Being a knight is not easy

Chapter 302 Not worthy
Robin quickly received the message, which naturally came from within the Bauhinia organization.
He immediately summoned his core members, including Ironjaw, Ghost General, Andysu, and Bacont.
Robin's expression turned slightly grave. He said to the crowd, "Gentlemen, our actions have attracted the attention of the Gatekeeper and the Wizarding Council. They have now sent people to investigate."
Ironjaw frowned and said, "My lord, what should we do? Should we hide for a while, or fight them directly?"
Ironjaw has been eager to try his luck ever since he became a legendary knight.
Robin shook his head: "A direct confrontation is definitely not an option; we don't yet have the strength to face the gatekeeper head-on. Hiding isn't a long-term solution either; that would only make them more suspicious of our purpose. We need to think of a clever way that will render their investigation fruitless without arousing their greater suspicion."
The ghost general thought for a moment and said, "My lord, can we create some illusions to divert their attention elsewhere?"
Robin nodded: "That's a good idea, but it has to be done cleverly. We need to find a suitable scapegoat so that the gatekeeper thinks all the anomalies are caused by this scapegoat."
Andy Sue said, "So who should we choose as a scapegoat? This scapegoat must be credible enough to fool the gatekeepers' investigation."
Bacconte suddenly said, “I have an idea. We can take advantage of those small powers in Middle-earth, who are active all over the land and often fight among themselves. We can do something to them to make it look like there’s a bigger conspiracy behind them, and then draw the gatekeepers’ attention to them.”
Robin's eyes lit up when he heard Bacquet's words: "That's a great idea. We can spread some false information among these small factions to stir up bigger conflicts among them, and then create some evidence that seems to be related to our actions but is actually misleading. However, all of this must be done very discreetly, so that the gatekeepers don't notice anything amiss."
Everyone nodded in agreement with Robin's plan.
So Robin began to plan the specific actions.
He dispatched some of his men to different smaller factions to carry out their plans.
He himself met with the person in charge of the Bauhinia Organization in the Central Plains. Compared to them, the Bauhinia Organization had been lurking in the Central Plains for so long, making them the true experts.
Robin knew that, in the face of his current predicament, the experience and resources the Bauhinia organization had accumulated in Middle-earth were key to his ability to deal with the Gatekeeper's investigation.
Guided by the wind chimes, Robin arrived at Axley, the capital city of the province of Axley in Middle-earth. It was a megacity with a permanent population of over two million.
The walls of Axley were tall and sturdy, built of huge stones, with watchtowers at intervals along the walls, where soldiers vigilantly watched for any movement outside the city.
Upon entering the city, Robin was awestruck by the sight before him.
The streets were bustling with traffic and crowds of merchants and travelers from all over the world.
Various buildings of different styles stand side by side, including towering magic towers that radiate a mysterious magical glow; these are the domains of magicians.
There are also magnificent and spectacular noble mansions, which display the family's glory and wealth;
There are also low-rise houses where ordinary people live, which, although simple, are full of life.
The two largest cities in the western border are still slightly inferior in comparison.
Wind Chime led Robin through a maze of streets, and after many twists and turns, they arrived at what appeared to be an ordinary tavern. However, Robin could sense that something unusual was hidden there.
"My lord, the person in charge of the Bauhinia Organization in the Central Plains is inside," Wind Chime said softly.
Robin nodded, straightened his clothes, and followed Wind Chime into the tavern.
The tavern was filled with a faint aroma of alcohol and a lively atmosphere. Some guests were talking loudly, some were playing various gambling games, and others were quietly drinking in a corner.
Wind Chime led Robin through the crowd to a corner of the tavern.
There sat a man dressed in a long black robe, his face hidden under a hood, his expression obscured.
"Lord Robin, I've long admired your name." The man in black robes slowly raised his head, revealing a pair of deep and sharp eyes.
"You are Sir Essien, the head of the Bauhinia Organization in Middle-earth? It's a pleasure to meet you," Robin replied politely.
“Please sit, Lord Robin. I know you are currently facing an investigation by the gatekeeper, which is no small matter. However, in Axley City, we still have ways to deal with it,” the man in black said.
Robin sat opposite him, looking at the man in black robes, Essien, and said, "Please do not hesitate to enlighten me, sir. I am indeed having a bit of a headache right now."
Essin, the man in black robes, smiled slightly and then began to explain in detail the various countermeasures they had learned during their long-term infiltration of the Middle-earth.
"First, there's the question of how to use the city's complex environment to conceal our tracks. Axley City appears to have a neat layout, but in reality, it has many hidden passages and secret spaces. Beneath the city lies a vast sewer system, which is not merely used for sewage disposal, but rather a complex labyrinth."
We've set up numerous hidden passageways and secret chambers within it, accessible only to those who know specific routes. Furthermore, the sewers are filled with various unpleasant odors and magical interference, effectively masking our presence and tracks. Even if trackers possess a keen sense of smell or tracking magic, they will find it extremely difficult to pinpoint our location.
Robin's eyes lit up when he heard this, and he raised his glass to signal the other person to continue.
"On the ground, different areas of the city are divided into different functions, such as commercial areas, residential areas, magic areas, and so on. The flow of people and activity patterns in each area are very different. We will choose a suitable area to hide in based on the identity of the tracker and the tracking methods."
For example, if the tracker were an ordinary soldier, we might hide in a magic zone, using the random magical fluctuations released by mages and the interference of various magic arrays to conceal ourselves. Because ordinary soldiers are less adaptable to magical environments, they would find it difficult to accurately track us in areas filled with magical traps and fluctuations.
"Don't the gatekeepers, being powerful, investigate on their own?" Robin wondered. These methods were indeed effective against low- to mid-level superhumans, but they were completely useless against legendary knights or even knights of order.
Essien smiled and shook his head: "We are not worthy before we have determined their value."
Robin suddenly realized.
