Chapter 107 Remarks on the launch
It will be available for purchase early Friday morning, and VIP chapters will be released a few hours later.
I hope everyone will give me lots of support, thank you very much.
The following are some casual remarks.
●About pen names
This name isn't Gao Jianli from Bilibili, nor did I adopt it to piggyback on his popularity; I registered it on Qidian back in 2018. However, I do know Gao Jianli from Bilibili, so maybe we'll collaborate sometime in the future.
In addition, I have always felt that "Gao Jianli" is one of the best-sounding names in the universe, and I will continue to write well in order to live up to this pen name.
●Regarding updates
I have a procrastination problem, and I always end up thinking about some far-fetched settings while writing. I'm also quite busy in real life, so to be honest, updates won't be very frequent. I can generally guarantee two chapters a day, and three chapters are occasionally possible. As for more than that, I can only say I'll do my best...
●Regarding content adjustments
Revisions are frequent during the new book period. For example, the content of the first chapter may have changed by about 30% compared to when it was first released in early April. I suggest that friends who started reading a long time ago take another look.
●Regarding creative motivation
A key motivation behind this book was to supplement some classic Western fantasy settings with operational definitions—definitions that align with real-world logic. For example, character levels: why is someone described as "Level 5" instead of "Level 4" or "Level 6"? What exactly are the criteria for distinguishing levels?
Starting from this problem, I finally came up with the Holy Name System, where each level corresponds to a section of the Holy Name, making it clear at a glance.
I believe that the Holy Name system provides a relatively clear operational definition for "levels" in Western fantasy, and it also fits the art style of Western fantasy. It also connects concepts such as talent and attributes, which is a good setting.
By the way, I often fantasize that several Western fantasy games I play could adopt this setting, such as Warcraft, Wrath of the Righteous, Divinity: Original Sin, Baldur's Gate...
The inspiration for the system of sacred names mainly comes from the Christian culture of sacred names, as well as the setting of true names in Yan Yu Jiang Nan's "City of Sin". Although I didn't read much of this book after the death of Liu Sha, it still had a great influence on me. Praise to Yan Yu Jiang Nan.
However, the concept of magic runes didn't actually come from "Sin City." I only recently remembered that Smoker had also created a similar concept.
I might post a separate chapter about the various settings in this book when I have time.
●Finally
I'm asking for a first subscription and a monthly pass.
