would never dare to tell others that he and A Ku were orphans, nor would he tell others that their destination was actually Gusu.

"This little brother is quite extraordinary, and his internal strength foundation is quite good." The man dressed as a scholar narrowed his eyes and immediately saw that Wu Chengyu was outputting his internal strength to A Ku.

Internal skills have always been scarce, and being able to transfer them into someone else's body further demonstrates that the internal strength has a very solid foundation.

There are not many martial arts heroes in the world who truly possess internal strength. Guo Jing's master, the Seven Freaks of Jiangnan, all practiced external martial arts. The fact that this person could see what Wu Chengyu was doing at least shows that he is also a master of internal strength.

"Really? I was wondering whose elders are so carefree. It turns out you are also from my generation. I don't know your full name. My surname is Niu, so you can just call me Sister Niu. The ones next to you are my brothers. This one's surname is Lu, so you can call him Brother Lu."

"My surname is Wu, and my martial arts are inherited from my family, which is nothing to brag about. I'd like to meet Sister Niu, Brother Lu, and all the brothers."

Wu Chengyu could become smooth at any time. When going out, safety was his first priority. He immediately tried to get closer to the other party. His childish appearance was very deceptive. After a few words, he made them smile and let down their guard, especially Sister Niu, whose face was shaking with laughter.

But Wu Chengyu also relaxed. These people really didn't look like bad people.

One of the others, named Yu, took out some pieces of meat, strung them with branches, and roasted them over the fire.

Perhaps it was because she felt her body getting warmer by the fire, or perhaps it was because of the nourishment of Wu Chengyu's internal energy, Ah Ku gradually woke up. However, Wu Chengyu believed that she was woken up by the smell of barbecue. After all, she only ate dry food today and vomited it all out. The little girl was definitely hungry at this time.

"Big brother, the meat you grill isn't as delicious as my brother's. My brother is better."

Ah Ku huddled in Wu Chengyu's arms. Seeing a group of strong men around him, he didn't dare to speak at first, but then he blurted out these words for some reason.

The people around them burst into laughter, and Sister Niu was even more so, laughing so hard that she fell backwards. "Yu Xiaowu, aren't you usually the best at grilling meat? I'm so embarrassed today." Yu Xiaowu wasn't angry, but he was definitely not convinced. He said to Ah Ku, "Little girl, you'll know which one is better when you try my grilled meat."

Ah Ku was also unconvinced: "My brother's roasted ones are more delicious. You don't even need to eat them to know, they are much more fragrant than yours."

At this point, Wu Chengyu also wanted to join in the fun: "Brother Yu Wu, I may not be better than you in terms of cooking skills, but my barbecue seasoning is definitely better than yours. Why don't you try my stuff."

As Wu Chengyu spoke, he took out a paper bag from his hand, which contained the barbecue ingredients he had carefully prepared. It had a very resounding name: Thirteen Spices.

The ingredients of Thirteen Spices are written on the packaging and everyone can see it. The key lies in the ratio of various seasonings, which is the core of Thirteen Spices.

While Wu Chengyu was recuperating from his injuries, he was bored and asked Ah Ku to find these seasonings. He conducted repeated experiments based on the instructions on the bamboo slips and his own sense of smell and taste, and finally completed a new ratio. It was definitely different from the ratio of the real thirteen spices. Wu Chengyu also replaced two of the flavors, and the final effect definitely exceeded the taste he remembered.

Yu Xiaowu looked at Sister Niu and Brother Lu. Sister Niu seemed to hear nothing and stared at A Ku, teasing her with interest. Brother Lu's eyes moved, he looked at Wu Chengyu and nodded slightly.

Yu Xiaowu was not polite either. He took the paper bag from Wu Chengyu's hand, put it to his nose and sniffed it. His eyes immediately lit up and he couldn't wait to open it and sprinkle the sprinkles on the meat skewers. However, he was also careful and only sprinkled the sprinkles on a few of the skewers. The rest of the meat skewers did not stick to it at all.

The other party is also an old veteran who has been out and about. Even though Wu Chengyu is just a child, he has always been wary of her.

After a while, a strange fragrance filled the air, and even the dilapidated temple, which was filled with a foul smell, was filled with this aroma. Everyone's eyes stared over, and some people swallowed their saliva impatiently.

Before the meat was fully roasted, Sister Niu reached out and grabbed a skewer, and put half of it into her mouth in one bite. She was not afraid of the heat at all, and she muttered as she ate.

"It's delicious, Yu Xiaowu, you're still not convinced. You've been grilling meat for so many years, and you've been outdone this time. You're far behind."

Yu Xiaowu didn't bother to reply, he picked up a string of noodles and put it in his mouth. He was immediately intoxicated and gave Wu Chengyu a thumbs up, which showed his admiration.

Two other people around also picked up the skewers. Although the rest of the people looked at them with envy, no one reached out to grab one, including Brother Lu who had been looking at Wu Chengyu.

Wu Chengyu certainly knew what the other party was thinking. If there was poison in the paper bag and they were not on guard and took it at the same time, they would definitely be defeated by Wu Chengyu.

Wu Chengyu hadn't had this idea at first, and felt no guilt at all. He reached out and took a string, saw that it was almost cooked, and put it in A Ku's hand.

Ah Ku didn't care about the complicated ideas of these people. Her brother's barbecue made with thirteen spices was the best delicacy in the world. She was hungry and couldn't wait to eat it.

After all the meat skewers were eaten and everyone who had eaten them had no complaints, Yu Xiaowu sprinkled the remaining thirteen spices on the other meat skewers.

Brother Lu also let down his guard at this time and said to Wu Chengyu: "Brother Wu, although we met by chance, it can be considered that we are destined to meet.

We brothers are here tonight to do something important. This matter has nothing to do with you, little brother. Don't worry, just watch from the sidelines."

These two chapters are transitional chapters. I have designed a major plot for the next part, which will take at least a dozen chapters. These characters are semi-original and serve to build new social relationships for the protagonist. It would be a bit monotonous if the people around the protagonist were still those in the original novel.

In addition, some book friends said that I was too long-winded and the plot was too slow. I usually tell stories at a slow pace. Of course, a slow pace does not mean that I can be long-winded. Next, I will pay attention to the changes in rhythm.
