Chapter 80 The Pursuit (Part 2)
The instant Gu Yi deactivated the time-zero barrier, the two cars were less than ten meters apart. The inertia from the violent acceleration caused Vivian to slam against the back of her seat.

"My God!" She gripped the steering wheel tightly. "Time Zero can actually be used like that?! Junior brother, if you went into rally racing, you'd be unbeatable!"

Gu Yi's golden eyes were fixed on the rear window of the modified car in front of him. "Senior sister, keep the car steady."

"What are you going to do?" Vivian suddenly realized something, her voice rising sharply, "You're not going to jump over there, are you?!"

“There’s no other way, the target is still in the car. If the speed exceeds 180, the risk of directly destroying the car is too great.” Gu Yi awkwardly picked up the long knife; it was really uncomfortable to use such a weapon in this confined space.

Vivian grabbed his wrist with her left hand. "The two cars are going this fast, you can't jump over them!"

“I have zero time.” Gu Yi shook off her hand and placed his knuckles on the doorknob. Moonlight shone through the car window, gilding his profile with silver, but it couldn’t illuminate the golden undercurrent surging in his eyes.

Just then, the modified car suddenly slowed down. As the two cars drove side by side, the driver's side window of the oncoming car suddenly rolled down. A woman wearing a red fox mask leaned out, the night wind lifting her high ponytail tied with a scarlet ribbon. The Beretta, gleaming coldly, was facing the front wheel of the Chevrolet.

"careful!"

Vivian slammed on the brakes and jerked the steering wheel sharply to the right. A bullet grazed the right front tire, sparks flying, and the Chevrolet swerved halfway across the road with a screeching sound, before roaring to the front and closing in on the other car's rear again.

"Insidious!" Vivian honked her horn and cursed, "They actually used slowing down to trick us into driving side-by-side! But the driver on the other end was a woman?"

“From that distance just now, she could have easily shot at the driver’s seat.” Gu Yi frowned.

"You idiot junior brother!" Vivian flicked the strands of hair that were stuck to her forehead. "This car of ours has been specially modified by the Enforcement Bureau; even large-caliber rifles can't penetrate it!"

Gu Yi frowned slightly, but ultimately swallowed his unfinished words: "Senior sister, try to keep up. I'll climb onto the roof of their car from behind."

"Wait a minute!" Vivian slammed on the gas, the speedometer needle trembling violently as it pointed to 200 km/h. "I'll try to stay as close as possible! This piece of junk is a modified Range Rover, the chassis is ridiculously high!"

Looking through the bulletproof glass, the traffic on the highway was gradually increasing. The two pursuing steel behemoths were forced to gradually reduce their speed.

Seeing that the time was ripe, Gu Yi nodded in acknowledgment, then nimbly leaped onto the roof of the car, the wind instantly tearing at his clothes as they fluttered. To maintain his balance, the Qinghe Longsword flashed with a cold light, piercing the alloy roof with a clang, the blade trembling and sparks flying.

"Gu Yi! Are you fucking crazy!" Vivian's scream came from below: "Couldn't you have said so beforehand if you wanted to do a stunt?! That knife almost stabbed me! I thought their people had crept up here!"

Gu Yi had no time to respond. His golden eyes blazed with a molten lava-like light in the night, and the Zero Time Domain suddenly expanded. Just as he bent over to gather his strength, the roof of the modified car suddenly exploded—a man wearing a white fox mask burst out from the roof, his katana slashing down with a powerful gust of wind!

"Qiang!"

The two blades collided, exploding in blinding sparks. A tremendous force traveled along the blades, and Gu Yi was cleaved back onto the roof of the Chevrolet. The roll cage on the roof groaned painfully upon impact; fortunately, the vehicle had been modified by the equipment department and could withstand the impact.

"Damn it! What just happened? Why are you back again?" Vivian swerved the steering wheel to avoid the roadblock.

The instant the Time Zero Domain dissipated, the black-haired youth used the momentum to flip over, and the River-Shattering Blade pierced through the roof of the car once more. Vivian's frantic screams immediately echoed from the driver's seat: "Damn it! Couldn't you have just aimed for one hole?! Are you trying to scare me to death?!"

The white-skinned man crouched low on the roof of the modified car, clearly wary of Gu Yi using the same trick again.

"He can keep up with my speed!" Gu Yi yelled into the driver's seat, "I'll hold him off, you stay on target! Walker's backup will be here soon!"

"What kind of plan is this?! Who do you think you are—"

Before the words were even finished, his golden eyes had already ignited into two blazing suns. His muscles, in a state of frenzied rage, unleashed inhuman power, and the River-Shattering Blade transformed into a silver hurricane, sweeping outwards. The pupils beneath the white fox mask suddenly contracted, and his katana hastily blocked, but could not withstand the overwhelming force. Two bodies were propelled into the air with a mournful metallic groan, crashing to the roadside like intertwined meteorites.

