Hogwarts: Don't call me Wandmaker
Chapter 203 Goodbye Sirius Black
Chapter 203 Goodbye Sirius Black
By the afternoon, the storm seemed to have subsided a bit... well, actually it hadn't, it just got stronger. The gale felt like it was pushing you back, so the rain didn't seem so important in comparison.
But the storm did not dampen everyone's enthusiasm. By the afternoon, all the teachers and students came out to watch the game as usual.
Even Dumbledore came. He stretched out his hand and did something, and immediately the stands became calm, keeping out both the torrential rain and the strong winds.
However, this only applied to the stands; the players remained soaked in the rain.
This was a match between Gryffindor and Slytherin, and the commentator was Lee Jordan, a friend of the Weasley brothers. Because of the heavy rain, he had to strain his neck to barely make out who was holding the Quaffle on the field.
As the game progressed, the cheers from the stands grew louder and louder.
After watching for a while, Xilun was pushed to the very edge by the excited crowd.
In this kind of weather, it's already hard to see what's happening on the field, and now that everyone's been pushed to the outermost edge, it's even harder to see anything; all you can see are the backs of their heads.
There's nothing we can do about it.
Siren could only sigh and reluctantly returned to the castle midway through the match.
There was no one in the castle at this time. Xilun went to the eighth floor, to a secluded corridor.
He took out the Marauder's Map, and after confirming that there were no other people or ghosts around, he walked to a tapestry depicting a troll beating Barnabas with a stick, circled it three times, and silently recited in his mind:
"I need a doghouse that Dementors can't get into... a doghouse that Dementors can't get into... a doghouse that Dementors can't get into..."
After silently repeating it three times in his mind, a door suddenly appeared on the original wall.
Xilun quickly stepped forward, grasped the doorknob, and gently pushed it open.
The door opened, revealing a small room with a tiny house about five feet high. Underneath the red triangular roof were white walls with a semi-circular opening lined with thick layers of dry straw.
A large black dog lay motionless inside the small house, its upper body protruding from a semi-circular opening.
Siron took out his wand and pointed it at him.
The next second, a blue unicorn suddenly leaped out and crashed heavily into the big black dog.
"Ow!"
With a piercing howl, the black dog finally moved, but Xiren sensed that something was wrong.
The black dog lay on the ground, convulsing, howling incessantly, its cries growing fainter and fainter.
Sirius initially thought it was Sirius in disguise, trying to confuse the situation and lower his guard so he could escape... until he noticed the black dog's eyes were rolling back, then he realized something was wrong and quickly cast two more spells on him.
"A revitalized energy!"
"Rapid healing!"
Besides being effective against dark creatures, Silvermane is also particularly useful when casting healing magic.
Two beams of light, one blue and one yellow, struck Sirius one after the other, restoring warmth and softness to his gradually stiffening limbs.
A few minutes later, the black dog finally opened its eyes, and the first thing it did was to turn itself back.
“I feel like I almost died just now.” He lay on the ground, panting heavily. “Whoever you are, you can send me back to Azkaban. You don’t have to torture me like this.”
“I’m just helping you break free from the petrification,” Siren said. “I’ve had this experience myself, and I didn’t feel anything at all. It’s exactly the same as breaking a normal petrification curse.”
Sirius didn't say anything, but it was easy to tell from his expression that he didn't believe it at all.
No feeling?
He felt as if a train had passed right through his chest, shattering him into countless fragments, which were then forcibly reassembled a second later... For a fleeting moment, he even saw his own body, with scenes from his childhood to adulthood flashing rapidly before his eyes.
My first time entering Hogwarts… I met the boy named James Potter… I met Lupin… Harry was born, and he became his godfather…
These scenes are incredibly clear; even the details that were once blurred are now fully reproduced before my eyes.
Merlin's beard, Sirius swears, he's never felt anything like it in Azkaban!
So of course he didn't believe Xilen. But faced with this situation, Xilen didn't know how to explain, so he simply shrugged and said, "I have no reason to lie to you, do I?"
“You… decide.” Sirius sat up, trying to make himself look less disheveled.
"Can you tell me your name?"
“Sirlen Ollivander,” Sirlen said.
“Olivendine…” Sirius clicked his tongue. “So why did you capture me? For the bounty?”
"If so, I can give you more. Not to mention a thousand Galleons, I can give you ten thousand Galleons."
“I’m not doing this for Galon,” Siron said. “If I had to give a reason, it would probably be that I want to help you.”
Sirius stared intently at Sirius, and after a long while, he suddenly sighed.
“Ten thousand Galleons isn’t enough?” he said weakly. “But I don’t have any more right now, unless I go to Gringotts Vault, but as soon as I show up there, I’ll definitely be recognized, and then…”
“I already said, I’m not doing this for Galon,” Siren interrupted him.
But Sirius clearly didn't believe it, insisting that Sirius felt he hadn't paid enough.
That's normal. The goodwill that Xilun has shown so far is nothing compared to the "train magic" just now.
Sirius thought it was practically the fourth Unforgivable Curse, or that it could replace the Cruciatus Curse without any problem.
He knew what the Cruciatus Curse felt like, and more than once. After all, more than a decade ago, those Death Eaters would start with the three Unforgivable Curses, and the Cruciatus Curse was their favorite, second only to the Avada Kedavra Curse.
But when he was subjected to the Crucible Curse, he never saw his own body.
Oh, and that eye he saw earlier was so eerie, it felt like his entire soul had been frozen in an instant.
“Well, perhaps this will add some persuasiveness.” Xiren took out a piece of parchment.
"Marine Point Map?" Sirius blurted out.
“That’s right, it’s the Marauder’s Map,” Siren said. “I saw your name on it, so I rushed down from the Great Hall to the eighth floor immediately.”
"Thanks to your maps, Mr. Bigfoot."
Sirius suddenly raised his head and looked at Sirius in disbelief.
"How could you... no, that's not right, I don't know what you're talking about."
“Perhaps Moonface knows,” Celen said with a smile. “Professor Lupin, he’s now the Defense Against the Dark Arts professor at Hogwarts, he certainly won’t refuse a student’s question.”
"Remus? The Defense Against the Dark Arts professor?"
“Surprised, aren’t you?” Siren said. “A werewolf can become a professor at Hogwarts, but it’s true. You can check it yourself if you don’t believe me; it’s not difficult.”
Sirius felt his mind was completely in a mess.
The person in front of me not only knows that Lupin is a werewolf, but also knows their former nickname. Did Remus tell him that?
Why did Krems do that?
"What exactly is your purpose?" Sirius asked in a deep voice.
“It’s not really about having a purpose.” Siren thought for a moment and said, “Let me put it this way: I made a prophecy for Harry, and now I need to make that prophecy come true. Do you understand?”
Sirius shook his head.
“Okay,” Celen said. “Actually, I want something from Black’s old house.”
“No problem.” Sirius immediately perked up and nodded vigorously. “As long as you don’t hand me over to the Dementors, you can even empty Black’s old house.”
