Chapter 15 0014 [Let’s go, let’s go]

The road in front of the school extends from east to west.

The two people were planning to travel in opposite directions.

Bian Guanyue looked puzzled and spoke at length, a rare occurrence: "Are we waiting for the bus here? Every time I come back from Chengdu, I always go to the city first, then take the bus to the county's East Bus Station."

Chen Guiliang explained, "The school is located in the northeast of the county, and the East Railway Station is in the southeast. If we take the route you mentioned, we'll need to take a bus here, cross the entire county, and then transfer to a bus. Once we get to the city, we'll have to cross half of the city before we can get to the place where we can repair our computers."

"Oh." Bian Guanyue didn't ask any more questions.

Chen Guiliang told the truth, but he didn't tell the whole truth.

The routes that Bian Guanyue often takes are all urban roads and provincial roads, and the driving speed is definitely much faster.

The route chosen by Chen Guiliang was a rugged county road throughout.

I can’t go any faster even if I want to!
The distance between the two roads is about the same, but the county road takes more than three times as long as the provincial road because rural buses often stop along the way.

In a daze, Bian Guanyue got on a rural bus.

The car's dilapidated state even made her forget her sorrow temporarily...

Half of the car windows were broken, either not opening or closing properly or with entire panes missing, and many were broken and held together with scotch tape.

The seats are side-by-side benches with an iron pipe frame and artificial leather seat and backrest.

Due to long-term use, the leather seat and backrest were full of holes of various sizes. Some of them even had the sponge inside pulled out, and some seats were just empty metal frames.

There are also rural buses in better condition, but those good buses do not run the entire route, they only run on the sections with the most passengers.

"Can this car still be driven normally?" Bian Guanyue was stunned.

Chen Guiliang said with a smile, "This car is only a few years younger than your parents. If it were four or five years ago, it would have had a huge natural gas bag on its roof."

Bian Guanyue asked: "Will the bus company be scrapped?"

Chen Guiliang pointed at the driver and conductor and said, "They're scrapped. But we sell them to them at a low price, and they specialize in driving them along rural roads. They don't belong to the bus company, they're just individual operators outsourcing rural routes."

As she spoke, the female ticket seller became impatient: "Where are you going? Buy your ticket quickly!"

Chen Guiliang took out 11 yuan and said, "Two people, go to the train station."

In the afternoon, it was a rural route again and there were very few passengers.

In addition to Chen Guiliang and Bian Guanyue, there were only two farmers returning home from the county town on the bus.

Chen Guiliang was just about to find a good seat when the driver stepped on the accelerator as if he was in a hurry to attend a funeral.

Bian Guanyue was carrying a schoolbag on his back and holding a laptop in his arms. He couldn't stand steadily while walking and fell towards the back of the car.

Chen Guiliang quickly hugged him and almost fell down together.

Fortunately, he was prepared and grabbed the back of the seat next to him with his other hand.

To prove his innocence, Chen Guiliang yelled, "You're going to die! You're driving so fast and you're standing there without seeing anyone!"

The driver said nothing.

The female ticket seller was a tigress: "If you want to sit, sit. If you don't want to sit, get your ticket back and get out!"

"I'm going to complain about you!" Chen Guiliang immediately retorted.

Bian Guanyue broke free from his embrace, pulled his sleeve and advised: "Forget it, let's not quarrel."

Chen Guiliang then stopped talking and led Bian Guanyue to choose a seat.

They picked two seats of slightly better quality, Bian Guanyue by the window and Chen Guiliang by the aisle.

Not long after I sat down, the driver slammed on the brakes again.

There is a big pothole ahead, and I plan to slow down and go around it.

Bian Guanyue was completely unprepared for this and was thrown forward involuntarily. Just as he was about to throw himself forward, the driver swerved the steering wheel to avoid the big hole, and Bian Guanyue was thrown into Chen Guiliang who was standing next to him.

"Exciting, right?" Chen Guiliang laughed.

Bian Guanyue couldn't care less about anything else and quickly protected the notebook in her arms. She was afraid that if she wasn't careful, the computer would be completely smashed to pieces before the car even reached the city.

After going a short distance, the car speed became extremely slow.

But the turbulence suddenly increased, and my butt flew up and just landed back on the seat, but was shaken up into the air again.

Bian Guanyue had completely forgotten her sorrow. With one hand tightly clutching her laptop and the other hand gripping the rusty iron bars of the front seatback, she complained in frustration, "Why hasn't this road been repaired?"

