Kobold Wizard's Journal

Chapter 337 Cleanliness and Purity

Chapter 337 Cleanliness and Purity

Luger looked at these peculiar hamsters. The larger ones were as long as a hand, while the smaller ones, two or even three, could stand on a single hand. When they had nothing to do, they liked to stand there and move their little paws or pull their fluffy tails in front of them to play with.

"You didn't leave immediately because of them?"

Ruger suddenly realized that there was one advantage to these low-quality believers.

While others are developing their followers and fighting over territory, this guy's followers can openly appear on other people's islands. Of course, with such a simple-minded mouse, it's definitely not feasible to breed them directly outside. It might require some methods, or he could personally raise them by his side for a period of time before releasing them back into the wild.

Ruger stroked his chin, lost in thought.

Suddenly, the golden tree that had been unfolding before them burst forth with even more dazzling golden light, growing taller and taller in the light, while also branching out numerous branches.

"These little guys aren't very smart, and they can't provide the same level of faith as human believers, but I love their simplicity and sincerity. I love their simplicity. These hamsters look no different, but they didn't exist originally. I carefully selected several breeds of hamsters and bred them using experiments and druidic abilities," the man said with a smile and a hint of pride. "They are a little smarter than normal hamsters, though only a little. But their simplicity makes some things easier to do."

As the man spoke, he raised his hands to his sides and slowly lifted them upwards, as if to embrace the dome of the endless sea.

Before they knew it, a large number of hamsters had gathered nearby.

As Ruger watched the tree grow, he noticed that some of the previously indistinct patterns were actually translucent hamsters climbing and playing on it.

“Look, this is the moment I have been waiting for. It would be very difficult for a human believer to do this.”

The man smiled and spoke softly, as if afraid of disturbing the little creatures.

As the man finished speaking.

Ruger noticed that some of the hamsters gathered nearby had faint golden spots on their fur, but not every one of them had them.

A large number of swarms of swarms of rats were running around.

Ruger watched as the hamsters, those little creatures with their fur speckled with gold, ran and climbed up the illusory golden tree. They were clearly different from the translucent hamsters; they were alive, yet they could climb the tree that grew and expanded from the wizard apprentice's mental space. More and more hamsters, glowing with a faint golden light, climbed the trunk and ran to different branches.

Some mice that showed no change became increasingly anxious and started squeaking.

“Looks like this step was a success,” the man breathed a sigh of relief, then smiled and said, “Those were just silly little fools who weren’t devout enough, but they’re all good kids…”

Ruger raised an eyebrow, watching this bizarre scene.

A moment later, no more rats were able to climb the golden tree. Under the man's control, the tree slowly shrunk and disappeared into the mental space.

"Are those little creatures still alive?" Ruger asked tentatively, curiously.

"of course."

The man smiled in affirmation.

"They are no different from normal hamsters, and we can release them at any time."

As the man spoke, he reached out, and a docile little mouse appeared in his palm, looking around as it rubbed against his hand.

Ruger raised an eyebrow again.

The fact that the mental space actually took in living creatures, and that they could even live inside, was truly unexpected.

The man smiled, as if he had noticed his confusion.

“Strictly speaking, they don’t really live in a spiritual space. That tree is like their temple; they live in the temple they yearn for in their hearts,” the man said thoughtfully. “Generally, only the most devout believers can enter the temple after death. Of course, this kind of devotion is far from meeting the standard for taking a heart… But there are some exceptions. Before I even embarked on this path, I was very interested in some legends. Legends say that some believers who are devout enough, with pure hearts and clean souls, can travel to the divine realm while still alive… There are many similar stories…”

The man wore a confident and slightly proud expression.

“I don’t know if any other faith-based wizards have tried this before, but now, at this moment, my attempt has proven that it’s feasible,” he said softly. “The reason we didn’t leave before was because of these little guys; we were always just a little short…”

Luger nodded.

Faith in witchcraft is a very broad field, but even if it isn't, he knows very little about it.

The Supreme Council must have some expectations for the various wizards of different levels and qualifications who have been tinkering in the Endless Sea for so many years. They are optimistic about how the power of faith can be cultivated and utilized, and what kind of path it can take. However, the wizards of the Supreme Council have a different concept of time than ordinary people. In the end, they, as ordinary people, may never have the chance to see what will happen.

Thinking of this, Luger curled his lip.

He turned and walked out. It seemed that his recent rambling thoughts had given him a sense of urgency.

In fact, every wizard and wizarding apprentice has a sense of urgency, but the long journey on the path to the extraordinary cannot always be spent in a state of urgency. Sometimes, the most ordinary and methodical persistence is the best response to that urgency, and it is far better than that momentary urgency.

In short, he's going to answer the questions now.

A more cautious approach would be to handle all possible questions thoroughly.

The man who kept the rats followed behind him, and Ruger did not stop him.

He walked for a while and met up with Aiskin and Big Fool, who were waiting in the woods.

They walked at a leisurely pace.

We arrived again near Sir Wagler's mansion, instead of the Twin Temples.

"You're going to get that dagger? Won't that alert him..."

The man gently reminded him, a small mouse playing happily on his shoulder.

"That's not better."

Ruger said nonchalantly.

He was answering questions, not saving people. Regardless of whether it was useful or not, he wanted to deal with all the problematic ones along the way.

"Will you stop me?" Ruger suddenly asked out of the blue.

"of course not."

The man paused for a moment before replying.

"That would be great. You're a very interesting guy, one of the types of people I like, so I hope you can survive."

Ruger curled his lip. He genuinely found this guy quite interesting, so he was being blunt enough beforehand. Although the chances were slim, he was just being cautious. Even if he used a threatening tone, he didn't want another stupid corpse to die, as that wouldn't earn him any points in the assessment.

No need for the butler's guidance.

With the ear-planting technique left behind, Ruger leaped directly into the old knight's mansion.

Ignore the corridors and buildings, head straight to the location of the ear implantation procedure.

The group that had returned soon stood in that room again, and this time there was one more person, or rather, a god of the city.

The exhausted young master Haya was fast asleep. Compared to when they left, in just this short time, the young man's cheeks were no longer full. It was as if he had overexerted himself during his last bout of madness, and the dagger he couldn't get rid of was like an organ, drawing nutrients from him in an unusual way.

Luger gave Big Fool and Aiskin a wink.

He was too lazy to argue anymore.

After the Lesser Sharpness spell was fully activated, he slowly raised his hand.

Big Fool and Aiskin pounced over and pulled Haya's arm straight down.

Luger swiftly brought down his knife.

Haya's screams then rang out.

The man beside him was stunned for a moment, as if he hadn't expected Ruger to be so direct.

Ruger picked up the severed hand that was trembling on the ground, still clutching a dagger, and forcefully pried it open, throwing it to Big Fool. There was also half a bottle of dark green potion left over from before. Big Fool neatly reattached Haya's severed hand, dripped two or three drops of the potion into Haya's hoarse mouth, and watched him swallow it. Then Aiskin raised her fist and knocked Haya unconscious, and that was the end of it.

Ruger, meanwhile, was examining the ornate dagger in his hand, which he held on his fingertips but hadn't yet gripped.

A strange feeling came over me.