Vivian looked back in the direction Gu Yi had fallen. Sparks from the metal scraping were faintly visible amidst the rising dust in the night. Fortunately, this was a lawless gang district, and the few passersby had already hidden themselves. She glanced at the rearview mirror, "Junior brother."

After losing the White Fox man, the modified car indeed fell into disarray, its once precise maneuvering turning into mechanical swaying. Vivian slammed the accelerator to the floor, and the speedometer needle trembled wildly at the 140km/h mark.

"So concerned about your partner?" She suddenly laughed, and the Chevrolet, like a shark smelling blood, slammed into the left side of the target vehicle.

The deafening clang of metal clashing was ear-piercing. The modified car driver was clearly enraged; the rear of the car suddenly swung out in a sweeping motion. Vivian jerked the steering wheel, sending shards of the rearview mirror flying through the air.

Want to ride bumper cars?

She suddenly downshifted and slowed down. As the modified car driver instinctively swerved to ram her, the Chevrolet nimbly slid to the rear of the other vehicle. The speedometer showed 96 km/h; at that speed, her mixed-race physique should have been able to withstand it. She hesitated for a moment, then decided to take the plunge.

Vivian used her right thumb to disengage the safety on the Colt M1911, and her golden eyes ignited with golden flames in the darkness.

Word of Power: Holy Judgment activated.

The bullet's trajectory was clearly visible on her retina; this was the incantation of causality—as long as it was within range, the bullet would inevitably hit the user's locked position. The cost was a long incantation, but she had compressed the process into three seconds.

"Bang!" The bullets manufactured by the Equipment Department roared out.

The moment the modified car's left rear tire exploded, Vivian's head throbbed with a pain as if someone were piercing it with steel needles. Fighting off the dizziness, she slammed the steering wheel to her sides, and the Chevrolet, like a raging rhinoceros, charged towards the unbalanced target vehicle. With a groan of twisting metal, the modified car crashed to its side, leaving a long trail of sparks in its wake on the asphalt.

Inside the cockpit, Vivian slumped in her seat, breathing heavily, her nostrils filled with the stench of blood. The Holy Judgment was a terrifying incantation. Within its range, any attack launched by the user was guaranteed to hit, making it ideal for use with firearms. However, its powerful effects made it incredibly difficult to activate. The pinnacle of this incantation was 'Quick-Handed Henkel,' who was said to have once shot Angers, causing the latter to develop an extreme aversion to anyone standing behind him ever since.

Vivian gritted her teeth and pushed open the car door, rushing to the side. The overturned modified car, like a wounded beast, was belching smoke. Rodrigo lay unconscious upside down inside, but the driver's seat was empty—the woman in the red fox mask had vanished!
A sharp whistling sound rang out, and a sharp pain in her right wrist caused the pistol to fall to the ground. Vivian rolled over, catching the gun still in mid-air with her left hand, her back slamming heavily against the car door. The clanging of metal was particularly jarring in the silent street. She curled up behind cover, panting heavily, her golden eyes burning intensely in the darkness.

"You could have just killed me, why didn't you?!" The hoarse question echoed around her, but the only answer was the howling of the night wind sweeping across the tin roof.

The Word of Power: Holy Judgment unfolded silently. When the golden eye touched a section of broken wall, Vivian's pupils suddenly contracted—the figure perfectly blended with the shadows was right in front of her! Gunfire erupted in an instant, bullets tracing arcs through the air that defied the laws of physics.

"Ding!"

A clang of metal clashed, accompanied by splattering blood, and the woman in the red fox mask staggered and fell from the wall. Her high ponytail, wrapped with crimson ribbons, spread in the night wind, and the bloodstains on her left shoulder stained her coat dark red. Two pairs of burning golden eyes faced each other five meters apart, the muzzles of guns and the edges of blades reflecting a similar dangerous glint in the moonlight.

"Your stealth skills are... frighteningly good, reminding me of the ninjas in Japanese legends." Vivian's left hand, holding the gun, trembled slightly.

The woman's golden eyes narrowed slightly beneath the red fox mask as she took a half-step back, disappearing into the boundary between moonlight and shadow.

Vivian immediately pointed her gun in that direction. "If you had just killed me, it would have been over, but now it's a stalemate! You only have two choices: either leave, or we die together!" Her hoarse voice was filled with a desperate madness.

Time seemed to stand still amidst the stench of blood. The faint sound of sirens drifted from afar. Suddenly, the woman raised her hand and flung three shurikens, her figure flashing backward in the opposite direction. Vivian barely managed to dodge the projectiles by tilting her head, and when she looked again, her opponent had completely vanished into the shadows cast by the buildings.

"Cough cough..."

A violent cough brought out a metallic taste in her throat, and Vivian slumped to the ground. She had been pushing herself to the limit; the two overloaded activations of the Holy Judgment had left her retinas bloodshot, and she was on the verge of losing consciousness.

