Chapter 115 Emerging from the wolf pack, only to enter the tiger's den

The man dared not be negligent and respectfully handed the sewing needle to the girl with both hands.

The girl took the sword, and with a flash of the tip, it pierced the man's thigh, causing blood to splatter everywhere.

The man howled, clutched his wound, and trembled all over, but dared not utter a single harsh word.

Arya was stunned.

She had practiced water-dance swordsmanship and could tell that the girl's sword-wielding posture was incorrect; she was just stabbing blindly. Yet the man showed no intention of resisting at all.

She never wanted to be a lady; she practiced swordsmanship to pursue freedom and yearn for adventure. But these past few days, her standards have been getting lower and lower, until finally she only asked not to be bullied by others.

Even so, this wish remains difficult to fulfill.

But why is it that a girl who can't even use a sword can be so frightening?
Why is it?
"Little girl, you did the right thing!" The girl turned to Arya and encouraged her, "If anyone provokes you, don't be afraid, just stab them back with your sword!"

Fear hurts more than a blade; she understood that too! Arya couldn't help but feel admiration for her courage to stand up for a complete stranger.

"What's your name?" the girl asked.

“I, my name is Nana,” Aria blurted out.

Her little wolf cub was named Nymeria. She dared not reveal her real name, so she immediately thought of this name.

The girl stared at her for a while, then asked, "You have nowhere to go, right?"

Arya felt a pang of sadness, but simply nodded.

"Then come with me."

The two turned and disembarked. The girl didn't look at the man again, and took Arya's hand as they walked into the city.

The girl led her northward, across Pentos Avenue. The Pentos Shields along the way stopped and bowed to her chests when they saw her.

Pedestrians made way for her, and some even offered her fruit and snacks. The girl nodded slightly but did not accept them. Even so, they were overjoyed to see her.

Arya had never seen anyone enjoy such treatment; Robert couldn't, and even her father in Winterfell couldn't.

"where are we going?"

As the girl walked further and further into the remote area, Aria's nerves tightened again; she hadn't seen any kind people during this time.

"Since you have nowhere else to go, of course you'll come to my house."

Stepping out of the working-class area, the view suddenly opens up, revealing a wide, clean stone-paved road lined with manor houses on both sides, fountains and flowers creating a picturesque scene, and the air filled with the fresh scent of the sea breeze.

This is paradise, a completely different world from the slums where Arya hides. Not only do you have to constantly dodge drunkards and thieves, but you also have to compete with rats and cockroaches for a place to sleep.

They walked for another thirty minutes and finally arrived at the gate of a magnificent palace.

On either side of the gate, a row of red flags with black ponytails fluttered in the wind, exactly like the emblem on the chest of the Shield of Pentos.

The Dothraki warriors, clad in snake-scale armor, nodded to the girls and then made way for them.

Arya stood at the door, speechless, feeling a wave of dizziness wash over her.

This is the Commander's Mansion!

The place where the father's killer lived!

"Who are you? How did you get in here?" she asked in a trembling voice.

The girl smiled and said, "My name is Vera, and I'm Lahalokao's butler. Of course I can come in."

After saying that, she took Arya's hand and said, "Come inside with me, have something good to eat, and take a bath."

...

As dusk fell on Pentos, Lajalo sat in a huge brass bathtub, a few lemon and rosemary leaves floating on the steaming water.

A maid was bathing Rahalo when Vera waved her hand, ordering the maid to leave. She then sat behind the tub, picked up a velvet towel, squeezed water onto Rahalo's back, and began to wash his broad back.

"Go a little further down, to the middle part, put some effort into it!" Rahalo said with a contented look, grabbing a handful of pomegranates and stuffing them into his mouth. After chewing a few times, he spat the pomegranate seeds into Vera's palm.

Vera casually tossed the pomegranate seeds onto the table, grabbed a lemon, popped it into her mouth, and took a big bite, splashing juice everywhere.

Rahalo's lips twitched as he watched: "Is there anyone who's so jealous?"

"I just like eating it this way. So what?"

“Galan’s gone,” Rahalo suddenly said. “Why didn’t you go with him?”

Vera paused for a moment. "Why should I go with him?"

“Stop pretending,” Rajalo turned to look at her. “You think I didn’t see it? You rode him, you fell in love with him, and you want to go with him.”

“Nonsense,” Vera said calmly, wringing out the water from the cloth. “Even a dog wouldn’t go to a godforsaken place like Andari!”

“I never stopped you. If Garan goes back and changes his mind, and gets taken by someone else, don’t blame me for not warning you.”

Vera didn't speak, but just kept her head down and continued to rub Rahalo's back.

This time, he rubbed it until he grimaced.

"Slow down!" he sighed. "Although Garland is a bit simple-minded, he is indeed a good man. If you follow him, he will never treat you badly."

“He is a nobleman from Andari,” Vera paused, “He can’t be with me.”

"Go ahead, who says you two can't be together? What's wrong with me, Rahalo, that makes me unworthy of him?"

Vera looked up. "Are you in such a hurry to get rid of me?"

"I'm thinking of you!"

"Really?" Vera threw the towel on the table and said in a low voice, "I'm pregnant. Have you thought about it?"

"Huh?" Rahalo was instantly dumbfounded.

“I’m pregnant,” Vera said. “Galan’s child.”

Rahalo's lips curled into a smile, and he said happily, "Great news! Now you should go find him!"

“This child is illegitimate, and I am a Dothraki. Both my child and I will be bullied.”

The temperature inside the room seemed to drop several degrees. Rahalo said in a deep voice, "Vera, from Pentos to Mount Our Lady, the Grass Sea will always be your home!"
You have over 30,000 Slark warriors standing behind you, and all of them will stand up for you!
I will give you the best dowry and send you to the Reach to marry Garland. Anyone who dares to bully you, I will tear down their castle!

Rahalo's voice suddenly softened, "You deserve to have your own life. Garland will definitely be a good husband and a good father."

Vera's eyes welled up with tears. After a long silence, she finally said, "Alright then, but I need to find you a maid before I leave. Someone needs to take good care of you."

I found a girl who looked a lot like me, so I rescued her. She's a kitchen helper now, perfectly capable of handling the work of a maid; anyway, your requirements aren't high.”

Rahalo stood up, picked up a bathrobe and draped it over himself, waving his hand, "Suit yourself."

...

News of Robert Baratheon's crushing defeat at Pentos quickly spread throughout the Seven Kingdoms, shocking the entire continent of Westeros, and causing widespread panic among the lords.

Although the various lords reacted differently, everyone realized at the same moment that the seven kingdoms might be about to change.

Inside King's Landing, Cersei Lannister received a message from a raven in advance, learning the truth. On the day Jaime brought Robert's body back, she quickly organized a small council and publicly announced that Joffrey would inherit the throne, while she would become the Queen Mother Regent.

Then, in the Small Council, she relieved Ser Barristan Selmy of his post as Kingsguard, promoted Sandor Clegane "The Hound" to the Kingsguard, appointed Jaime Lancel as Commander of the Kingsguard, and knighted Lancel.

Subsequently, she spent a large sum of money to bribe Jeros Slint, the captain of the capital's garrison, and after taking control of the Golden Robe Army, she ordered the city gates to be sealed off and messengers to be intercepted.

Sansa Stark was placed under house arrest, and a massive manhunt was launched in the city for Robert's bastard sons and Arya Stark.

That night, several ministers who had voiced strong opposition disappeared without explanation, and were replaced by new faces who were loyal to the Lannister family.

The personnel reorganization was completed almost within a day, and a large number of the palace servants were replaced by people from Casterly Rock.
