Chapter 395 Earth and Blood
Chapter 395 Earth and Blood
He still remembers the process of how this space was born. If many of the things he obtained back then were property that once belonged to Karyu, acquired through the hands of the demigods, then the seed of this space, a precious, colorful, and indescribable fragment of space, was the first gift he received from the demigods, or rather, the real reward paid by the demigods.
In the half-face's mouth, this space is called the corridor space by the atmosphere. It was created to make it easier for Luger to help complete the journey of that half-face.
As Ruger walked along the uneven road, he looked out over this strange space filled with the imprints of his secret techniques.
A small village.
He came to the dark red crevice after a long absence.
There wasn't much renovation here, because it was a forbidden area for the entire small village, and they weren't allowed to get close. They had even instructed the two kobolds to keep a close eye on those mischievous spirits.
Ruger raised his hand and put away his robe.
He wants to experience the abyss firsthand, and if possible, capture a little demon along the way.
While learning potion-making from old Lenser, he didn't learn many recipes, but he adapted to a good learning method: first, he would roughly imitate some of the records in his notes, and then add his own things and ideas, which allowed him to master the techniques more efficiently.
This kind of understanding and modification of the Demon Body spell should have some positive effect.
As Ruger pondered this, his form began to shift. In order to preserve the spells in the temporary spell slots so that they could be used in emergencies, he was empowering each spell he was about to cast.
With the enhancement of spells such as Demon Body and Bull Power, the transformation of his body gradually became complete. To be on the safe side, he even cast Lightness Technique on himself.
Then comes the last one, the first form of foul-smelling skin.
He stepped into the abyss crevice, carrying with him a simple stench, and disappeared into the bedroom space.
He still remembered the rules of this door.
Just like when he uses his bedroom space, he can open the space door anywhere to return to the space, but every time he enters the abyss, he has to go through this fixed gap.
As mental strength increases, perception becomes more acute.
Ruger felt a tightness all over his body, a strange sense of oppression, and knew that he had successfully entered the abyss.
I just don't know where in the abyss this is.
It is said that the abyss has endless layers and is called the place of infinity, but the half-man said with a smile that there is no true infinity in this world.
Luger looked up, glanced around briefly, and then immediately stepped away from where he stood.
He glanced back instinctively, but the ruins of the castle were gone.
This fixed gap is generally undetectable to demons, but since they always appear in one place, the chances of being exposed increase. Demons are extreme beings; they can be extremely stupid or extremely cunning, extremely reckless or extremely patient. When the half-human pointed out the drawback of this gap, he was warning him to be careful.
Ruger leaped forward, his lightness skill allowing him to cover great distances with each step, and the occasional opening of his Nightmare Wings made his movements appear as if he were flying at low altitude.
As he walked, he looked up at the blood-red sky above the abyss, and after a while, it seemed exceptionally low to him.
Before me lay a desolate wasteland, with only a few unidentified, twisted, and strangely shaped trees occasionally visible.
Once he was far enough away, Luger slowed down and retracted his Nightmare Wings, walking casually like a strange-looking demon.
He walked along, carefully observing and feeling his surroundings.
The Demon Body spell seems to last longer in this environment.
With the demonic body, he could cast the Demon Skin spell more easily, which should be related to his casting material, the piece of demonic skin.
A ravine came into view in the distance.
Luger looked over from a distance.
It seemed as if the earth was bleeding. If he were outside, Ruger might have thought it was a spring, but being in the abyss, he instinctively thought it was blood, even before he could see it clearly; it was almost an instinct. The ravine was deep, like a small canyon, with blood trickling down. Ruger suspected it was the color reflected from the sky, but it seemed to be a deeper color than the sky itself.
Ruger moved slowly, not rushing forward, but adjusting his field of vision.
Deep within the ravine, beside the trickling blood, some small creatures lay, appearing from afar as if they were licking the blood that flowed continuously from the earth.
Ruger kept observing.
The little creatures crawled around like maggots without limbs, slowly wriggling and huddling together.
Luger's eyes gradually widened.
Those things scrambled to gather around the blood, and it was from that blood that they were born.
What surprised him most was that the earth seemed to be healing.
The furrows were getting shallower, but not obvious enough, even progress that wouldn't be noticed under normal circumstances. However, the furrows from which blood flowed were very obvious, and the blood was decreasing as the little creatures fought over it. Some of them, unable to get to the front, began to bite each other. They looked a little clumsy without limbs, but their fat, awkward bodies revealed an extreme ferocity.
As the blood decreased, biting and devouring gradually became the main activity in the ravine.
Their mouths and clumsy, wriggling bodies seem never to stop. If they haven't enjoyed the blood gushing from the earth, then their own kind, who have just finished consuming blood, become tempting substitutes.
They seemed to never stop.
Ruger observed for a long time, looked around again, and finally took a step.
These little guys are all weak.
His objective had changed; his first goal was to collect the little blood that was gushing from the ground.
He spread his wings and leaped into the depths of the ravine.
A swift glide followed, and the figure plummeted from the sky, landing abruptly beside the remaining pool of blood, knocking several of the strongest insects away.
"Looks like it can take a beating..."
Luger glanced at the maggot-like creatures that had swarmed around him again like madmen, and took out two large premium bottles from Old Lunser's Pharmacy.
Just as he bent down to collect the blood, a commotion came from the maggots.
Amidst a series of painful sounds.
Click!
The largest maggot, which Luger swooped down on and knocked away, split open with a sound of skin tearing.
Ruger had noticed it long ago.
Of all the fat worms he knocked away, it was the largest. And when those ugly creatures pounced again, this guy landed right next to a mangled carcass and began to instinctively devour his own kind.
With a tearing sound, except for a few that were closest to Luger, which were also closest to the blood, all the remaining strange creatures ran to attack the fat worm that was tearing itself apart.
To Luger's astonishment, amidst a frenzied tearing and biting of their kind.
An ugly little demon, covered in slime and blood, crawled out of the torn, fat worm's body.
Ruger grinned. He touched the ground to confirm that the gushing blood had stopped. He sealed the two bottles he had prepared and put them away. Then he faced the demon that looked like a newborn. Its sharp claws and its slender but powerful barbed tail posed no threat to him.
This is exactly the quintessential little devil described in the notes.
