【Brief Comment】

The author has only this book under his name, and it has been created for 54 days. It is a new account. The performance of the book is not very good. The current collection is just over 1, there is no leader, the first order is 1100, and the subscription ratio is 7, which is a bit high.

I've been reading this book in bits and pieces, and I always feel like there are some things that aren't quite right. First, the title seems to be a play on popularity, inspired by the popular novel "Reborn in the Red Era" by Wan Ding, which is based on a Siheyuan fanfiction. However, Wan Ding's novel is about Siheyuan courtyards, so the content is a bit off. But generally speaking, they're both period novels, so the difference isn't stark.

I've been reading quite a few period novels lately, and I've developed a particular fondness for stories set in the 1970s and 1980s. Partly because the people there were generally quite simple, and their responses to the radical new era were different, making it easier to portray distinct characters. Plus, the sheer volume of popular TV series has instilled a curiosity in many people about stories set in those times.

The book's starting point roughly matches the above description. The protagonist, Li Qingfeng, travels back in time to the 1970s. As the third child in his family, he faces the dilemma of moving to the countryside and finding employment. Especially since his youngest sister has graduated from junior high school, someone in the family must quickly move to the countryside, or else the city's grain supply will be cut off. This is a problem that affects the family's livelihood and presents a major challenge for street officials and entrepreneurs.

The original owner's strategy was to become a deadbeat, never proactively seeking solutions, but instead to delay as long as possible until he was sent to the countryside. This trend has completely vanished from history. After his soul travels back in time, the protagonist possesses a personal space capable of storing a considerable amount of supplies. He leverages this to trade on the black market, gradually building a reputation. He chooses a rather domineering name for himself, even displaying a gun to confront thugs attempting to rob him. After word spreads, no one dares to draw attention to him for a short period, which in a sense serves as free advertising for himself. The plot, however, feels rather sloppy, lacking key points or general expressions. The paragraphing and punctuation are haphazard, defying strict writing standards. Given the nature of this everyday narrative, the author's depiction of the dinner table conversation fails to highlight family harmony, instead imbuing it with a sense of coldness and discomfort, creating the impression that the relationship between parents and children is not only uneven, but also bordering on a broken bowl.

However, the author is clearly working hard to create a smoother plot, with a faster pace, and to deliver the much-anticipated rural scenes as quickly as possible, with the desire to switch maps becoming increasingly apparent. Sure enough, new dungeons opened up after the game was released, and for a well-prepared protagonist, the usual challenges are hardly a problem.

Overall, this book has few highlights and some flaws that are easy to spot. The pace is a bit slow at the beginning, and the characters are inconsistent and not very likable. Many people struggle to keep going. However, from the perspective of current period writing standards, it is acceptable.
