Being a knight is not easy

Chapter 319 Supply Station

Chapter 319 Supply Station

Robin knew that once Wilke's territory fell, the situation in the entire West would become even more dire, and the Middle-earth alliance's influence would penetrate even deeper into the West, making it even more difficult to salvage the situation.

After all, before leaving, Robin left Viscount Wilke three lines of defense against Middle-earth's attack, and now the enemy is still at the gates.

Robin couldn't help but reflect on whether there were any loopholes in his initial plan, or whether the Gatekeeper Knights were simply too powerful, powerful enough to break through his carefully set up defenses.

“We have to find a way to stop them,” Robin said, clenching his fist.

“But Silva and the others have already received orders. What can we do to change this situation?” Wind Chime asked worriedly.

After a moment of contemplation, Robin said, "I will summon Ironjaw and the others immediately. I need all the intelligence the Gatekeeper Knights have in Wilke territory."

He knew that to resolve the current crisis, he needed to have a thorough understanding of the enemy.

Only by understanding the Gatekeeper Knights' troop deployment, battle plans, and weaknesses can a strategy to defeat them be found.

Wind Chime understood that the last sentence was spoken by Robin. Looking into Robin's determined eyes, a sense of hope welled up within her.

Robin always manages to find a solution in the most difficult times, and this time will certainly be no exception.

Soon, information about the entire force of the Gatekeeper Knights besieging Wilkeburg was delivered to Robin.

Ironjaw and his men were extremely efficient; they gathered detailed intelligence in a short period of time.

"Is that all the troops you have?" Robin looked at the document in his hand with disbelief.

In his mind, since the Gatekeeper Knights were able to force Wilke's army into such a predicament, their military strength must be quite formidable.

But the numbers shown on the document surprised him; he had originally thought the enemy's forces would be far greater than that.

Robin began to carefully analyze every detail in the intelligence. He discovered that although the Gatekeeper Knights' forces were smaller than he had expected, their personnel were highly elite.

Commander Farman and the four centurions are all legendary knights, the squad leader is a grand knight, and the rest are also knights. This is a powerful army with elite knights at its core.

"Although they are few in number, their fighting strength should not be underestimated. However, they are not invincible either," Robin muttered to himself.

Robin noticed that, given their relatively small troop strength, there must have been some weak points in their defenses during the siege.

They have made a long march here, and their supply lines are quite long. If we can cut off their supply lines, it will put enormous pressure on them.

“Wind Chime, go and inform my father to hold out a little longer. I’m going to gather my forces and prepare to counterattack the Gatekeeper Knights,” Robin said to Wind Chime.

“Okay, Robin. You must be careful.” Wind Chime looked at Robin with concern, but she also knew that this was not the time for sentimentality.

Robin nodded, then turned to gather his men.

Ironjaw and Andasu soon arrived with their men to meet up with Robin.

More than three-quarters of the knights under the Ghost General's command are also here, with a force of a considerable five hundred men.

The five hundred knights stood in neat rows, their armor gleaming metallically in the sunlight, their weapons gripped tightly in their hands, exuding a powerful aura.

"This many people are enough." Robin clapped his hands and led his men around to the supply line behind the Farman division to wait.

For Farman's troops, supply lines were as vital as lifelines.

Their combat effectiveness will be greatly reduced once their supply lines are cut off.

Robin didn't attack the Farman tribe's logistics unit. Instead, he followed the trail to their rear supply depot, which was also the location of their granary. A direct attack on the logistics unit might alert the enemy, causing them to strengthen their defenses of the granary. Finding the granary directly, however, would allow him to deliver the most fatal blow to the enemy.

When they found the granary, they discovered that the defenses there were not as tight as they had imagined.

Only a few soldiers were patrolling around the granary, and they seemed somewhat lax, as if they hadn't anticipated an attack.

"It seems they are too confident in their siege tactics, believing that Wilke's army is powerless to counterattack, so they have neglected the defense of their rear," Ironjaw said in a low voice.

Robin nodded: "This is our opportunity. However, we cannot let our guard down."

He began to devise a battle plan. He divided the five hundred knights into several small teams, one to draw the enemy's attention, another to deal with the patrolling soldiers, and the main force to storm the granary and set the grain on fire.

"Remember, our objective is to destroy their food reserves. Once we succeed, we must withdraw quickly and not linger," Robin instructed.

And so, the operation began.

The squad tasked with drawing the enemy's attention launched the first attack, rushing to one side of the granary and creating a great commotion.

The patrolling soldiers were startled by the sudden appearance of the enemy and quickly grabbed their weapons to fight back.

Just as the enemy's attention was drawn to this, the other squads moved swiftly.

They approached silently and eliminated the soldiers who were still patrolling.

Then, the main force rushed into the granary like a torrent.

They scattered the flammable materials they had prepared beforehand, and then lit them.

Instantly, flames shot into the sky inside the granary, and the fire spread rapidly.

"It's a success!" Robin looked at the burning granary, his heart filled with joy.

At this moment, the soldiers of the Farman unit noticed the abnormality behind them and rushed to their aid.

But Robin and his men had already taken advantage of the chaos to evacuate the scene.

This surprise attack plunged the Farman tribe into a huge crisis.

Their food reserves were burned, meaning they could no longer besiege Wilkesburg for an extended period, and the morale of the soldiers was severely damaged.

"What on earth is going on? Can anyone tell me where this knightly order came from?" Farman roared in dissatisfaction.

His eyes were bloodshot as he angrily scanned his surroundings.

The attack on the supply depot was a huge blow to their siege plan.

They originally thought Wilker's army was already trapped and that they only needed time to take them down, but now everything has become uncertain.

With their supply depot attacked, their provisions had to be transported back from the Central Plains, which would take longer and be more complicated.

This means they will not only have to spend more manpower and resources on transportation, but will also face more risks during the transportation process.

For example, being attacked again by that mysterious knight order or being robbed by other forces.
