Hogwarts: Don't call me Wandmaker

Chapter 260 The Warrior Among the Dementors

Chapter 260 The Warrior Among the Dementors

Xiren never expected that the black hood that looked so much like a Death Eater's would be made so easily by him.

But all he wanted to do was piece together those tattered cloaks so he could better hide among the Dementors.

Siren looked at the hood in his hand with a complicated expression, and tried it on... It fit perfectly, as if it had just been custom-made from Madam Malkin's robe shop, covering his entire body just right.
Moreover, because the cloak belonged to a Dementor, even if Siron did not turn into a cat, he could still stand safely on the field.

Although the Dementors around him could sense the presence of emotions, whenever they approached Siron, they would instinctively treat him as one of their own kind who had come to steal their food, and then simply float past him.

And so, Siren successfully infiltrated the Dementors.

“Dumbledore, of course I will find out the truth.” At that moment, Fudge walked out of the castle.

"But in my opinion, there's absolutely no need for that. This is definitely Sirius Black's conspiracy. I know better than anyone how treacherous and cunning he is."

“My thoughts are exactly the opposite of yours, Cornelius,” Dumbledore said. “I can’t think of any reason why a hero would willingly become a rat and hide as a pet for twelve years.”

"He must be afraid of retaliation."

“But Sirius Black is already imprisoned in Azkaban.” Dumbledore’s blue eyes stared unblinkingly at Fudge. “Voldemort has also fallen, and his Death Eaters are too busy taking care of themselves to seek revenge against him.”

“This…” Cornelius Fudge was momentarily speechless, stammering, “But Albus, we awarded Peter Pettigrew the Order of Merlin, First Class, twelve years ago.”

"If we say now that there's a mistake, and he's actually the culprit, the Ministry of Magic will become a laughing stock."

"So this is your reason for exonerating Peter Pettigrew all this time?" Dumbledore said calmly. "Don't want the Ministry of Magic to become a laughing stock? That's the funniest joke I've ever heard."

Snape, standing nearby, gave a timely, cold laugh.

"Let me remind you, Minister," he said, "that mouse was given a truth serum when he confessed to his crimes, which means that everything he said at the time was true."

Fudge looked even more agitated.

“My dear Severus, I’m sure you know that using truth serum without authorization is illegal, and there are many wizards like that in Azkaban…”

“I think you must have misunderstood,” Snape said, drawing out his words. “I wouldn’t waste my precious potion on a rat. In fact, I’m looking for the guy who used Veritaserum so carelessly. If the Aurors need any help, I’ll do my best.”

Fudge's face turned pale and then red.

He didn't believe a word Snape said. If any other professor had said it, even if it were Vice-Principal Minerva McGonagall, he would have questioned it without hesitation.

But Snape happens to be the head of Slytherin.

As the house with the most pure-blood wizards, Snape, as its headmaster, held a pivotal position among them. Fudge didn't want to escalate the conflict with him unless absolutely necessary.

Fortunately, by this time they had completely left the castle, and the Dementors around them were all involuntarily moving closer to them.

The sudden drop in temperature and the biting cold immediately killed the professors' interest in arguing with Fudge. They all took out their wands and looked warily at the Dementors that numbered like a dark cloud.

The most effective spell against Dementors is naturally the Patronus Charm.

The Patronus Charm is also a happy emotion, and when this emotion is strong enough, it will solidify into a silver creature. However, they cannot attack the Dementors in front of the Minister of Magic; they can only summon enough happy memories to prepare in advance.

However, the professors did not realize how tempting this was for the Dementors.

They had already been starving here for a long time, and the emotions they actively recalled were like an incredibly delicious feast to them.

What the Dementors found even more unbearable was that these feasts continued to emit enticing aromas.

"This is delicious..."

"I really want to take a bite..."

Similar thoughts kept echoing among the Dementors, but they dared not move.

It wasn't the Minister of Magic, but the wizard standing at the very front, that instilled fear in them so much that they dared not approach and could only stand there, inhaling deeply, trying to taste a little bit of the flavor.

But this made Xilun a little uncomfortable.

With each breath the Dementors took, he felt a wave of dizziness, not to mention there were nearly a hundred Dementors around him.

Although the sun was shining brightly, Xilun felt as if he were soaking in a black lake in winter, unable to feel any warmth at all.

However, it wasn't entirely without its advantages; at least Siren could sense that the Dementors were becoming increasingly agitated.

Like a bunch of explosive barrels piled together, even the slightest spark could detonate them.

"Then please help me out..."

Despite his numb body, Xilun forced himself to move slowly to the back of the group, then took out his wand, Silvermane, and waved it gently.

A blue unicorn appeared nearby. Without any prompting from Siron, it immediately rammed into the Dementor blocking its path.

Because it was too rushed, the bullet only pierced the Dementor's shoulder, failing to kill him outright.

The startled Dementor also discovered the unicorn's presence; its pure magic was exactly what it feared and could not accept... Instinctively, it ran in the opposite direction without looking back.

And since Siren was last, it appeared to everyone else that it charged straight at Dumbledore and all the professors without any warning.

The other Dementors were stunned. They never expected that such a warrior would emerge from their tribe. Facing such a dangerous wizard, it actually attacked without hesitation.
Whether it was encouraged by it or could no longer resist the temptation of "food", the second Dementor also moved.

Then came the third, the fourth, the fifth... In a short moment, the entire arena descended into chaos.

Then, a silver phoenix took to the sky... Dumbledore made his move, summoning his Patronus first, but the situation only became more chaotic.

The Dementors had never seen such a powerful guardian spirit before. It seemed that anyone who got close would be burned to ashes. At this moment, they no longer thought about any delicious meal; they just wanted to escape and get as far away from here as possible.
