With a gulp, Liu Qing absorbed the Sun and Moon Wheels into his divine treasure trove for nurturing. He then stepped out of the Lesser Thousand Worlds, reverting to his Azure Dragon form, ready to continue his dragon journey.

However, before the dragon was released, Liu Qing saw that the shattered bodies of the Sunlight Bodhisattva and the Moonlight Bodhisattva had turned into spiritual materials after losing their life force. He took some of them and threw them into the widened riverbank behind to reinforce it.

This act earned Liu Qing much merit.

Subsequently, Liu Qing once again plunged into the floodwaters of the canal, manipulating the water puppet to clear the silt from the river channel, widen and deepen the channel, and quell the floods on both banks, accumulating merit while traversing the river.

As the journey through the dragon continued, time passed day by day, from day to night, and then from night to day. When Liu Qing arrived on the ninth day, he had already left the territory of Zhuojun and was heading south along the Grand Canal to Luoyang.

In Luoyang, the Grand Canal draws water from the Yellow River, and in the middle, the Tongji Canal connects it to the Huai River. The Yellow River and the Huai River are both major rivers. Not only is the water diverted into the Grand Canal abundant, but there are also many river monsters occupying the waterways and establishing their own water palaces.

Today's torrential rains caused widespread flooding on both banks of the canal, causing the already abundant water level to rise rapidly. The floodwaters eventually overflowed the banks and poured into the vast fields on both sides. The fields were submerged, a vast expanse of white, littered with the carcasses of various livestock and wild animals, including some human remains.

The various river monsters that had previously flowed down from the Yellow River and Huai River are now taking advantage of the disaster to devour the corpses in the water and the refugees who are hiding on higher ground. Since the Grand Canal was only recently excavated, there may be some migrating river monsters, but no river god has yet been born.

Liu Qing, having crossed this river, seized the opportunity to have the various river gods of the Grand Canal, both large and small, stationed here.

One by one, the spirits rushed over and matched with the river god tokens of the corresponding sections of the Grand Canal, instantly creating the incense gods of that section of the canal.

Every ten li there is a ninth-rank official, every fifty li there is an eighth-rank official, and every hundred li there is a seventh-rank official. This system is established so that from Zhuojun to the Luoyang section of the river where Liu Qing is currently located, the river god has been stationed.

The river gods, in their avatars, lingered in the widened and deepened river channel of Liuqing, protecting the creatures on both banks, coordinating the winds and rains of the four seasons, and filling the void left by the departure of the thunder gods, including Wen Zhong. At the same time, after the floods, they appeared among the disaster victims, instructing them to clean the silt on the banks, bury the corpses, and prevent plagues.

The disaster victims, already struggling to survive amidst the chaos of war, soon encountered another flood. Neither the government nor the rebel king cared. Now, with the river god, a manifestation of Liu Qing, they instantly found their backbone. They acted according to the orders, resumed production, and began to live in peace. Overwhelmed with gratitude, they all kowtowed to the river god and built a temple to worship him throughout the year, making the temple a popular place of worship.

At the same time, after Liu Qing's avatar, the River God, took control of the section of the Grand Canal from Zhuojun to Luoyang, a corresponding Grand Canal also manifested in the Lesser Thousand Worlds, running from north to south and connecting the Jing and Wei Rivers, making the Lesser Thousand Worlds more complete.

The river god, who had been incarnated hundreds of times, has now merged with the river god to form a section of the canal from Zhuojun to Luoyang, with most of the remains still standing.

Just then, a demonic calamity was raging in Luoyang, so Liu Qing sent his clones, who had not yet found a place to settle, to exterminate the evil river demons.

While the River God's clone was eliminating the river demon and quelling the evil, Liu Qing himself plunged into the canal to continue widening and deepening the waterway and clearing the silt.

While cleaning and accumulating merit, one also walks the dragon path, evolving oneself.

Now, Liu Qing's true form has grown to two thousand feet, and the dragon blood in his body has all turned into golden true dragon blood.

Furthermore, the dragon's bones also began to slowly transform.

