Chapter 244 Filming the Music Video, 1 The Whole Big Story?!
Chapter 244 - Shooting a Music Video, a Whole Big Story?!
Following behind Lin Wan, Ji Rujing felt something was off. She sensed that the atmosphere was strange, but she couldn't quite put her finger on what was wrong.
And why did Tang Yan go looking for Bai Ye as soon as she arrived?!
There were some details that Tang Yan and Bai Ye needed to discuss together.
But Bai Ye isn't coming, and neither is Tang Yan?!
No no no! ! !
If you think about it that way, then it's not you who's strange, but the two of them.
Just as Ji Rujing was thinking, the door was opened and Tang Yan came out behind Bai Ye.
The moment I saw the two of them, that feeling intensified.
"Sister Ji, have you reached an agreement?!"
Looking into Ji Rujing's eyes, Tang Yan's heart pounded.
There's always this feeling that I'm being seen through.
Therefore, Tang Yan looked at Ji Rujing with a little bit of guilt.
After all, it was somewhat inappropriate for him to have fallen in love without telling Ji Rujing.
If an artist is in a relationship, the person who should be most concerned is actually their manager.
To avoid any unexpected situations, the agent is aware of the artist's romantic relationships and can react accordingly.
However, it was just a relationship that lasted for three months.
Tang Yan was really too embarrassed to tell Ji Rujing.
Do I have to say that I begged Bai Ye to give me three months?
Ok!
If I really said that, how would Ji Rujing view me afterwards?!
Fortunately, although Ji Rujing found it a bit strange, she didn't think too much about it and nodded, saying, "Yes, we've almost finished our discussion. Aren't we going to shoot the music video?"
The music video was filmed by Lin Yu-fen, as was the movie.
As someone who had just joined Baiye Studio, having her shoot a music video first was somewhat of a waste of her talents.
As for the movie, it's impossible to find another director for "White Night".
Even Lin Yufen joined her own studio despite the pressure.
It would be unreasonable for me to hand over the film to someone else to make it.
Tang Yan has recently turned down all her work to focus on filming the music video and movie for "White Night".
In response, when Ji Rujing discussed this with the company's senior management, both sides agreed that it was a very feasible option.
It is known that almost everyone who has worked with Bai Ye has benefited to some extent, including Tang Yan.
Now, for Bai Ye's sake, Tang Yan's schedule has been postponed, even though part of it requires paying a penalty for breach of contract.
But everyone thinks that the penalty for breach of contract was well worth it!
"Okay, I'm going."
Tang Yan breathed a sigh of relief after hearing Ji Rujing's words.
I feel like this matter is finally over; I was quite worried about it before.
Relieved, she turned her head and glanced at Bai Ye. Seeing the smile hidden in his eyes, she gently twisted Bai Ye's waist when no one else was looking.
"What the heck?! What did I just see?!"
The assistant was right behind him, staring wide-eyed at the scene before him, then immediately turned his head away.
It seems I've discovered something incredible!
Is this the kind of thrill young people crave?!
If the goal is to seek thrills, then let's go all the way!
I go? !
Why are you all wearing Pinru's clothes?!
The assistant was inwardly chuckling to herself. She really hadn't expected that Bai Ye and Tang Yan would pull such a stunt right under Ji Rujing's nose.
Right now, I guess only Ji Rujing doesn't know.
Of course, the assistant certainly wouldn't dare to say anything more.
Even though her eyes had turned away, she couldn't help but look back, wanting to take a second look.
"Well, let's go."
Bai Ye glanced at Tang Yan, raised an eyebrow, and gestured with his eyes, "Isn't that enough?"
He's immune to that tactic.
It seems like every girl likes this trick!
"If we're shooting a music video afterwards, how many will we need to shoot?"
Tang Yan then asked a question about work.
I hadn't actually asked about shooting the music video beforehand.
How many music videos need to be filmed?
If there are a lot, it will probably take some time.
"Let me think about it." A thoughtful look flashed in Bai Ye's eyes before he said, "First of all, I want to see you. At this age, those three songs will likely be adapted from movies or TV series."
