Hogwarts: Don't call me Wandmaker
Chapter 240 The Marauder’s Map
Chapter 240 The Marauder’s Map
Looking at the familiar parchment, Siron was somewhat taken aback; he hadn't expected Lupin to give it to Harry.
Sirius Black probably already said that this Marauder's Map is now his...
"Sirlen, Sirlen, are you still listening to me?"
Harry's voice brought Cyron back to his senses, and he instinctively turned his head.
"Sorry, I suddenly thought of something else," Xiren said casually. "What did you just say?"
“I said, do you know how to use this parchment?” Harry asked again. “I remember when Professor Lupin gave it to me, he said that if I couldn’t figure it out, I could ask you. He also said that you definitely knew how to use it.”
"Did Professor Lupin tell you this?" Siren asked.
“Yes.” Harry nodded. “So you know what?”
“Ah, I do know.” Although he found it a little strange, Siron took out his wand and pressed it against the parchment.
"I solemnly swear that I will do no evil."
To Harry's astonishment, fine lines of ink, like a spiderweb, spread from where the tip of the wand touched the parchment, quickly covering the entire sheet.
“This is amazing.” Harry’s eyes grew brighter as he looked at the complete Marauder’s Map and the constantly moving ink footprints and names on it.
"Is this some kind of common magical item?" he asked.
“No, that’s not true.” Siren shook his head. “In fact, there should only be this one Marauder’s Map in the entire wizarding world.”
"Then how did you know the password?"
“Because I used it before,” Siren said. “Harry, did Professor Lupin give it to you?”
“It’s not a gift, it’s just a loan,” Harry explained. “Professor Lupin borrowed this from a friend of his after he found out Sirius was looking for me, saying I might be able to use it.”
“Is that so?” Xilun said, his tone becoming more natural than before.
However, Harry didn't notice this subtle change; his attention was already drawn to the magical map in front of him.
"Are all these names real?" he couldn't help but ask.
“If you mean the name represents the person, then yes,” Celen said.
“Look here.” He pointed to Harry’s own name. “You’re in the Gryffindor common room, I’m next to you, and here…”
He then pointed to Filch, who appeared on the third floor of the castle.
“Filch’s name is on the third floor, which means he’s on the third floor right now.”
Harry's eyes lit up, and he whispered, "No wonder Professor Lupin said it could help me."
How can I help you?
“Find Sirius Black,” Harry said. “Professor Lupin told me to keep an eye on him often, so that if Sirius Black is near me, I can spot him immediately, no matter how well he hides.”
"I didn't understand what this meant before, but now I do."
Harry examined the Marauder's Map from all angles. He could even see the people in the Slytherin common room, and once Sirius Black entered the castle, his name would surely appear on the map as well.
This way, he could spot him in advance; Professor Lupin really gave him a good thing.
Xilun was still pondering his words... Should he take a closer look around him?
"So you're here." Just then, Ron walked over from the side.
"Class starts in ten minutes, we'd better hurry up and leave, the North Tower isn't exactly close to here."
“Oh, I almost forgot!” Harry immediately stood up, folded the Marauder’s Map, and put it in his pocket.
Because the command to restore the original state was not given, the Marauder's Map still showed the situation inside the castle.
Ron's name was moved next to Harry's, but their original dormitory name still stood for one other name: Peter Pettigrew.
Harry was in such a hurry that he didn't see it at all.
……
The divination class was the same as always, with a cloyingly sweet smell permeating the dimly lit classroom.
Today's topic is still crystal ball divination.
Professor Trelawney stood in the middle of everyone, looked around at them, and said in her familiar, dreamy voice, "Fortune has told me that your exams in June will involve this orb, and I hope you can practice as much as possible."
"Hmph, come on..." Hermione's voice came from the back of the classroom. She seemed to be talking to Parvati Petit across from her, but her voice was loud enough for everyone to hear clearly.
"Who set the exam questions? She did! What an amazing prophecy!"
Everyone looked at Professor Trelawney, but she seemed not to hear anything, and continued her rambling, unfazed speech: "I don't expect you to see anything on your first visit..."
"Was that really Hermione?" Harry tilted his head in surprise. "To openly contradict a professor in front of everyone, that's not something Hermione would do."
“Maybe she’s just driven crazy by the heavy workload,” Celen shrugged. “At this point, it wouldn’t be surprising if she did something.”
Harry thought of the outrageously thick tomes that Hermione carried with her and nodded in deep agreement.
If he had to watch those things every day, he probably would have gone crazy long ago. Hermione has persisted since the beginning of the school year, which is already quite remarkable.
Fortunately, Hermione didn't say anything more after this little incident.
Harry pretended to look at the crystal ball in front of him... just like last time, he saw nothing but a blurry white smoke.
If I had to say something, it would probably mean there will be heavy fog tonight.
As Professor Trelawney passed by him, her lips moved slightly, as if she wanted to say something.
But after glancing quickly at Xilen beside her, she shut her mouth again, said nothing, and walked over quickly.
Professor Trelawney's specialty was to establish a "key figure" in the classroom and then use various terrifying prophecies to instill fear in people.
Harry was the best choice. He was the "boy who lived," and he was connected to the mysterious figure whose name couldn't even be mentioned. Focusing on such a celebrity was perfect.
But she couldn't do that.
Because it seems there's a student in this class who truly possesses a talent for prophecy... that Ollivander, almost all of his previous prophecies have been correct, including the most outrageous one.
During the first class, Siren said that Harry would have more family ties.
At first everyone was laughing and didn't take it seriously, until Sirius Black appeared near Hogwarts...
After the Christmas holidays, someone revealed a shocking piece of news—Sirius Black was Harry Potter's godfather.
The news spread quickly throughout Hogwarts.
Does the Godfather relationship count as family?
Of course it counts... Even if he wants to kill Harry now, his identity is real.
After that, many people became convinced that Siron possessed a talent for prophecy, and sometimes even she, the actual professor of divination, had to take a backseat.
Unfortunately, he and Harry Potter were paired together.
So much so that his carefully prepared rhetoric was completely ineffective, because as long as Siron objected and then made a more reasonable prediction, some people would subconsciously choose to believe him.
