Hogwarts: Don't call me Wandmaker
Chapter 400 Invitation
Chapter 400 Invitation
"A panoramic telescope, a great helper that can help you see every corner of the maze clearly, for only twenty gallons."
On the morning the third project began, the entire auditorium could hear Fred and George's identical voices.
They walked along the aisles between the college tables, several exquisite brass telescopes hanging around their necks and arms.
"Twenty Galleons? Why don't you just rob us?" Ron said irritably. "The Quidditch World Cup vendors only sell them for ten Galleons."
“My dear brother,” Fred glanced back at him, “we didn’t stop you from buying the ten-gallon telescope, did we?”
“If you can find that merchant.” George smiled and winked.
Ron frowned, sensing that there was something more to their conversation.
The Triwizard Tournament wasn't held in a stadium that could hold 100,000 wizards. Seating was limited, and not just anyone could come; only invited guests could enter Hogwarts.
A mere vendor selling goods would obviously not receive an invitation unless he was a relative of a warrior.
“That’s terrible.” After Fred and George left, Ron swallowed his sandwich with annoyance and said, “My panoramic telescope is at home.”
He also has a panoramic telescope, which Harry bought for him as a gift during the Quidditch World Cup. It was the most valuable gift he had ever received... a whole ten Galleons.
Because he was worried that it might get damaged while in his suitcase, he kept the panoramic telescope carefully stored in a box in his bedroom.
“It’s alright, you can have Mrs. Weasley bring it over,” Siron said.
"My mother?"
“I’ve invited her to see the third project,” Celen said. “She’ll be here tonight, so you should be able to write to her in time.”
"I'm going right now!" Ron jumped up and ran outside.
A few seconds later he turned back and said to Siron.
"Thank you!"
Xiren was eating a beef sandwich without saying a word.
Harry, seeing him about to run outside again, quickly said, "You can use Hedwig; it flies faster."
"that would be great."
"I'll take you."
The two left in a hurry.
Siren finished the rest of his sandwich in a few bites, glanced at Hermione across from him, and asked, "Are your parents interested in this kind of competition?"
"What?" Hermione looked up, seemingly not quite understanding what Siron meant.
“I still have a few invitation slots available,” Sirius explained. “If they have the time, they can also come to Hogwarts to watch the Triwizard Tournament.”
Hermione's face showed a hint of interest.
To be honest, her parents were indeed very interested in everything in the magical world. During the holidays, her father would often secretly look through the magic books she brought home.
However, after hesitating for a moment, Hermione shook her head.
“Thank you, but I think I’ll pass,” she said, pointing in the direction of Slytherin.
"I'm more worried about them encountering rude guys than watching a game they can't understand at all. Who knows what outrageous things they might say?"
No one knew the Slytherins' arrogance better than Hermione; she herself had been called a Mudblood by the Malfoys and their ilk countless times. If they knew two Muggles had come to Hogwarts, they would probably be even more outrageous.
It's better not to come at all than to be embarrassed later. They don't even know what a three-way battle is anyway.
"Alright then." Xilun didn't insist.
Hermione was right; getting Slytherins to maintain proper manners in front of Muggles was no easy task. Even with Dumbledore present, it was hard to guarantee they wouldn't cause some trouble.
"How are your preparations going?" Hermione asked. "Have you memorized all the information about the magical creatures? This is really important. I asked Hagrid, and there will definitely be a lot of magical creatures in the dungeon."
Siren raised an eyebrow... So Hagrid let it slip again?
Just as Siron was about to speak, Professor McGonagall walked over along the Gryffindor table.
"Sirlen, warriors, gather in the meeting room next to the auditorium after breakfast. Don't forget," she said.
"Gather now, but isn't the competition starting in the evening?" Xiren asked.
“It’s not a game,” Professor McGonagall said. “The Warriors’ relatives have been invited to watch the finals, and you can meet them.”
Professor McGonagall left in a hurry after she finished speaking. With the third project about to begin, she became increasingly busy.
"Are your parents here?" Hermione asked.
“My grandfather must be there too,” Celen said.
In fact, Garrick Ollivander will definitely come; he is a specially invited guest to ensure that the warriors' wands will not malfunction before the competition.
After breakfast, Celeste said goodbye to Hermione and went into the meeting room.
Fleur had arrived and was speaking to her mother in French. Beside her, Fleur's little sister Gabrielle tugged at her mother's sleeve as soon as she saw Siren walk in, and then excitedly said something to her.
Then all three ladies looked over at the same time.
But they had been speaking in French, and Xiren couldn't understand a word of it. She didn't know why they were looking at her, so she could only smile politely.
"Why can't any wizard invent a translation spell?" Siren muttered to himself.
Fortunately, someone came to his rescue.
His mother, Lila, came over and chatted fluently with the Furong family in French.
As a botanist who frequently travels to various regions, being able to communicate with locals is an important skill, so it's not surprising that she speaks French, especially considering she graduated from Beauxbatons.
“You really should learn this,” Celen’s father, Garian Ollivander, said with a smile as he walked over. “Languages aren’t as difficult as you think. I remember I learned French in just a few days.”
“I’d rather go to the library and see if there’s any translation magic,” Siron shrugged. “I’m a wizard, after all. What kind of wizard would I be if I didn’t use magic to solve problems?”
“If you really find this kind of magic, remember to write to me.” Galian smiled. “Remember the wizard tribe we went to last month? We could only communicate with them by gestures. My arms were almost cramping from exhaustion.”
“Sometimes I really admire Barty Crouch. He can learn more than two hundred languages. I remember he was also a judge in this Triwizard Tournament, right?”
“At first he did, but recently his assistant has been doing the refereeing work in his place,” Celen said. “When did you and your mother arrive? And your grandfather?”
He didn't know how to explain the fact that Barty Crouch seemed to have been replaced by someone else, so he simply skipped the topic.
