Hogwarts: Don't call me Wandmaker

Chapter 277 Bill Weasley

Chapter 277 Bill Weasley

Siren and Lupin stayed at the Scarab Bar for two days straight.

Although he couldn't go anywhere, Xiren didn't feel bored. During this time, he had already disassembled the magic wand he bought more than a dozen times.

He has also figured out most of the technology for external cane cores.

Simply put, this thing is designed to be a consumable.

Ollivander's wands have at least thirty-three runes on them, half of which are for protecting the wand core, much like lubricant between machines.

But the one that Xilun bought only had thirteen runes, and all of them were for extracting magic power from the core.

Undeniably, such a wand is more powerful, and even underage wizards can unleash tremendous destructive force.

However, such wands are also too easy to break, especially during intense battles, where the wand core is easily damaged.

It's easy to imagine what would happen if you didn't have a wand during a battle.

I'm afraid only wizards who know hand gesture magic would dare to do something like this.

But then again, why would a wizard who knows hand gesture magic need to buy a wand?

Siren placed the restored wand on the table, pondering whether he could improve the design of the external wand core.

Just then, there was a knock on the door, and Lupin walked into the room from outside.

"Professor Lupin, may we leave now?" Siren quickly turned around and asked.

“Oh, Siren, you really don’t need to call me professor…” Lupin said, but then shook his head. “Never mind, do whatever you want.”

He had said similar things countless times in the past few days, but Xilun would always call him by a different name twice, and then on the third time he would call him "Professor Lupin" again.

Whatever, he was too lazy to remind him anymore.

“No, they brought lunch,” Lupin said. “Come and eat something; you didn’t eat anything this morning.”

“I forgot,” Celen said.

He and Lupin walked out of the room and into the dining room.

This room is really nice; it has three separate bedrooms, as well as a living room, dining room, and study.

If this were at the Leaky Cauldron, a day's stay would probably cost one gallon. Unfortunately, the Leaky Cauldron only has standard rooms, and Siron didn't have to pay when he stayed there.

The food they brought was all local specialties, so it's fair to say that Siren was satisfied with everything except for the fact that she couldn't leave.

"So what exactly happened outside?" Xilun asked, taking a bite of stewed broad bean.

“I don’t know.” Lu Ping shook his head. “I’ve asked around, but the market managers are very tight-lipped and haven’t revealed anything.”

"All I know right now is that someone stole something from Gringotts, but I don't know exactly what it is."

"Stealing from Gringotts?" Siren was taken aback, and his first thought was of Voldemort.

Didn't he once control Quirrell, trying to steal the Philosopher's Stone from Gringotts?

And he succeeded; that is, Hagrid took the Philosopher's Stone ahead of time, leaving him empty-handed.

And this is the only person Siren knows who can steal things from Gringotts' underground vault and get away unscathed.

Could it be that he's gone to Egypt again...? No, that's impossible!

Xilun shook his head vigorously.

Putting aside how weak Voldemort is now, and whether he can travel all the way from London to Egypt, even if he really is controlling another wizard to steal things from Gringotts' underground vault, just like in his first year, it's impossible that there hasn't been a sound for so long.

This is not in Voldemort's character.

"How much longer are we going to stay here?" Siren asked.

“I don’t know either,” Lupin said. “But I think it might be soon. They can’t keep us locked up forever. After all, some people couldn’t take it anymore and started protesting yesterday.”

"Ultimately, they're just market administrators and fairies. Unless the Ministry of Magic fully intervenes, it's impossible to keep everyone here. But that's unlikely. While they were indeed involved, once the Ministry of Magic comes out into the open, this matter won't be so easily resolved."

Xilun nodded.

Come to think of it, without the involvement of the Ministry of Magic, why would a few goblins and administrators from unofficial organizations keep everyone here for two days?

Because of their fancy clothes?
In other words, Xilun had been researching Egyptian wands and happened to have something important to do, which is why he wasted two days here.

Otherwise, he would have already presented his foreign travel permit and requested to see Barty Crouch.

But if they can leave soon, Xiren won't bother with this.

After finishing their lunch, the two went to the first floor of the bar, which was the furthest they could get away from... to order a drink.

When Xilun arrived downstairs, there were already many people there, and everyone was very excited and making a lot of noise.

There were all sorts of people saying different things, but Xilun couldn't understand a single word.

But just then, several fairies walked in from outside and started chattering away. It was obvious they were trying to appease the angry wizards.

However, Xilun was concerned, and his gaze fell on the tall wizard who seemed out of place next to the fairy.

Fairies are only about three feet tall on average, so the sudden appearance of a person twice their height is naturally abrupt and attracts attention.

If that's all there is to it, Xilun wouldn't really care.

But he saw familiar red hair on that wizard, the same red hair as Fred, George, Ron, and Ginny.

The other person wasn't particularly handsome, but he looked cool. He had long red hair tied in a ponytail, wore fang earrings, and his dragon-skin boots were exceptionally eye-catching.

“Bill Weasley!” Hillen blurted out.

Upon hearing the familiar voice, Bill, who had been feeling rather bored, immediately turned his gaze over.

But strangely, he didn't see anyone he recognized.

“Bill Weasley!” Hillen called out again, this time waving his hand, finally managing to get Bill’s attention.

"Hello." He walked over, looked at the two politely, and asked, "I'm sorry, but do we know each other?"

“I don’t know him,” Celen said. “But if you really are Bill Weasley, then I know your brother… Ron and I were classmates in Gryffindor, Ron Weasley.”

“Ron?” Bill was taken aback, seemingly not expecting to hear his brother’s name here.

Lupin, standing to the side, only now realized that the strangely dressed wizard in front of him was actually Bill, the eldest son of the Weasleys.

But wasn't Bill Weasley a good student... and the president of the boys' council?

Lupin instinctively thought of Percy.

"How did you recognize me?" Bill asked, looking at Siron. Although his tone was enthusiastic, there was still a hint of wariness in his eyes.

"Has Ron shown you my picture?"

“No, and I didn’t recognize you either.” Celen shook his head and said, “Fred and George are also good partners of mine. I’ve heard them mention that you were a curse-breaker in Gringotts, Egypt.”

"Really? When?"

“Last holiday, before they came to Egypt to visit you,” Siron said, “I just noticed that your hair color is the same as theirs, so I tried calling out to you, and it really was you.”

"I didn't expect to run into Ron's classmate here either," Bill chuckled, his tone noticeably warmer than before.

“It’s too noisy here, this isn’t a place to talk,” Bill waved his hand. “Do you have any rooms here?”

“Yes, upstairs,” Xilun said.

“Then let’s talk in your room,” Bill said. “I also wanted to ask Ron about his recent situation, and whether Fred and George have gotten into any more trouble.”
