Kobold Wizard's Journal

Chapter 430 Mischief and Unpredictability

Chapter 430 Mischief and Unpredictability

No matter how many doubts or expectations you have, put them aside for now, enjoy Aiskin's punch to the head, and get a good night's sleep.

There should be steps involved in doing things.

And Ruger knew that when he woke up again, a feast far exceeding his usual portion would be waiting for him.

So this sleep was exceptionally sweet.

Even the occasional vibrations in that space were taken as a lullaby to lull him to sleep. Over the days, he had grown accustomed to these vibrations and could accept them naturally. Of course, not everything could be so perfect. The strange vibrations that gradually penetrated the space walls continued to affect his power, causing his stable spiritual space to heat up constantly and beckon him. He believed that beckoning believers was only one aspect of that power.

Before falling asleep, Ruger had a premonition that this might be the last time he would sleep for a while, so he cherished it and even used Aiskin's power.

Even a good night's sleep eventually comes to an end.

It could also be said that the space was shaking everywhere, the outside world was undergoing tremendous changes, and the irresistible force was constantly scorching him, making it a dream amidst lurking dangers.

He leaped up from the old recliner, smiling as he looked at the sumptuous meal.

As he expected, regardless of whether the food consumption was being controlled, the two kobolds would have prepared a feast and, of course, hot tea when he woke up.

Ruger tried to stop himself from drooling, but before eating, he called over Zamao No. 1.

"My great master, are you summoning me?"

The scraggly one was bouncing around, looking to be in pretty good shape.

“Now I’m giving you one thing, the highest priority: do your best to gather the power of faith. Other than that, you don’t need to do anything else,” Ruger said, looking at it. “My loyal and brave servant, I trust you won’t let me down.”

As if sensing the seriousness in Luger's tone, Hairy Number One straightened up abruptly, gave a very brief reply, and turned to leave.

Not a single word wasted.

Luger laughed as he watched it leave, then began to feast.

The power of faith is actually collected naturally every day, and it is impossible to refuse it. Even gods cannot refuse the power of faith from gathering on them. At most, they can curse or kill a believer to prevent them from contributing to the power of faith. Therefore, there is naturally some surplus power of faith at Zamao No. 1's place. Luger's order is a kind of active collection, which generally requires a group of relatively devout believers to do, as well as some auxiliary means to cooperate, such as organizing people to pray when the enemy is at the gates.

Of course, he believed that his fur wouldn't need to go through such trouble.

This kind of active collection cannot be sustained and can only be used for a short period of time. Of course, he still believes that his fur can last longer.

Because they are pure enough, love their spirit god enough, and love their master enough, a so-called alternative trinity.

As Luger was eating heartily, the space suddenly trembled.

He continued chewing at first, having grown accustomed to these occasional drastic changes, but he soon noticed something was amiss.

Aiskin and Big Sha Heng were both looking around with their heads up. The two dragonborn kobolds had also noticed the tremors in the bedroom space, which was not good news.

Ruger smiled and offered a few words of reassurance, then continued to eat heartily. He wouldn't be coming back for a meal anytime soon; this one meal was equivalent to three or four others.

While eating, Ruger was also subconsciously pondering the sublimation ritual in his mind.

When he came to his senses, he had already finished eating, and with a round belly, he walked to the lab corner with a cup of fruit tea.

He smiled, raised an eyebrow, and placed the cup on the table in the lab corner.

Once he understood those things and realized what a wizard was, he no longer felt that fear. Even as things gradually turned drastically different, he felt more excited about the challenge.

This is a dramatic change outside the bedroom, and it could be a life-threatening event for the group. It also marks a turning point in his life and his wizarding career.

He reviewed his previous notes and his teacher's replies once more, spreading them out on the table. Turning to the lab bench beside him, he began writing and drawing, testing small modifications for easy verification. He wasn't good at many things, so difficulties were inevitable, but overcoming each obstacle allowed him to grow. A small modification to a magic circle was successfully verified, and Ruger smiled. Back at Old Lunser's apothecary, he had only tinkered with silencing magic circles and hadn't had much experience in this area. Old Lunser wasn't particularly skilled in this either; when the shop's magic circles malfunctioned, they had to go to the city to find someone to check them. But these two peeks through that crack in the door had filled many gaps in his knowledge, along with his teacher's explanations. At least he now had a considerable understanding of the specialized magic circles related to these two ascension rituals.