Therefore, these three songs do not need to be filmed with music videos.
Then there's the song "A Little Happiness," which I'll use as the theme song for my teenage years.
Therefore, this song should not be made into a music video.
"The Wind Rises" will also be used as the ending theme and insert song, but a music video will be made for this song. Of course, if there are other arrangements later, the plot from the movie will be used directly.
Next up is Anhe Bridge, which I released earlier. This song didn't have a music video, so we need to make one.
Based on this, there will be a maximum of seven songs, and a minimum of six!
Currently, the song "The Wind Rises" will be used as an insert song and ending theme for the drama "Our Times".
If we include this song, then the following seven songs need to be filmed: The Wind Rises, Anhe Bridge, You Were Once a Boy, Mercury, Young and Promising, Auditory Hallucination, and Within a Few Miles.
"Seven songs isn't much. If things go smoothly, we can probably finish filming in about three days!"
Lin Wan then chimed in.
Filming only takes three days, but post-production editing and other processes will definitely be needed.
However, Lin Yufen wasn't in this edit.
The studio hired several new editors because they were going to be transferred to another company, and it was impossible to leave all the post-production work to Lin Yufen.
It's also impossible to have Bai Ye assist as before.
Then the only option is to recruit some people to help Lin Yufen share the burden.
The music video was naturally given to them for practice. If there were any problems later, Lin Yufen would just tell them what needed to be changed.
"That's about right. So, when will we join the production crew?"
"."
Ji Rujing took a deep breath; all of this had been discussed beforehand.
You, Tang Yan, weren't here just now, and now you're already nagging and asking me nonstop questions.
Without waiting for Lin Wan to say anything, she said directly, "About seven days!"
The exact time has not yet been determined, but it is tentatively set for seven days from now.
"Oh~"
Tang Yan stuck out her tongue sheepishly and gave Bai Ye a mischievous look.
It's all this guy's fault!
I actually wanted to go, but as soon as I got up, Bai Ye hugged me.
After being embraced, Tang Yan had no strength left and collapsed into Bai Ye's arms.
So the reason you know nothing is all Bai Ye's fault!
Seeing Tang Yan's increasingly resentful look, Bai Ye shrugged and said, "Well, let's go. Director Lin is probably getting impatient!"
Let's finish filming the music video first. As for what will happen after that, we'll talk about that later.
Lin Yufen waited at the filming location for quite a while.
The content for the music video was already put together by Bai Ye before.
A story mode was created.
After all, if it were just a simple music video of singing, Bai Ye wouldn't feel quite right.
After all, he was here bearing the title of a talented scholar.
If that were the case, Bai Ye wouldn't want to see it either.
So, for these songs, Bai Ye also created a storyline.
Lin Yufen was looking at the story outline Bai Ye had given her, and the more she read, the more she felt it seemed quite good. Then she saw Bai Ye arrive.
She immediately walked over, a hint of excitement flashing across her face as she said:
"Wow, this script is amazing!!! No wonder everyone in the industry says your scriptwriting is getting better and better. Looking at it now, it's true. If you look at the script on its own, it's actually a bit lacking."
There are even some parts that I don't understand.
But when viewed together, it truly makes the entire story's plot crystal clear!
Before receiving the script, Lin Yufen had always thought that she would just be shooting a few music videos.
I doubt there will be anything more.
For her, this was actually not difficult or challenging at all. If Bai Ye hadn't asked her to film it, she definitely wouldn't have gone to shoot the music video.
But after receiving the script, Lin Yufen felt that it was a good thing she agreed.
At least for now, the script is quite coherent.
They strung together several songs that had no connection to each other.
"What?! Let me see!! Let me see!!!"
Tang Yan immediately stepped forward, chuckled, and took the script from Lin Yufen.
Then I began immersive reading.
Lin Yufen did not disturb them.
What she was actually more curious about was why Bai Ye would seek out Tang Yan.
It's worth noting that before Tang Yan, there were choices like Yang Mi and Liu Shishi.
Bai Ye's choice to choose Tang Yan inevitably piqued Lin Yufen's curiosity.
