Chapter 154 The Bat Family's Kids Always Have Great Teamwork (Please Subscribe and Vote)

Having partnered with Isaac for quite some time, and being able to roughly judge a person's state or predict their actions by reading their body language, Cassandra naturally noticed Isaac's mood at that moment.

However, since Cassandra wasn't very good at comforting people, or rather, language was her weakness, she could only manage to squeeze out a somewhat dry sentence after thinking for a while.

Holding Damian's hand, Helena was strolling around Ivy Town, occasionally stopping at some stalls to buy so-called souvenirs. While bending down to pick something up, she suddenly lowered her voice and spoke.

"Hmm, their actions are too obvious. What should we do next?"

Damian nodded almost imperceptibly. Just as Helena noticed the people following them, so did Damian. As a fellow Bat-child who had been trained by the League of Assassins since childhood, he was naturally no less capable than Helena, who had been trained by Batman.

Because he had promised Helena that he would obey her orders in this operation, Damian had to suppress his desire to take action and wait and see what his half-sister from another world thought.

“Lure them to a secluded place, then take care of them and interrogate them thoroughly to see if we can extract any clues from them.” Damian had originally thought Helena would choose a more cautious approach, but he never expected that his half-sister from another world would make the same choice as him.

Ignoring Damian's surprised expression, Helena took out her money and bought a so-called Ivy Town trinket. After seeing that they had finished exploring the so-called downtown area, she pulled Damian toward the outskirts of the town, striking a standard tourist pose.

Just as Helena and her brother left, several people who had been pretending to browse the various stalls dropped their goods, exchanged glances, nodded slightly, and walked towards Helena and her brother.

"I'll ask you one more time, who sent you to follow us?"

A few minutes later, looking at the people hanging upside down in the tree, Helena raised the specially made crossbow in her hand and asked in a cold voice. To intimidate them, she even shot an arrow, nailing one of their clothes to the tree trunk.

Standing next to her, Damian, in an effort to make Helena's intimidation more effective, pulled out a short knife from somewhere and casually swung it, shaving off half of one of the men's hair.

"Gentlemen, we really don't know anything about this. We just received the orders online. They asked us to monitor the people who have recently come to Evergreen Town and see if they do anything strange."

Under Helena and Damian's constant intimidation, the thugs hanging upside down from the tree were almost in tears. They hadn't lied, but for some reason, the two of them wouldn't believe them no matter what they said.

Helena lowered her arm and put down the crossbow she had been aiming at the group. After a moment of thought, she suddenly asked Damian, who was standing beside her.

"Because these guys really don't know anything~"

However, before Damian could answer anything, a slightly eerie voice sounded from behind them, answering Helena's question first.

Without the slightest hesitation, Helena and Damian almost instinctively rolled to the side, simultaneously firing two batarangs and three arrows in the direction from which the sound came.

After Helena and Damian tactically rolled away from their original positions and quickly found large trees for cover, they finally had time to check the effects of their attack.

But things took another unexpected turn. Their hasty attack failed to cause any damage, and the person who took the hit, as well as the others following behind him, were clearly not human.

After all, there really isn't a human that has bat wings on its back, horns on its head, red eyes, and a mouth full of fangs. Just by looking at it, it's definitely either a monster created in some laboratory or a legendary demonic creature.

Just as Helena was quickly loading her crossbow with special arrows, Damian, who was hiding behind another large tree, also took out his special bat darts that he had brought from the bat cave. Almost simultaneously, the siblings launched another probing attack.
