Chapter 256 A Trip for Two (Part 2)

"Impossible!" Zhou Ye slid down angrily, but lost control of her speed and crashed directly into his arms.

Gu Yang caught her steadily and chuckled, "Teacher Zhou, your teaching skills need improvement."

"..." Zhou Ye's ears burned as he struggled to stay upright. "You must have practiced secretly!"

"No." He took off his ski goggles with one hand, revealing a pair of smiling eyes. "Maybe... I'm exceptionally talented?"

Enraged, Zhou Ye grabbed a handful of snow and threw it at him: "Gu Yang! You just wait!"

In the evening, the two sat in a wooden cabin café next to the snow mountain cable car, holding hot cocoa and looking at the snow scene outside the window.

Zhou Ye's nose was still slightly red from the cold as he muttered, "It's not fair, how come you learn everything so quickly..."

Gu Yang reached out and wiped the cream from the corner of her mouth with his thumb: "Maybe it's because...the teacher is good?"

Zhou Ye was taken aback for a moment, then a smile spread across his face; he was immediately appeased!
Gu Yang chuckled and leaned in to give her a light peck on the lips: "A reward."

"not enough!"

"Well……"

……

Second stop, Iceland.

Zhou Ye had always dreamed of seeing the Northern Lights, so Gu Yang specially arranged a trip to Reykjavik for him.

Iceland's winter is bitterly cold, and Zhou Ye was bundled up like a little bear, but he was still incredibly excited.

"Gu Yang! Are we really going to see the aurora tonight?"

"It depends on luck."

"What if you can't see it?"

"Then come back tomorrow."

"What if we still can't see it tomorrow?"

"...Little Coconut."

"what?"

"Shut up."

They rented an off-road vehicle and drove along Iceland's Route 1.

Black sand beaches, glaciers, volcanoes, waterfalls...

Iceland's scenery is so magnificent it's like an alien planet.

Zhou Ye took photos the whole way, while Gu Yang was in charge of driving, and occasionally she would pull him out of the car to be a model.

"Gu Yang! Stand there! Yes! Right next to that rock!"

"..."

"Don't look so cold! Smile!"

"..."

"Forget it, you'll look more handsome with a cold face."

? ? ? ? ?

Isn't she prettier when she has a cold face?

Gu Yang finally lost his temper, walked over and pulled her into his arms, lowered his head and bit her ear: "If you order me around again, you'll sleep by yourself tonight."

Zhou Ye shrank back, but smiled slyly: "Then don't even think about hugging me tonight."

That night, they checked into the glass igloo at the ION Adventure Hotel in Iceland.

Hidden in the wilderness near Thingvellir National Park, this hotel features domed cabins that resemble crystal balls scattered in the snow. The fully transparent acrylic domes offer a 360-degree view of the night sky, and even the beds are specially designed at an angle so that you can take in the entire Milky Way while lying down.

Outside, the tundra was frozen, and the wind swirled snowflakes across the rooftops, making a soft rustling sound. Inside, however, it was warm and cozy, with the lingering warmth of the fireplace mingling with the scent of pine, effectively blocking out the chill.

Zhou Ye nestled in Gu Yang's arms, her nose rubbing against his sweater, her voice as soft as a cloud: "Do you think the aurora will come? The tour guide said there's a 70% chance tonight."

Gu Yang lowered his head and kissed the top of her head, his fingertips tracing her cheeks, which were flushed from the warmth of the heater: "Go to sleep if you're sleepy, I'll wake you when you come back."

She shook her head, her eyes sparkling as she stared at the dome like a little animal guarding a candy jar: "Let's wait a little longer, just in case we miss it..."

Before she could finish speaking, she let out a small yawn, her eyelashes casting a faint shadow under her eyes.

As the night wore on and the fire in the fireplace grew weaker, Zhou Ye finally succumbed to sleepiness. He leaned his head against Gu Yang's shoulder, his breathing gradually evened out, and the corners of his mouth unconsciously curled up, as if he were dreaming of something sweet.

Just as Gu Yang was about to dim the bedside lamp, he suddenly caught sight of a pale green ribbon of light outside the window, which unexpectedly ripped through the dark blue night sky, like a ribbon unfurled by a deity, spreading across the horizon.

It's the Aurora.

A green ribbon of light flowed slowly across the night sky, sometimes stretching out like gauze, sometimes twisting into a vortex, with occasional glimpses of light purple or bright pink darting out, like crushed stars scattered on it.

As the light streaked across the frozen lake, even the snow was tinged with a translucent green, and the whole world was so still that only the breath of light remained.

Gu Yang held his breath and looked down at the person in his arms.

Zhou Ye was fast asleep, his cheek pressed against his chest, a few glistening drops of saliva on the corner of his mouth, his hair sticking up in a messy, disheveled state, yet more heartwarming than any scenery.

He took out his phone, dimmed the screen brightness, and quietly took a picture of the scene.

The aurora borealis flowed overhead, and she was in his arms, as if she were embracing the tenderness of the entire universe.

"Silly girl," he chuckled softly, reaching out to wipe the water from the corner of her mouth, "Don't be angry that I didn't wake you when you wake up."

Outside the window, the aurora was still dancing, illuminating the glass house with intermittent light and shadow, reflecting the overlapping shadows of the two people, as gentle as a dream that would never end.

...The final stop, Tuscany, Italy.

Compared to the snow-capped mountains of Switzerland and the aurora borealis of Iceland, the sunshine in Tuscany is more relaxing.

