Hogwarts: Don't call me Wandmaker

Chapter 452 Harry's Worries

Chapter 452 Harry's Worries

The first night after the start of the semester went quite well. Everyone sat in the common room and chatted until the early hours of the morning before returning to their dormitories.

The next morning, after getting dressed, Xilun prepared to have breakfast.

Upon entering the Great Hall, he also saw Sirius Black and Harry, who were standing next to the scoring hourglass talking.

“Sirius, you shouldn’t have come,” Harry said, his face still showing signs of sleepiness.

"What, don't you want to see me at school?" Sirius was still dressed in his usual serious manner, only his hair wasn't as shiny and neat anymore.

He leaned against the hourglass and said to himself, "But I can understand. When James first saw the Boggarts, it was when his father became a Hogwarts professor. Sorry, Harry, I didn't think that much about it back then."

“No, I’m not afraid of that kind of thing.” Harry shook his head repeatedly. “I’m so glad you came to Hogwarts, really glad. I was so excited last night that I couldn’t sleep all night.”

Sirius glanced at Harry's dark circles and immediately believed it.

"Then why did you just say I shouldn't have come?"

“What I mean is, you shouldn’t be the Defense Against the Dark Arts professor.” Harry glanced at the teachers’ table not far away and said in a low voice, “You know, this position is cursed by Voldemort, and no professor has ever escaped it.”

“I once thought Professor Moody could break the curse, but during the holidays he was sent to St. Mungo’s due to an injury.”

"It's not as bad as you think," Sirius said nonchalantly. "Alastor is an Auror, even in retirement. And Aurors can get hurt all the time; this just happened to happen during the holidays."

"But……"

“No buts, Harry,” Sirius continued. “And strictly speaking, I should have gone with Alastor. If I hadn’t gone off to do something else and had gone to the Ministry of Magic with him, he probably wouldn’t have gotten hurt.”

“Alastor needs to recover from his injury, so it’s only fair that I take over his work. It also helps Dumbledore out of trouble… Honestly, I never knew Dumbledore could be so unpopular. Some people wouldn’t even let him in the door.”

“Ah, it’s an annual event.” Celen walked over and said with a smile, “Dumbledore is just like a seven or eight-year-old child every July and August.”

"What do you mean?"

“They’re just universally disliked,” Xilun said. “Sorry, I hope I didn’t interrupt your conversation.”

“Of course not,” Harry said.

In fact, he should have thought of this long ago. Given Sirius's personality, once he accepted the position of Defense Against the Dark Arts professor, he would not give up halfway because of fear of curses.

It's practically impossible to get him to resign and leave now.

Hopefully, that so-called curse doesn't exist at all... Harry sighed softly and ran towards the entrance of the Great Hall again.

He had another task today: to help the first-year students find their way to the Great Hall and classrooms with Hermione.

Normally, prefects don't need to go to this extent, since exploring the castle is also one of the joys of Hogwarts students.

But Hermione insisted that they should help the freshmen more.

"Think back to when we first entered school, didn't you also wish that someone would help you find the right path instead of going around in circles on the stairs over and over again?"

Harry was speechless, so when Hermione brought some of the early-rising freshmen to the Great Hall, he followed along, and there he happened to run into Sirius Black.

After the chat ended, he had to hurry to help Hermione.

"The prefect must have a tough job," Sirius exclaimed.

“Who can argue with that?” Xilun nodded. “Fortunately, his friends are all fairly law-abiding and don’t need his extra help to cover for them, which saves a lot of trouble.”

Sirius couldn't help but glance at Sirius, sensing that there was something more to his words.

"I don't think you're a well-behaved student."

“At least I won’t get caught,” Celen said.

"Are you sure?" Sirius raised an eyebrow. "You know, even I wouldn't dare say that. Filch is easy to deal with, but his stupid cat is such a nuisance. Before we learned... that Transfiguration spell, it would often catch us."

“Of course, we always manage to shake him off before Filch gets here.” “If you’re referring to Mrs. Lorris…” Siren said, “dealing with her is simple, just get a cat as a pet.”

"What do you mean?" Sirius frowned, somewhat confused.

"It's Tom."

"Who is the owner of the Leaky Cauldron?"

“That’s old Tom,” Celen said. “I have a cat named Tom.”

"You have a pet? I've never seen one before," Sirius exclaimed in surprise. "I was thinking of giving you an owl for Christmas this year."

“That’s because it prefers to stay in the Forbidden Forest and has never come back with me,” Celen said. “Of course, I wouldn’t mind having another owl. By the way, I prefer snowy owls and long-eared owls, which can fly long distances.”

“I’ll think about it,” Sirius said. “Come on, continue talking about your cat. It can keep you from being bothered by Mrs. Lorris… Oh, wait!”

Sirius's expression shifted, and a mocking look suddenly appeared on his face.

"Merlin's chest hair, you wouldn't let your pet seduce Lady Lorris, would you?"

"More or less." Xiren thought for a moment and said, "When Tom gets angry, he likes to chase after Mrs. Lorris and beat her up. After scratching off countless cat hairs, Mrs. Lorris now runs away whenever she sees me, afraid that Tom will suddenly jump out from behind her."

Sirius's face froze.

Is this called similar?
Much worse, okay?

But why didn't he think of that? Letting the cat deal with the cat, even that old idiot Filch couldn't say anything.

Unfortunately, he has already graduated.

“If you have the chance, please let me see your cat,” Sirius said. “It’s the best pet ever.”

“I think so too,” Xiren said with a smile.

"Fred, George, you've gone too far!"

Just then, Hermione's angry voice suddenly came from the side, "You can't post this kind of thing in school, and you shouldn't try your unreliable inventions on students!"

“To correct you, it’s our new invention, not some unreliable one,” Fred said with a serious expression.

“Besides, we’ll pay,” George added, walking over. “Isn’t it a win-win situation to get a decent allowance for just one piece of candy?”

"Of course not! Don't think I don't know that's a quick-acting truancy candy. You're violating school rules!" Hermione argued.

"Alright then, Miss Prefect, could you please tell me which school rule we violated?"

"Do the school rules say that students are not allowed to earn their own pocket money?"

"Students are still not allowed to post their own notices."

"You know, that's not what I meant!"

……

"They're arguing again." Sirius glanced at him. "Aren't you, as the professor, going to do something about it?"

"Then tell me who I should help?" Sirius asked.

“I don’t know,” Xilun said.

"I don't know either, so... see you in class." Sirius didn't even finish his meal. He grabbed a sandwich from the plate next to him and left the auditorium through the side door.
