"The company needs a lot of vehicles, so we added one," Yan Hui said with a smile. "Is Mr. Zhang here to bid as well?"

"What bid could I possibly be interested in? I just came to take a look," Mr. Zhang said with a smile.

"Then you go ahead with your work." Yan Hui knew there was no point in telling the truth at this point, so he prepared to walk into the building.

At this moment, Yan Hui suddenly noticed that several people were gradually gathering around, and someone in the distance was shouting, "Hey hey hey, Boss Yan made some money, got a new car!"

Yan Hui heard the jarring voice, turned around and looked at the person, and found that he was a level-two agent. He was usually quite polite, but something was off about him today.

“If we were close, I wouldn’t have backed out voluntarily. If we’re talking about close relationships, shouldn’t it be your CEO Zhu who’s close to me?” Yan Hui frowned slightly.

"When we met at that development that day, President Yan said that the developer was very powerful. Have you just forgotten?" Chen Huaiyuan said, looking around as if he was waiting for someone.

"Just say what you want to say, stop beating around the bush," Yan Hui said, frowning as he sensed something was wrong. "Did you win the bid and then something went wrong?"

"Don't talk nonsense, Mr. Yan. Let's talk in private." Chen Huaiyuan noticed that other people were watching them and, worried about exposing company matters, chose to remain silent for the time being.

What he saw as forbearance, Yan Hui saw as irrationality. He said bluntly, "You've already said I'm talking nonsense, and you still want to talk in private? What are you trying to do? I don't know what happened between you. I've already been polite enough in what I'm saying. If there's anything, have your General Manager Zhu come to me."

After Yan Hui finished speaking, he went straight into the building.

Many people witnessed this scene and whispered among themselves, unsure of what they were talking about. After Yan Hui entered the building, he went into the reception room and started chatting with Sun Lei.

"I suspect it's that project I had a problem with in my previous assessment, the one that used a guarantee from an out-of-town bank. The payment is in trouble." Many people were chatting in the room, but Yan Hui's voice was low, only audible to Sun Lei. "Why are you being blamed for the problem?" Sun Lei asked, puzzled. "Did you really say that developer was very powerful?"

"How should I remember? Besides, what's the point of saying it? That's all there is to business. The Mr. Zhang I just met said he came to take a look. Do you believe him? He shouldn't be the main bidder, but it's perfectly normal for him to have invested." After Yan Hui finished speaking, he pondered for a few seconds. "It seems that Mr. Zhu is in trouble."

"Yes, these people seem to have been waiting for you at the entrance today. They were probably waiting for you when you entered the compound, but they didn't recognize you because you changed cars. Sure enough, Yan Hui had only been chatting for four or five minutes when General Manager Zhu rushed over and called Yan Hui out.

Finding a secluded spot, General Manager Zhu said directly, "General Manager Yan, I really need to ask you about this. Do you know that developer from last time? Now it's not just our steel suppliers who are in trouble; several suppliers are stuck inside!"

"What exactly happened?" Yan Hui was also somewhat surprised when he heard this.

“I don’t know you at all. Someone from my company told me about this project. When I ran into you that day, you looked so confident, I thought you had something going on, so I didn’t go to the bidding process afterward,” Yan Hui explained.

"I remember you said back then that this developer was very powerful. Not only did I hear it, but many other people did!" General Manager Zhu's tone was a little urgent. He stared at Yan Hui, trying to read something from Yan Hui's expression.

"Mr. Zhu, do you think this developer has the capability?" Yan Hui asked rhetorically.

"Of course they have the capability! They have a state-owned enterprise background!" In this day and age, a state-owned enterprise background is a purely positive endorsement.

"So, are you going to take responsibility for what you said to this company? If I can't get my money back here, can I go to you for it just because you said that?" Yan Hui retorted.

"Of course not. But this company is definitely powerful! I knew you would come today!" Mr. Zhu said somewhat urgently.

“Yes, so, Mr. Zhu, I was just being polite. Now that you mention it, I remember saying, didn’t I say, ‘I heard this company is very capable’? And later you told me that there are a lot of other projects behind this development? If I hadn’t heard that they were capable, would I have gone there that day? Just like this development today, I only came here because I heard that they were capable!” Yan Hui said.

"Then why didn't you participate in the bidding? Why didn't you come to the dinner party I hosted after winning the bid?" General Manager Zhu asked immediately, feeling that there must be something wrong here.
