Hogwarts: Don't call me Wandmaker
Chapter 481 Snape is furious
Chapter 481 Snape is furious
A few minutes later, when Professor McGonagall and Snape rushed over, the violent roar had ended. They only saw Barty Crouch lying motionless on the ground, and a huge crater that had appeared out of nowhere behind him.
"My God, what on earth is going on here..." Professor McGonagall's face turned ashen, one hand holding her wand, the other clutching her chest tightly.
Hermione, who had caught up from behind, also stopped abruptly. She looked at Harry, her eyes asking the same question as Professor McGonagall's.
what happened?
Harry, standing nearby, blinked. All he remembered was that they had suddenly encountered Barty Crouch, who had been missing for a long time, but he had gone mad, talking to himself incessantly, and then someone had killed him from behind with the Killing Curse.
Moreover, this person wanted to kill Siron, but was blown away by a black diary using an explosion spell.
Harry remembered the diary; he had seen it a few years ago. It was a magical item that could 'eat' his disarming charm and then bounce it back.
What puzzled him was that the spell that person had just recited didn't seem to be an explosion curse, but rather the Avada Kedavra curse...
Also, how many times was that place bombed in total? Six times? Or seven times...? The sound was so loud that it made him dizzy, and he couldn't quite remember.
Harry instinctively looked at Siron.
But at this moment, Siron sat on the ground, looking terrified, watching Professor McGonagall and Snape run past him.
The two first went to Barty Crouch's side and examined him.
“It’s undoubtedly the Killing Curse. He’s already dead…” Professor McGonagall’s heart sank.
A minute earlier, she had heard Hermione's shouts at the Literary House and assumed that Barty Crouch was about to attack the Hogwarts students, so she rushed over immediately.
When they arrived, Barty Crouch had already been killed, and by the Unforgivable Curse.
And then there were those explosions...
“Tell me what happened here?” Professor McGonagall looked at the Ravenclaw boy closest to her.
This is the entrance to Hogsmeade Village, and right next to it is the bustling Zoko's Joke Shop. Many people witnessed what just happened.
Upon hearing Professor McGonagall's words, the boy was momentarily stunned, and it took him several minutes to stammer out a description of what he had just witnessed.
He was so excited that his speech was somewhat halting, but Professor McGonagall still managed to glean the general outline of what had happened from him.
As they were talking, Snape also walked over to the rather exaggeratedly large crater.
As soon as he got close, he smelled a pungent odor. As a potion master, he quickly identified it as the smell of soil, sulfur, and blood.
Bloody smell?
His expression turned serious. He peered into the pit, which was several feet deep, and looked like a pointed-roof house that had crashed down from the sky.
I don't know if it's because it's been blown up by the blasting curse too many times, but the pit is covered with a layer of dark stuff. I don't know what it is, but it looks a bit disgusting.
It's also a bit sticky when you step on it, like your shoes have some Super Bubble Gum stuck to them and haven't been completely cleaned off.
“That guy who suddenly appeared… he killed Barty Crouch with the Avada Kedavra curse… I know who he is, Antonin Dolohov… I saw his picture on the wanted poster.” The Ravenclaw boy said excitedly, “He also tried to kill Cyren Ollivander… I saw him raise his wand… but someone cast an Explosion Charm on him… interrupting his spell…”
"Wait, you said an Explosion Charm?" Snape interrupted him incredulously, staring at the crater as big as a house.
"No, not just one, there are several," the Ravenclaw boy quickly corrected himself.
Snape breathed a sigh of relief.
That's more like it. Even Dumbledore's Explosion Curse couldn't possibly have such power.
But he soon realized another problem.
"You just said you didn't know who cast the blasting spell?" He strode over to the boy and looked at him sternly. "Liar. This place is only so big. How could you not have seen it?"
"I'm so sorry..." The Ravenclaw boy almost cried when Snape suddenly stared at him like that. "But I really don't know... Oh right, you can ask other people... Maybe they know..."
Snape immediately looked at the others.
But every student whose gaze fell upon him shook their head in unison, including some Slytherin students.
Of everyone present, probably only Harry knew what had happened. Because the diary was positioned in front of Siren, it would be blocked from view from behind.
He was originally behind, but after recognizing Antonin Dolokhov, his hatred for the Death Eaters drove him to take a step forward, where he happened to see the diary from the side.
But even if others saw it, they probably wouldn't believe that a seemingly ordinary diary could cast a spell on its own... Harry thought to himself.
Of course, he didn't intend to tell Snape any of this.
After looking around, Snape finally focused his gaze on Siron, the prime suspect, but then shook his head.
No... It probably only took them less than a minute from when they heard Granger's shout to when they arrived here.
Based on the descriptions from the Slytherins just now, there were probably six or seven Explosive Charms that suddenly appeared.
How could a fifth-grade student like Xilun possibly cast six such powerful blasting spells in less than a minute and then sit there calmly? That doesn't make sense.
“It’s alright, Professor…” At this moment, as if he had just come back to his senses, Xiren slowly stood up from the ground and said, “Actually, you don’t need to look at me like that. I won’t tell the principal about you, don’t worry.”
"You, went to the headmaster to complain about me?" Snape pointed to himself, thinking he had misheard.
“Yes.” Xiren nodded matter-of-factly. “After all, you are the teacher in charge this time. Under your care, I, a weak and innocent student, was almost killed by the Death Eaters who broke in with the Killing Curse. This is your dereliction of duty.”
Snape felt as if someone had forcefully choked his throat, and his originally pale face quickly turned bright red.
“Don’t feel embarrassed. I’m fine. Besides, nobody expected the Death Eaters to suddenly break into Hogsmeade, right?” Siren dusted himself off and said magnanimously, “So don’t worry, I won’t report you.”
