Chapter 186 The Future King
Pentos, the city gates are now wide open.

Crowds began to gather from early morning, filling every street from the port to the commander's residence, eliciting bursts of laughter and chatter. Small vendors took the opportunity to set up stalls, and the aroma of roasted honey cakes and sausages filled the air.

The rooftop was already crowded with children, all eager to catch a glimpse of the commander-in-chief.

As the sun reached its zenith, the sound of bugles finally rang out in the distance.

"The Commander-in-Chief of the Imperial Guard has entered the city!" someone shouted.

Suddenly, a series of shrill whistles came from the sky.

People looked up and saw four flying figures streaking across the sky. The people gasped in surprise and then knelt down in a rush.

Those are dragons! Four dragons raised by the Mother of Dragons!
Their scales shimmered with different colors in the sunlight: one was a black dragon with scales as black as the night sky; another was a green dragon with scales as green as a forest; and yet another was a cream-colored dragon whose wings were almost transparent in the sunlight.

Above them, there was a slightly larger red dragon, its scales as dazzling as lava, and the spikes at the end of its tail swaying slowly from side to side as it flew.

Then, a group of Dothraki knights came into view, holding aloft red banners with black horsetails that fluttered in the wind.

Then came Rahalo himself, riding a tall black warhorse, slowly entering the city gate. He wore Valyrian steel armor, the mysterious runes on the plates gleaming mysteriously in the sunlight.

Behind them stood the Shield of Pentos and the army of the Dothraki, now they had returned victorious!

"Rahalo! Rahalo!"

The crowd chanted his name, and some voices called out "Mother of Dragons" and "Khalish." People upstairs threw flower petals and colorful confetti from their windows and balconies, making the cobblestone street seem to be raining down rainbows.

Wherever Lahalo waves, the place boils over.

In the past, this city suffered repeated defeats, but now they have their own heroes who are victorious in every battle, as well as legendary creatures, such as dragons. They feel very proud when they mention them to outsiders, and outsiders can now look at the people of Pentos with more respect.

In the middle of the group, an elderly man with white hair, his hands bound, walked silently with his head held high, attracting particular attention.

Even after being defeated and captured, he maintained his due pride, and the soldiers respected him greatly because his fame spread across two continents, and many people even grew up listening to his legendary stories. He deserved this respect.

Barristan Selmy, the former captain of the Kingsguard, was completely captivated by the four dragons in the sky, his face filled with disbelief, and even the blinding sunlight could not make him look away.

He had been to both the Dragon's Lair and the Summerhall ruins, but he never imagined that he would witness a living dragon in his lifetime.

The old knight knew perfectly well what the return of the dragon meant, and his gaze finally returned to the back of the man known as the Seven Gods' Whip.

This man also has a dragon that belongs to him.

Is this a gift from the gods?

Lahalo had arrived at the entrance of the command house and was embracing Daenerys tightly on the steps. Her violet eyes were filled with deep longing, and one hand was gently stroking her slightly protruding belly.

Lahalo looked at Daenerys's belly, and his heart seemed to skip a beat.

"Yes?"

His voice suddenly rose three decibels, trembling. Rahalo had never imagined he would become a father; he had spent his entire life on the edge, never even dreaming of having a child.

And now, the empire he built has finally been inherited!

“It’s been four months,” Daenerys said, taking Rahalo’s hand and placing it on her belly. “I was going to tell you, but…” “It was only confirmed after Khal left,” Elizabeth interjected, “Kalish didn’t want you to be distracted on the battlefield.”

Rahalo was overjoyed and suddenly knelt down, pressing his forehead against her slightly protruding belly.

A moment later, he suddenly stood up, turned to the crowd outside, raised his arms high, and exclaimed excitedly:

"People of Pentos!" His voice boomed, "Today is not only the day the warriors of Pentos return victorious, but also the day of rebirth! My bloodline of R'harlo and the blood of the Targaryens is about to be born!"

A cheer erupted from the crowd. The Dothraki mounted their horses, beat their chests, brandished their scimitars and horsetail banners, and blew their horns to express their blessings for Khal's first son.

Red Dragon Migo landed beside Rahalo, its thick tail slapping the ground. Rahalo stroked the dragon's head, then suddenly drew his scimitar and pointed it diagonally at the sky.

"Salute to your future king!"

Immediately afterwards, countless civilians knelt down, some out of awe, some out of fear, but most out of love and respect for the military commander, because they all knew that the commander loved them too.

Rahalo pulled Daenerys into his arms so tightly she could barely breathe. He whispered in her ear, "Let me see the baby first!"

These words made Daenerys giggle, and she quickly pulled Leila in front of her to shield her. "How can you be so indecent in front of so many people! Let Leila do it, I'm afraid I can't!"

Rahalo cracked his knuckles as he sneered, "I want them all!"

"Ser Barristan?" Under everyone's gaze, Daenerys decisively changed the subject. "I didn't expect to see you here!"

The legendary figure was looking at Daenerys and her dragons with a furrowed brow, clearly having guessed the identity of the person before him.

The old knight bowed slightly and gave a salute.

"Your Highness...!"

Daenerys looked at Rahalo pleadingly, "Why don't you untie him?"

"He is my prisoner. Whether you keep him as a slave or pardon him is up to you."

Rahalo raised an eyebrow. It was he who had ordered the soldiers to bring Barristan to Daenerys, and whether or not the ropes were untied was, of course, up to Daenerys.

Barristan and Prince Rhaegar were close friends. Because of the Mad King's suspicion of Rhaegar, he was unable to stay by Rhaegar's side. After Rhaegar was killed, he felt deeply guilty and always believed that Rhaegar's death was a loss to all of Westeros.

Lahalo wanted to recruit this legendary knight, who was the idol of most young knights. With him standing at the front, the battle would be much easier, because no one would fight their idol.

However, Barristan's chances of pledging allegiance to me are slim, but his guilt towards Rhaegar is likely to be transferred to Daenerys, so this favor must be done by Daenerys.

"He is Barristan Selmy, the greatest knight of the Seven Kingdoms!"

Daenerys descended the steps and came before the old knight, personally untying his ropes.

She raised her voice so that more people could hear her.
"My father's captain of the Imperial Guard! From now on, no one shall treat him like a prisoner!"

Just then, the black dragon Haron swooped down from the sky and landed in front of Barristan, kicking up dust, before letting out a heart-wrenching growl.