They rented a country villa surrounded by vineyards and olive trees, with the sweet scent of grass and grapes in the air.

Zhou Ye, wearing a floral dress and a wide-brimmed straw hat, squatted in the garden, fiddling with freshly picked lemons. The bright yellow lemons made her fingertips look even whiter.

Gu Yang sat in the rattan chair, holding a book in his hand, but his gaze was not on the words; he couldn't help but glance in her direction.

She was struggling with a crooked lemon, wrinkling her nose and muttering, "Why is it so ugly?", like a squirrel throwing a tantrum at a nut.

"Gu Yang! Let's have a barbecue tonight!" She turned around holding a lemon, the wide brim of her straw hat covering half her face, leaving only her smiling eyes showing.

"Hmm." He closed the book, a hint of amusement in his voice.

"I'm going to buy groceries!" She threw down the lemon and ran into the house, her straw hat almost tilting to one side.

“I’ll go with you.” He got up and followed her, picking up the lemon she had dropped on the ground.

The town's market was bustling with activity, the aroma of cheese mingling with the sweet and sour scent of fresh tomatoes filling the entire street.

Zhou Ye, holding Gu Yang's hand, strolled through the stalls, pointing to the bright red strawberries: "I want this one! And that grilled sausage, it looks so delicious..."

Turning her head, she saw that the bag Gu Yang was carrying was almost full. Suddenly remembering something, she snorted and shook off his hand, "You still have to say that! That time in Iceland, you didn't even call me when the Northern Lights came!"

Gu Yang smiled helplessly: "I called you, but you were sleeping like a little pig."

"I don't care!" she said, hands on her hips. "Such beautiful aurora borealis, and I was sleeping! You did this on purpose!"

"Yes, yes, it's my fault." He casually grabbed a bunch of grapes and shoved them into her hand. "Did you change your phone wallpaper?"

Zhou Ye paused for a moment, then subconsciously pulled out his phone.

The wallpaper was still the photo he had secretly taken; she was sleeping haphazardly in his arms, drool hanging from the corner of her mouth, with the aurora borealis flowing overhead.

Her face flushed, and she retorted stubbornly, "Whether I change it or not is none of your business!"

"Not changing?" Gu Yang raised an eyebrow and reached out to flick her nose. "Then why are you angry? Didn't you quite like that Aurora sleeping face?"

Zhou Ye was caught off guard, stomped his foot and turned to leave, but was pulled back by the wrist.

"Okay," he said, looking down at her reddened ears, his voice softening, "I'll take you again next time, you can wait all night, okay?"

She secretly pursed her lips, said nothing, but quietly tightened her grip on his hand.

The barbecue was bustling with activity that evening, but the spaghetti Zhou excitedly made turned out to be so salty it tasted bitter.

She took a bite and stuck out her tongue, but Gu Yang ate half a bowl without changing his expression.

"Stop eating! It tastes awful!" She snatched his fork away.

"It's alright." He wiped his mouth, poured her a glass of wine, and handed it to her. "I'll do it next time."

"You just think I'm not doing a good job!" she glared at him angrily.

"A little." He nodded seriously, and couldn't help but laugh as he watched her suddenly bristle. "But watching you cook so earnestly is more delicious than anything else."

Zhou Ye's face flushed red instantly. She lunged forward to pinch his waist, but he pulled her close and made her fall onto the sofa.

The setting sun outside the window dyed the sky honey-colored, and golden light shone through the gauze curtains onto them, making even the air feel sticky.

"Gu Yang," she said, her voice muffled as she nestled against his chest, "how about we go out and play every year from now on?"

"Where do you want to go?"

“The blue and white houses of Greece, the forests of Norway, and the grasslands of New Zealand…” she counted on her fingers, her eyes sparkling, “I want it to stay like this forever, just the two of us.”

This period has been the happiest time of her life.

She's always glued to Gu Yang, and nobody bothers her!
Most importantly, there's no Xiaotian, no Sister Meng...

After thinking for a moment, she added Zhang Jingyi as well.

They're all gone, Gu Yang is all hers, that's wonderful!

Gu Yang paused for a moment, then gently stroked her hair.

On their last night back home, the two sat on the villa's terrace, the evening breeze carrying the scent of olive trees.

Zhou Ye leaned on his shoulder, gazing at the outline of the vineyard in the distance, and suddenly sighed: "We have to go back tomorrow."

"Ah."

“Going back means facing cameras, interviews, and endless gigs…” Her voice trailed off. “I don’t want to leave.”

She really wanted to stay there, watching the sunrise and sunset every day, picking lemons, strolling through the market, or even just sitting next to him in a daze. That would be more comfortable than going back to that world surrounded by spotlights.

Gu Yang turned her face so that she could look at him.

The moonlight fell into his eyes, gentle as a pool of water: "Silly girl, it's not like I'm never coming back."

He took a small box out of his pocket, and inside was an exquisite ring with a line of tiny words engraved on it: "Next stop".

“Wear this,” he said, slipping the ring onto her ring finger. It fit perfectly. “Look at it whenever you miss me. If you think of me, we can leave anytime.”

Zhou Ye was stunned. Touching the engraving on the ring, his nose stung with tears: "A ring? For me? You..."

"Yes, for my little coconut! You are irreplaceable in my heart!"

She was amused, but tears streamed down her face, landing on the back of his hand, and she couldn't stop them!
"Gu Yang," she sniffed, "I love you!"

The distant stars shone like scattered diamonds, and the Tuscan night breeze seemed to gently conclude their journey while quietly foreshadowing their next departure.
