Hogwarts: Don't call me Wandmaker
Chapter 341 A Superb Ship
Chapter 341 A Superb Ship
Viktor Krum's appearance instantly set the entire Hogwarts Castle ablaze with excitement.
As one of the world's most famous football stars, the buzz of discussion within the team never stopped after Krum stepped off that ship.
As he walked through the foyer toward the Great Hall with Karkaroff and Dumbledore, many people jumped around behind him, trying to get a better look at Krum's back.
"For God's sake, Ron, could you please stop jumping? He's just a Quidditch player," Hermione said.
"Just a Quidditch player, that's all?" Ron's voice was high-pitched, as if he couldn't believe his ears. "Hermione, he's the best Seeker in the world."
“So what?” Hermione frowned. “Look at Siren, he’s not like you guys… Wait, Siren, what are you still standing there for? We can go back to the castle.”
"what?"
Xilun seemed to have just come to his senses, and also noticed that he was now the only one left in the area in front of the castle.
The other students were returning to the castle with the professors to prepare for the dinner.
"Ah, I'm coming right now," Xilun said, glancing once more at the large ship moored in the Black Lake before reluctantly turning and walking up the stone steps.
What a treasure! The mast is made of teak that is over 500 years old, the hull is made of white oak that is about the same age, and there is also cedar and mahogany. It is simply a treasure trove.
Although the ship looked dilapidated and like a shipwreck that had just been salvaged, Xilun's intuition told him that it was just a disguise, deliberately made to look like that.
And perhaps because they were constantly influenced by Durmstrang, even after countless years, the magic in those pieces of wood remained abundant, as if they had just been taken down.
Even Garrick Ollivander, who has the most demanding standards for quality, probably wouldn't refuse to cut off a section of the mast and make a superb staff.
The only problem is how to convince Durmstrang's principal to agree to this.
The fact that this ship sailed here on the day of the Triwizard Tournament suggests it must be very important to Durmstrang. If they had directly asked if the mast could be cut down, they would most likely have been refused.
Xilun stroked his chin and walked into the foyer.
“What were you thinking about just now?” Harry asked.
“I’m thinking about what to have for dinner,” Celen said. “I’m a little hungry.”
"Is that so?" Harry asked suspiciously, clearly not believing the explanation.
“It’s sure to be a feast,” Ron waved his hand dismissively and said, “But Siron, do you have a quill and parchment? I want to go ask Krum for an autograph.”
“No.” Xiren shook his head. “But if you really want it…”
He took two beautifully wrapped chocolates out of his pocket, waved his wand gently, and turned them into a quill pen and a bottle of ink.
"Thank you, you've been a great help." Ron accepted it excitedly.
But he seemed hesitant to approach Krum directly, and did not take any action even after everyone had entered the auditorium.
With no other option, Ron dared not do it under the professors' watchful eyes, and had no choice but to sit back down at the Gryffindor table with the others.
He wanted Krum to sit next to him, but Krum clearly preferred Slytherin... In a sense, Durmstrang, who only accepted pure-blood students and taught dark magic, was more like an enlarged version of Slytherin.
The students of Beauxbatons sat with the Ravenclaws... perhaps because the Ravenclaws' blue banners matched their blue silk robes.
After everyone had come in.
"Good morning, ladies and gentlemen, ghosts, and—especially—distinguished guests." Dumbledore smiled at everyone below. "It is with great pleasure that I welcome you to Hogwarts. Before announcing the rules of the Triwizard Tournament, I invite you all to eat and drink to your heart's content."
The golden plates in front of everyone were immediately piled high with food. Several foreign students stared wide-eyed in surprise, never expecting the banquet to unfold in this way.
They thought a waiter would bring the food.
Xilun looked at the food in front of him, food that had never appeared before.
French fish soup, beef stew in red wine... these are all authentic French dishes. There's also pickled salmon and meatballs on the side, which I imagine are from Durmstrang. Xilen tried them; the pickled salmon tasted a bit strange, but the meatballs were quite good, with a unique flavor.
Twenty minutes after the banquet began, Hagrid slipped into the auditorium through a door behind the teachers' table... that's what he was thinking, but he overlooked his own size.
It's hard not to notice a mixed-race giant, nearly twelve feet tall, entering the auditorium.
Xilun spotted him immediately.
"How are those divine rune horses, Hagrid?" he asked.
Hagrid was a little late because he was busy setting up the divine horses.
“That’s fantastic!” Hagrid said happily.
He has always had a fondness for wild beasts, and although the Divine Horses do not have fangs or claws, their enormous size is just as appealing to Hagrid.
“Can I go see them?” Siren asked.
"anytime!"
Just then, a voice said, "You like the Divine Horse?"
The speaker was Fleur Delacour, who had just been with Ravenclaw but was now standing at the Gryffindor table, staring at Sheron.
"I remember you, at the Quidditch World Cup, you withstood the Veela's test."
Her words instantly drew the attention of the others around her, and Ron even shifted his gaze from Fleur to Siron for the first time.
Veela... is that the Bulgarian mascot that made them look like fools in the penthouse box?
Judging from what that girl said, was Xilun unaffected?
“You call that the Veela’s test… well, whatever,” Siron didn’t quite agree with Fleur’s wording, but since she was a guest, he couldn’t really hold it against her.
"You like the Divine Horse?" Furong asked again.
“I suppose so,” Celen nodded. “After all, it’s rare to see those magical creatures in Britain. I’ve only ever seen them in Mr. Scamander’s books.”
“They have quite a temper,” Furong said. “Even we sometimes have a hard time getting close to them.”
“It’s okay, I have a friend who should be able to help.”
“Is that so?” Fleur said, glancing subconsciously at Hagrid who had just entered, while letting out a mocking sneer.
Although the other party was about the same size as Ms. Maxim, it did not mean that he could tame those divine horses.
This can be seen from his hands, which are wrapped in many bandages.
“I can take you there,” she said. “In exchange, can I have this bowl of French fish soup?”
“Ah, no need, no need, I can go by myself.” Xilun instinctively refused Fleur’s suggestion.
He's too busy avoiding Beauxbatons' men to let her come along.
“As for the mixed fish soup, I can’t make that decision on my own. You should ask someone else,” Xilun continued.
"No problem, you can take it."
We've already finished eating.
"It tastes amazing."
Before Fleur could ask a question, the Gryffindors around her spoke without hesitation, and Ron even thoughtfully praised the taste of the mixed fish soup.