The two are even going to collaborate on a film. If others don't know this, how could the director not know?!
Speaking of which, the two of them have been working together too frequently lately, unless they don't seem to be doing anything too outrageous.
Lin Yufen even wondered if the two of them were together.
Shaking her head, Lin Yufen stopped thinking about it.
Tang Yan, on the other hand, felt increasingly distressed the more she looked.
"Wow! This is so painful! How could this be a tragedy!"
Tang Yan stared longingly at Bai Ye, having finished reading the entire story.
My eyes are getting a little hot from looking at it.
How awful!
She and Bai Ye filmed a music video together; it should be a sweet music video!
Why did they have to make it so tragic?!
"There's nothing I can do; these songs are just like that. I can't possibly make a comedy out of them, can I?!"
In fact, some of the stories were rather forced.
After Bai Ye finished speaking, he handed the script to Ji Rujing, who was also a little curious at the moment.
She took the script from Bai Ye and was immediately drawn into the story.
The male protagonist in the story is named A Zhe, and the female protagonist is named Xiao Tang.
When A-Zhe stood by the Anhe Bridge with his faded canvas bag on his back, the wind was whipping the river reeds against his face.
The canvas bag contained the morin khuur (horsehead fiddle) that his father had just polished. The body of the instrument still retained the warmth of the pine wood. His father hadn't said much, but when he handed the instrument to him, his knuckles brushed against his wrist. Those hands, which had been playing the instrument for many years, were calloused and rough like the stones by the bridge.
He was going to university in a southern city. Before he left, Xiaotang handed him a bottle of orange soda at the bus stop and said, "Remember to send me a postcard when you get there." When she smiled, her eyelashes cast a small shadow under her eyes, like the half-page of stars he had drawn in his notebook.
The way I looked at Xiaotang back then was as if she had a pair of clear eyes.
They sat side by side by the window in the library. When Xiaotang did her homework, she would bite her pen, and Azhe would pretend to flip through the book, counting the small beads on the hair tie that tied her ponytail out of the corner of his eye.
On a rainy day, Xiaotang didn't bring an umbrella, so Azhe tilted the umbrella towards her, getting half of his shoulder soaked, but he didn't dare to say, "I'll take you downstairs."
He's like a planet orbiting a star in Mercury. How far will it take for him to enter your heart? How long will it take for him to get close to you? You can only follow him from afar, not even daring to get too close to his shadow.
The year he graduated, Zhe found a good job, and the window of his rented apartment overlooked Xiaotang's company office building.
He saved up three months' salary to buy a necklace for Xiaotang.
But at the mall entrance, I saw Xiaotang walking side by side with someone else, who was carrying Xiaotang's favorite strawberry cake.
That day, Ah Zhe sat in the convenience store on the street corner all night, with empty beer cans piled up all over the ground.
He later put the necklace at the bottom of the drawer and never dared to mention the word "like" again.
Later, Xiaotang got married. The invitation she received had her smiling face printed on it, just as bright as when she handed out soft drinks at the bus stop back then.
A Zhe didn't go; he only went back to Anhe Bridge that day. His father's morin khuur was still hanging on the wall, with a thin layer of dust on the strings. He tried to play it, but the tune was off, like the unspoken thoughts in his heart.
From then on, A-Zhe always liked to go to the places he and Xiao-Tang used to go: the old spot in the library, the bus stop where they used to deliver umbrellas, and the small shop where they used to buy orange soda.
Sometimes I would suddenly hear Xiaotang's voice, "Azhe, why are you spacing out again?"
He turned around sharply, but all he heard was the sound of the wind rustling through the leaves.
He started to sit in the park near Xiaotang's house for a while, watching her run with her child on the lawn. The child's laughter sounded just like Xiaotang's back then. When people asked him why he didn't go closer, he just shook his head.
This year, A Zhe turned fifty, and there was a streak of white hair at his temples. After retiring, he returned to his hometown. The Anhe Bridge had been renovated and was wider than before, but the reeds along the river were still the same as before, swaying in the wind.