The difficulties he faced stemmed partly from the challenges themselves and partly from the harsh environmental conditions.

The lack of materials for the sublimation ceremony, the absence of experimental conditions, and the tight schedule all contributed to the problem.

The discomfort caused by the gradual changes in his mental space was also urging him on.

After some time, Ruger noticed that Aiskin seemed to have come to see him, but she didn't go into the experimental corner. She just glanced at it from the outside. The fact that she came to check on him meant that more than a day or two had passed.

He glanced at the messy lab corner, then gripped the unfolded notebook with both hands, holding it high and looking at the still-wet handwriting as it fell to the ground.

finished?
Did I succeed?

My stomach was rumbling.

He reached for the water glass beside him, but halfway through, he realized that the glass had been empty for several days.

Ruger withdrew his gaze, abruptly flipped the brand-new notebook to the front, and carefully looked at it from the beginning, as images of derivations unconsciously flashed through his mind.

I don’t know how long it took.

He let out a long breath, forced himself to close the notebook, knowing that reading any further would be pointless.

He could only do this much; many things were beyond his ability to verify and existed only in theory. When he used the advanced technique, it was the first time he would verify it in the world.

Ruger smiled, a smile he hadn't shown in a long time.

This feeling is also quite good. He believes he can overcome the minor flaws by relying on his own abilities, since he has the teacher's approval in the general direction and there won't be any major mistakes.

He clenched his fist and pounded his chest. The body of a dragonborn kobold was indeed durable. If it were a weak, ordinary human apprentice, he probably would have collapsed from exhaustion even after drinking the potion.

He thought for a moment and then released the mental surge of the blessing.

A wave of weariness immediately washed over me.

He ignored it, picked up his pen, solemnly turned to the first page of his notebook, paused for a moment, and then wrote down "The Woolen Shepherd's Mischief"... He suddenly stopped, crossed it out, and finally wrote "The Woolen Shepherd's Hourglass of Impermanence" sublimation ceremony.

The fact that this sublimation ceremony could be completed under such simple conditions was also due to a teacher's reminder: the importance of making choices.

In order to succeed, he sacrificed some things in both ascension rites, and finally obtained this fusion rite that could be considered as the main body of the Fursheher Ascension rite. He believed that he had made a good choice, and that retaining more of the Fursheher Ascension rite would have more possibilities in the future, and might even make up for the things that were sacrificed.

He suppressed the excitement of fighting off drowsiness.

He calmed himself down and examined the state of his mental space. Only when he relaxed a little did he start to cry again.

After reflecting on his experience, he felt he still had time to rest before being promoted.

It was just ordinary fatigue and thirst, not the kind of damage caused by glimpsing the world of knowledge. His body could recover quickly. Of course, it would be even better if he could take a nap before preparing for the advancement.

Rumble! The space began to tremble violently like never before!
Luger looked up at the dome of the bedroom space, his long mouth slightly open. As the master of the space, he actually felt that the space was about to break, and even tiny cracks were constantly appearing. However, these tiny cracks were not enough to destroy it. The bedroom space was constantly repairing itself. But this was not what surprised Luger the most. In the midst of the tremors, he actually felt the aura of the Blood Sun through those tiny cracks. It was the aura of the Blood Sun from the distant City of Burning Blood, an aura of the Blood Sun that was extremely familiar.

As Luger felt the surging vibrations, memories flashed before his eyes, and random associations began to drift uncontrollably through his weary mind.

His mind began to race, a chaotic, uncontrolled mental massage, which started without his control. He recalled his knowledge of the City of Burning Blood, the words Old Lenser had spoken, his experiences in the Nightmare World, and even the unpredictable Aunt Jenny, her unintentionally meaningful words and smiles. She had not come to visit Old Lenser out of nowhere.

And then there's the Blood Sun. Old Lenser said it seemed to be a god, a god imprisoned and experimented on by some wizard.
