Chapter 184 Determination and Patience

Chapter 184 Determination and Patience
The handsome vampire youth's face suddenly darkened, and he leaned closer, staring intently into Jaxsay's eyes: "If you don't want anyone to interfere with your destiny, you must first make everyone look up to you! There is no other way! My dear cousin, sometimes I really want to strangle you with my own hands, but you never dare to defy me and never give me a chance."

Ruger turned to look at old Lenser and said softly, "This is your shop, isn't it?"

Old Lenser paused for a moment, then nodded.

Suddenly, Jax and Jax attacked simultaneously, and similar magical fluctuations flashed across their bodies.

Jaxay froze and fell straight down.

Ruger blinked. This state seemed somewhat familiar to him. He roughly recognized this spell. Judging from the magical fluctuations he had just sensed, this should be the Blood Shackles.

"Ha ha ha ha."

The handsome vampire youth looked at the motionless Jaxet and suddenly burst into laughter.

"Vampire boy, what do you want to buy? If you're not buying anything, you're not allowed to mess around with my staff in the store. Kids who break things have to pay for them too," Old Lunser said with a sneer.

The handsome vampire youth turned his head to look at him for the first time.

Ruger smiled politely and walked slowly past him toward Jaxet, who was lying on the ground. This guy couldn't be hurt. He was the head chef of Old Lenser's Pharmacy, the master of handling subterranean beast dung, and also the resident shopkeeper. It might sound contradictory, but that's because they call on this guy wherever there's work. There's no difference between being a resident and a part-time job. At the same time, Jaxet was also the most cost-effective experimenter for testing the comfort of sleeping under the stairs.

Ruger approached Jaxet and extended his hand.

Are you ignoring me?

The vampire youth suddenly turned his hands, which were hanging at his sides, so that his palms faced the two dog heads, one large and one small.

It's this again! Ruger sensed the magical fluctuations of the Blood Shackles.

But before he could make a move...

Old Lenser had already unleashed the chains—chains Ruge had never seen before—shooting directly from Old Lenser's gaping maw like two streaks of fire. Only when they pierced the vampire youth's two palms, carrying a scorching heat, did they reveal their true form. The two crimson chains trembled simultaneously, an invisible wave of energy flowing back and forth between them, completely annihilating the vampire youth's magical fluctuations.

Theoretically, piercing the palm cannot prevent the opponent from casting spells. Various habitual gestures and spell-casting actions are like ancient incantations, helping the spellcaster to concentrate and guide their mind. It is like a kind of psychological suggestion driven by habit. Even without making any movements, the spell can be cast normally. The invisible fluctuations on the two chains are the key to eliminating the opponent's spell fluctuations.

The magical fluctuations rose again, and the chains trembled once more.

Although the magical fluctuations were quite subtle to Ruger, and he only noticed them when the chains started to shake, as long as the chains were connected to the vampire youth, Old Lunser could detect them immediately without any mistakes. Even instant-cast spells stored in temporary spell slots would dramatically fail to be cast due to the shaking.

Ruger's eyes widened, and for a moment he even forgot to help Jaxey up from the ground.

He felt that under these circumstances, he could probably only use a spell like Foul Skin, which was both a solidification spell and a spell with extremely high compatibility.

Is this really something a wizard apprentice could do? Ruger felt that he might have underestimated these ultimate wizard apprentices.

"Ha ha ha ha!"

The vampire youth laughed heartily, suspended in mid-air by two chains pulling him to either side, yet he showed no fear and did not even offer any resistance.

He neither resisted nor spoke.

He was just laughing, but that was enough to say everything.

Ruger could tell from old Lenser's face that he seemed somewhat troubled, unsure of how to deal with this vampire youth.

"The third row on the left, the bottom medicine, has the side effect of promoting blood circulation," old Lunser said.

Luger understood and fed the potion to Jaxet to speed up his escape from the shackles of blood.

This guy seems really weak; even with the Blood Shackles on him, he can't speak. Ruger, with a foot still on his face, chatted with the apprentice seeker of magic the whole way. "Mr. Lunser, hand him over to me..."

Jaxet drank the medicine and gradually recovered, though he was still a little unsteady on his feet.

Ruger was about to use his foul-smelling skin to make the laughing guy lose consciousness.

Jaxel had already subdued him. He was quite tall, with thin and large hands and distinct knuckles. He grabbed the handsome vampire youth's face, and layer upon layer of blood, like crystals, enveloped the other's head. At the same time, there were flashes of magical fluctuations of blood shackles.

The two chains transformed into two flames and slowly dissipated.

“Mr. Lenser, don’t worry. I was furious when this guy came to humiliate me last time…” Jaxsay said, dragging the man along the ground with him in his hand. “But when he collapsed just now, I thought about it carefully. What he said doesn’t seem like a bad idea. I will do my best to protect the shop and, in the name of the apothecary, try to take over this place… to stop the other vampires. Of course, this place is still yours, Mr. Lenser…”

As Jaxsay spoke, he dragged his immobile cousin out of the pharmacy, his entire palm wrapped in a layer of blood crystals, forming a mass with the other man's head.

Ruger and old Lenser followed him outside the shop.

"Uncle, what's your method for eliminating other people's magical fluctuations?" Ruger asked in a low voice.

Old Lenser rolled his eyes.

"That's an effect that can only be achieved by combining bloodline ability with two modification spells. You can't learn it. Your magic that can easily make people lose their ability to resist is already very strong. Don't be too greedy..." Old Lunser muttered, his teeth on both sides of his big mouth still flying small sparks when touched, as if because of the spell he just cast.

"Oh."

Luger responded and looked up at the sky.

At the alley entrance, a vampire saw Jaxsay's appearance and chose to retreat.

Ruger pricked up his ears. It seemed that no large-scale conflict had occurred; their situation was simply an unexpected consequence of taking in a vampire ahead of time.

So what are these vampires doing?

A powerful surge of mental energy sent the sound to everyone's ears.

"Blood Fortress can give you all another chance. The blood rain has stopped. Before I lose my patience..."

Suddenly, the conversation was interrupted as a statue slowly floated into the air, rising higher and higher, gradually attracting the attention of many.

Luger nudged old Lunther with his elbow. This was the same reclusive master in their alley who had been dismissed by old Lunther a few days ago.

Old Lenser merely pursed his lips, seemingly unwilling to admit defeat, still appearing very confident in his judgment.

The old man, who resembled a statue, seemed to be silently telling the vampire wizard something.

"A second-circle wizard? Such a dense and peculiar curse power, it's truly astonishing, but you are still no match for me," the old vampire wizard said, laughing. "Hahaha, your identity? Your identity is none of my concern, and I will not care. Similarly, I can promise not to interfere with your affairs, and you should not interfere with the affairs of Blood Fortress."

Old Lenser nudged Luger beside him with his elbow.

Luger tilted his head back and blinked involuntarily.

The hermit in his mind seemed to have reached some kind of agreement, slowly descending and returning to his original position to continue basking in the sun with relish.

"The lives of vampires are ancient and great, but my patience has its limits," the vampire wizard said again.