She fumbled for the headset, "Team leader, the target is with me... You guys get here as soon as possible. Also, Gu Yi and the enemy... cough... the white fox man crashed around here. Remember to search for him..."

·
As Gu Yi plummeted, he locked onto the white fox man's burning golden eyes. Amidst the howling wind, he saw ripples appearing deep within the other man's pupils. After a brief moment of surprise, he regained his composure.

The two pairs of shoes shattered the pavement almost simultaneously, spiderweb-like cracks exploding beneath their feet. Gu Yi, still unsteady on his feet, launched a preemptive attack, his River-Piercing Blade transforming into a silver dragon aimed straight for his throat. But the white fox-man, just before the blade touched him, abruptly twisted his wrist, his katana drawing a cold, moon-like arc—a reverse kasaya slash!

"Oops!"

Gu Yi was shocked. He had learned this move from Chu Zihang before, but the speed of the blade was more than three times faster than his senior brother's! He hurriedly blocked, and sparks flew amidst the mournful sound of metal. The boy was sent flying like a cannonball, his back crashing into the wall of the abandoned factory, and pieces of reinforced concrete rained down.

Before the dust had settled, the white fox-man's blade was already upon them. But in the instant of the thrust, he abruptly spun around to block—Gu Yi had appeared behind them like a ghost! The two blades clashed, and both simultaneously spun and threw punches, the air compressed into a deafening roar. The shockwave sent shards of rock flying, and their bangs danced wildly in the blast.

Gu Yi took three steps back, his golden eyes burning brightly in the smoke and dust: "You are the first person I have ever met who can keep up with my speed completely."

The white fox-man stood with his hands at his sides, the tip of his katana drawing thin sparks on the cement ground, remaining silent.

In a flash, Gu Yi retreated rapidly, then attacked again from the northwest corner in a short instant. The River-Piercing Blade cleaved through the solidified air, but was precisely blocked by the katana just three inches from the man's throat. The angle at which the opponent held his sword was perfectly aligned with his attack!

"It's not about speed." Gu Yi used the recoil to leap onto the broken wall, the numbing sensation from his hand causing the hilt of his sword to tremble slightly. "You were anticipating my move!"

The white fox-man's golden eyes suddenly burned as fiercely as a furnace, and an invisible pressure caused Gu Yi's bones to creak. The boy kicked off the wall and tumbled backward, the spot where he had stood now slashed open by a katana, leaving a half-meter-deep chasm.

Amidst the flying concrete fragments, Gu Yi stared at his still trembling right hand: "Is this your Word of Power?"

The white-skinned man remained silent, sheathing his katana with a backhand motion. Gu Yi narrowed his eyes; the man was assuming the starting stance for an iaido slash. This posture reminded him of the ancient swords enshrined in Japanese kendo dojos, each curve exuding a deadly beauty.

The boy could clearly feel the abyss-like pressure emanating from his opponent, the killing intent accumulating within the scabbard like a volcano about to erupt. This was the strongest enemy he had ever encountered, bar none. Moonlight condensed into silver threads at the hilt of the katana, and Gu Yi suddenly realized that his opponent intended to end the battle with the next strike.

A battle instinct screamed through his veins. The opponent's predictive ability was almost like foreseeing the future; such a combat instinct could never be formed without years of relentless fighting. Moreover… the opponent seemed very familiar with fighting against speedsters. He had to break the established rhythm and create an opening with speed beyond his limits!
The surge of blood reached its peak, black scales sprouting wildly from beneath his skin. The searing pain from the blood surge, however, only sharpened his mind. Gu Yi held the River-Shattering Blade horizontally before his brow, the blade reflecting his pupils, burning like molten gold—Now!
The River-Tearing Blade ripped through the air with a shrill whistle, but the blade vanished just before it touched the White Fox Man's throat.

"Qiang!"

The white fox man's pupils trembled violently for the first time. The absolute defense that should have been completed the instant the sword was drawn was now breached simultaneously by thirteen slashes from different angles. He spun around to deflect three slashes, parried five thrusts, but the remaining five silver rays struck his chest and abdomen squarely.

"puff!"

The blood mist bloomed into eerie flowers under the moonlight, and the man was sent flying backward like a kite with a broken string.

He twisted his body in mid-air, landing firmly on his toes once more. He looked down at the crisscrossing wounds on his chest, the deep, bone-revealing cuts slowly healing.

Gu Yi knelt on one knee, staring at the other's wound. His heart clenched; he was all too familiar with this regeneration process.

"Click——"

A sickening cracking sound of bones suddenly exploded. The white fox-man stood upright, his bones undulating beneath his skin like a dragon. Then, in the moonlight, they contracted and reformed into an even more refined silhouette. As the man straightened up again, a suffocating pressure erupted.
