Hogwarts: Don't call me Wandmaker
Chapter 429 Returning to the Humble Abode
Chapter 429 Returning to the Humble Abode
Hermione wanted to say something, but Siren noticed that Harry didn't seem to want to talk about Sirius Black, so he asked before Hermione could speak, "By the way, Harry, how did you get to Diagon Alley?"
“The Knight Bus,” Harry said. “Actually, I wanted to take the bus to the Leaky Cauldron, but I didn’t have any money, only wizarding nuggets, siecodes, and gallons.”
At this point, Harry's face showed a lingering fear.
"If I had a choice, I would really wish there were other modes of transportation, even if they were more expensive. The Knight Bus is just awful."
"Is it really that bad?" Hermione asked skeptically. "It's just a car, how scary can it be?"
In her view, the Knight Bus was probably similar to the Hogwarts Express, both being old-fashioned modes of transportation.
The comfort level will definitely be lower, but it shouldn't be scary.
However, Siron nodded in agreement with Harry's statement.
To put it simply, no wizard who has ever ridden the Knight Bus would ever want to ride it a second time, unless there is absolutely no other way... For wizards who cannot Apparate, the ticket price is really cheap.
Soon, the three arrived at the Leaky Cauldron bar.
The place was as lively as usual, filled with guests who came to drink.
They made their way through the crowded seats to the fireplace in the corner.
"The flames roared." Siren rekindled the extinguished fireplace.
“It’s so great to be able to use magic,” Harry said.
During Hogwarts holidays, underage wizards are not allowed to use magic outside of school.
For a wizard who is used to solving all problems with magic, putting down the wand is really inconvenient.
However, this rule does not apply to Diagon Alley... It is full of wizards, both adults and minors, and the Ministry of Magic has no way of determining who has used magic.
Moreover, as a wizarding street, you don't have to worry about being seen by Muggles when casting spells here, and the Ministry of Magic doesn't care.
“I think staying here for two months wouldn’t be bad,” Harry said thoughtfully, stroking his chin.
He has money in Gringotts vault, not a lot, but enough to stay at the Leaky Cauldron for a while.
“I think if you really do that, the Leaky Cauldron will probably be completely full,” Celen said.
“No way…” Harry said, “The last time I stayed here, there were several empty rooms, and it was during the holidays.”
“It’s different,” Siron said, grabbing a handful of Floo Powder and tossing it into the fireplace.
The flames suddenly turned green.
"I'll go first." Xilun stepped forward and stood safely in the middle of the flames.
“We’re not sure yet if the Ministry of Magic has shut down the Burrow’s Floo network. If I haven’t returned the way I came in two minutes, you can continue.”
"Ok."
"no problem."
Harry and Hermione said that they wouldn't have known the Floo Network could be shut down if Siren hadn't reminded them.
Siren grabbed another handful of Floo Powder, threw it at his feet, and loudly proclaimed in a clear voice:
"The Burrow!"
It felt like being pushed forward in a narrow passage, but it was bearable.
Countless furnace doors flashed past his eyes. About a minute later, Xiren felt himself turn into a fork in the road and fall through a lit furnace door at the end.
With a soft thud, Celen landed in another fireplace, where a messy kitchen lay before him, pots and pans piled in the sink, being haphazardly scrubbed by a magical brush.
However, that brush seemed a bit silly, constantly struggling against the bottom of the pot.
"I'm really not very good at this spell," Fred's voice came from beside me. "My incantation is definitely correct, but it just won't work properly."
“I bet it did it on purpose.” At that moment, George also came over.
“Thank goodness,” Celen said with a laugh. “I’m glad you guys can still joke around.” “What else?” Fred said. “Should we just sit there and cry Percy?”
“Next time,” Siren said. “I didn’t bring my camera this time.”
“You don’t need to bring it next time either.” George walked over and hugged Celen.
"Sorry, even though you won the three-way championship, we didn't say a single word of congratulations."
"It's not too late to say this now, is it?" Fred came over and hugged Celen.
"Unless you're willing to give me some of Weasley's newest products."
"Take whatever you like."
“Then I won’t stand on ceremony.” Xilun glanced at the time. “But let’s switch seats first, they should be here soon.”
"Harry and Hermione?"
“Yes.” Xiren nodded. “I wrote you a letter, but you haven’t replied.”
“There are too many letters,” Fred said. “Dozens of owls every day. Errol is too old to deliver them all.”
The group walked inside, and the next second, Harry popped out of the fireplace, followed by Hermione.
The appearance of the three people brought some commotion to the otherwise dull and shabby dwelling.
Mrs. Weasley also came over, with a forced smile on her face, and kissed them on the cheek.
"Thank you, thank you for believing in Percy."
Compared to when the third project started, Mrs. Weasley is now much thinner and looks very tired.
"How is it now?" Hermione sat down next to Ginny, holding her hand. "Has the Ministry of Magic still not found out the truth?"
Mrs. Weasley didn't speak, but simply shook her head helplessly.
Siren looked up and found the Weasleys's magic clock.
Most of the pointers above are stuck "at home," with only two exceptions.
The pointer with Mr. Weasley's picture points to "At Work," while Percy's pointer is the strangest, stopping somewhere between "At Work" and "Prison."
“A few days ago, both Dad and Percy’s pointers were there,” Fred said. “Fortunately, Dad wasn’t affected.”
“According to our information, he should be back in the next few days,” George said.
"When?" Hermione asked quickly.
“We don’t know either,” Fred said. “It could be today, or it could be tomorrow.”
“Arthur wanted to bring Percy back with him, but they wouldn’t allow it.” Mrs. Weasley began to sob again.
“Percy brought that on himself,” George said irritably. “He always brings up Mr. Crouch, even though he’s just a gofer, he insists on acting like a confidant.”
“That Barty Crouch even got his name wrong.”
He always called Percy "Wetherby".
It's clear that Fred and George are really angry. They've figured out what happened over the past few days; Percy wanted to curry favor with Barty Crouch, so he deserved to be dragged into it.
They were angry because of Percy's affair, which led to Mr. Weasley being interrogated as a criminal for several days.
"That big idiot!"