As his physical form grew larger and he evolved into a dragon, Liu Qing's strength was enhanced once again. Coupled with the acquisition of the top-grade spiritual treasure, the Sun and Moon Wheel, Liu Qing now felt that he could fight against his two previous selves.

Ten li, twenty li, thirty li, fifty li, one hundred li, one hundred and fifty li, two hundred li

Liu Qing continued south along the Grand Canal, widening and deepening the waterway and calming the floods on both banks. At the same time, his alter ego, the River God, also vanquished the river demons that were causing trouble.

Before they knew it, they had already crossed Luoyang City and arrived at the south of Luoyang territory, where the canal passed through a canyon.

Today, two monks, each holding a chisel, are carving something into the cliff face on either side of the canyon.

Before Liu Qing arrived at the canyon, he used his supernatural powers to enhance his vision and looked through the torrential rain at the monk chiseling the stone.

"Who is this deity? It turns out to be Vairocana Buddha and Bhaisajyaguru Buddha. You two Buddhas, instead of transforming into your own karmic counterparts, you are here carving stones. You have quite the leisure and inclination."

"Amitabha Buddha, why is the snake demon in such a hurry? The calamity is not coming, yet you are urging us on. No rush, no rush, let's wait a little longer and live a little longer."

The Medicine Master Wang Fo glanced at Liu Qing, then turned back and continued to carve the stone with his chisel and hammer.

Vairocana Buddha also said, "Since you, snake demon, were born, too many Buddhist masters have died at your hands. Today, my fellow disciples and I, thinking of them, have decided to carve their niches in the Longmen Gorge of Luoyang so that people can remember them."

“Look, the Lingji Bodhisattva, the Yellow Wind Monster, the Five Hundred Arhats, the Eighteen Arhats, the Yellow-Eyebrowed Boy, and Maitreya Buddha have already been carved.”

"Wait a little longer. Once my fellow disciple and I have finished carving the Sunlight Bodhisattva and the Moonlight Bodhisattva, we will come to kill you!"

Hammers and chisels clanged and clattered as they carved Buddhist figures into the cliffs on both sides of this canyon called Longmen.

These Buddhist figures all died or were suppressed by Liu Qing.

Liu Qing smiled and looked at Lingji Bodhisattva, the five hundred Arhats, the eighteen Arhats, as well as the Six-Eared Macaque, Maitreya Buddha, Sunlight Bodhisattva, Moonlight Bodhisattva, and others whom Zou Jiao had just killed. He couldn't help but feel a sense of pride.

Since the Bodhisattvas of Sunlight and Moonlight had just passed away, and the Buddhas of Medicine and Vairocana were still being sculpted, Liu Qing's achievements were not yet highlighted.

What you're doing isn't carving Buddha statues for people to remember; it's clearly showing off my fighting prowess and highlighting my achievements!

“Medicine Buddha, Vairocana Buddha, I am not in a hurry. You can carve your own niches, so that when you two die later, there will be no one to carve them for you.”

Upon hearing this, Vairocana Buddha was furious and was about to retort when Bhaisajyaguru Buddha said, "Very well, thank you for the reminder, snake demon."

After carving the niche for the Bodhisattva of Sunlight, he actually began carving his own image. When Vairocana Buddha on the opposite bank saw this, he also finished carving the niche for the Bodhisattva of Moonlight and began carving his own image.

"Practice makes perfect. My two Buddhas, I found that the lines of the first Lingji Bodhisattva were stiff and rather rough, and the five hundred Arhats were barely pleasing to the eye. But now that it is you two, they are lifelike."

The clanging and hammering suddenly stopped. Medicine Buddha and Vairocana Buddha blew out a breath, and dust flew up and scattered into the rain.

Medicine Buddha and Vairocana Buddha turned to face Liu Qing, each revealing their Buddha-light, no longer resembling the old monks they had just been; both now appeared majestic and terrifying.

"Snake demon, today my fellow disciple and I will shamelessly join forces to fight you alone, hoping you can die in peace!" (End of Chapter)