He carried the horse-head fiddle left by his father, sat by the bridge, and played an old tune. It seemed as if the wind carried back the sounds of yesteryear: Xiaotang's "Remember to send a postcard," the silence when his father handed him the fiddle, and the unspoken "I like you."
The evening breeze stirs the white hair at your temples, smoothing the scars left by memories. It turns out that all the unspoken thoughts were long ago wrapped up by the wind and hidden in every reed of Anhe Bridge, hidden in every glance back.
Just like that summer, and like you, it will never come back.
The whole story seems to have come to a close at this moment.
The opening and closing loop is created by using the sense of time evoked by the wind rising and Anhe Bridge.
The story begins with a young boy's departure, his longing for his hometown, and his anticipation of a secret crush.
The ending is a middle-aged reflection, carrying the regret of what was missed and the gentle relief of letting go.
"That's pretty impressive."
"Sister Ji, you didn't understand it, did you?! Actually, I didn't quite understand it either, after all, it's a music video, but it tells the whole story."
"."
If you didn't understand it, then you didn't understand it.
Why did you even say that?!
Ji Rujing rolled her eyes. Didn't this make her look a bit uncultured?
However, since Tang Yan had already brought it up, Ji Rujing nodded and asked, "Yes, there is something I don't really understand. What's the connection between these songs?!"
This seems to be a whole story.
Ji Rujing actually admired Bai Ye quite a bit; the whole story was very well-structured.
However, it's possible that I don't understand the lyrics well enough, and I'm not entirely sure myself.
If Tang Yan hadn't said that, she definitely wouldn't have asked.
There are some things I definitely can't bring myself to ask.
Tang Yan was staring longingly at Bai Ye. "What are you doing?!"
Looking at Tang Yan's expression, Ji Rujing was at a loss for words.
Bai Ye smiled and then explained, "Actually, you also need to look at the lyrics. Here, these are the lyrics. Take a look and I'll explain them to you."
First of all, I won't explain Anhe Bridge. It serves as an anchor point. The main point is to reflect the line in the lyrics, "I know, those summers are like youth, they can never come back."
The song "The Wind Rises" in this music video feels like destiny; from the boy at the beginning to the mature woman, I once poured my youth into her.
However, before Bai Ye could finish speaking, Tang Yan interrupted him repeatedly: "Wait!! You're speaking from A Zhe's perspective, and I'm getting a little confused!!"
no way!
Tang Yan felt like her brain capacity was a bit insufficient!
"Okay, I'll give you a brief overview."
The story begins with A-Zhe and Xiao-Tang sharing their teenage feelings on Anhe Bridge, so it starts at Anhe Bridge.
Then A-Zhe and Xiao-Tang arrived in Nancheng together. It was the first time the boy had left his hometown. The moment he stepped out of the station, he hesitated. He was uncertain about the future and about Xiao-Tang. So the wind started to blow.
After arriving in the big city, A Zhe became increasingly hesitant to express his inner thoughts to Xiao Tang. Feeling inferior, he kept thinking about what he needed to do and how long it would take to enter Xiao Tang's heart. This is the story of Mercury.
As he grew older, A-Zhe also grew up and began to look like an adult. Sometimes he would think back to his childhood, but perhaps only as an adult could he stand by Xiao-Tang's side. The fourth song is "You Were Once a Boy".
Then, at the mall entrance, he saw Xiaotang walking side by side with someone else. That person was carrying Xiaotang's favorite strawberry cake. That day, A Zhe thought that if he were young and accomplished and not self-conscious, perhaps the person standing next to him would be himself. That's what being young and accomplished means.
After that, A-Zhe always liked to go to places he and Xiao-Tang had been before, and he would even hallucinate that Xiao-Tang was talking to him. This was hallucination.
The final few miles represent emotional maturity, culminating in the closing loop with "The Wind Rises."
Actually, my story isn't really a story about a music video.
So if we film something later, some of the stories might be incorporated into another song.
Watching just one song's music video might leave you completely confused; you need to watch them together as a whole to understand them!
Bai Ye slowly recounted the story that connected these songs.
Actually, he wanted to try making a music video with such a big story.