Chen Guiliang said, "It was even worse before. There wasn't even a cement road. When it rained, there were puddles, and the car windows lacked glass, so passengers sitting by the windows would get splashed with mud and water. When I was in junior high school, a cement road was finally paved, but it was demolished after just six months. The rotten cement road was even bumpier than the old gravel road."

Looking at the smile on Chen Guiliang's face, Bian Guanyue felt very upset.

She seriously suspected that Chen Guiliang did it on purpose!

If he had known that the road conditions here were so bad, Bian Guanyue would definitely have chosen another route.

Swaying left and right, flying up and down, their bodies collided with each other from time to time.

Bian Guanyue said nothing, sitting there with full concentration, as if he was facing a war.

Seeing her like this, Chen Guiliang didn't say anything, so as not to upset her.

After a full hour, the car arrived at a slightly larger town.

Then, he stopped moving.

The female ticket seller held the ticket box in one hand and the door in the other, half of her body leaning out of the car, yelling at the top of her lungs: "Train station, train station, the train is about to depart! Train station, train station..."

Seven or eight passengers got on one after another. There was no one outside, but the female conductor continued to shout.

Bian Guanyue asked, "How long will it take?"

Chen Guiliang recalled carefully: "It usually stops for more than ten minutes. When there are very few passengers, I have seen it stop for more than 40 minutes. When I woke up from a nap, the bus still hadn't left."

Bian Guanyue had eaten only a few mouthfuls of lunch, had a huge argument with her mother, then quietly sobbed, and then spent an hour battling wits and courage with the bus. Now the bus had stopped, and she was feeling relaxed and drowsy. "Help me hold this," Bian Guanyue handed over the notebook.

Chen Guiliang reached out to take it.

Bian Guanyue took out the MP3 from his schoolbag, put on his earphones and prepared to listen to music.

After listening to a few sentences, she felt that this was not a good idea.

Chen Guiliang even skipped his afternoon classes and took her to the city to get his computer repaired. How could she just listen to music and relax without Chen Guiliang?
"Listen to it." Bian Guanyue handed over the MP3.

Chen Guiliang accepted it without hesitation. After distinguishing the left and right earplugs, he immediately put one on himself and put the other into Bian Guanyue's ear.

Bian Guanyue was so frightened that she hid toward the car window. She was not used to being so close to people.

"Put it on. You won't get pregnant while listening to music together." Chen Guiliang said without question.

Bian Guanyue had already hidden her head outside the car window, and Chen Guiliang continued to follow her with earplugs in his hand.

She had no way to avoid it, but was too embarrassed to turn against him, so she was forced to share a pair of headphones with Chen Guiliang.

"Get some sleep."

Chen Guiliang decided to quit while he was ahead. He stared at his MP3, played a few songs, and then leaned back in his seat, closed his eyes, and dozed off.

Bian Guanyue looked at the notebook in his arms and wanted to ask for it back several times, but after thinking about it carefully, she felt that there was no need.

He was indeed tired, and Bian Guan Yue closed his eyes.

"Love starts from zero, testing how rational two people are."

"When I found the words we wrote at the beginning, I realized how much we loved each other..."

Sun Yanzi's "Love from Zero" came from the earphones, and Bian Guanyue's pretty face turned red inexplicably.

It was the first time I shared earphones with someone of the opposite sex to listen to music, and I heard such ambiguous lyrics.

What a coincidence, isn’t it?

Chen Guiliang also thought it was a coincidence that he chose it after only cutting four songs.

Bian Guanyue opened his eyes and took a peek at Chen Guiliang who was sleeping next to him. His profile seemed to look more handsome, and his thin cheeks were not so sunken.

"I don't like him at all. He's a liar and he even tricked that school girl!"

Bian Guanyue closed his eyes and rested again, but did not take off his earplugs and continued to listen to Stefanie Sun's songs.

Time passed by minute by minute.

The conductor's voice was well-tested, and she still kept shouting, "The bus is leaving, the bus is leaving, hurry up and get on if you haven't already!"

No one responded, and she had been shouting for more than ten minutes in vain.

The female conductor angrily closed the door and yelled at the driver, "Hurry up and leave. What are you still doing standing there?"

This driver was most likely her husband, who had spent his entire life crossing the Shudao Mountains.

The driver said nothing and suddenly stepped on the accelerator.

A passenger fell backwards, hitting the back of his head on the iron bar of the seatback. He immediately cursed, "Can this son of a bitch drive?"

"What are you howling about, you devil?" the female conductor immediately yelled back, and the quarrel echoed in the carriage.

They all have bad tempers and swear a lot.

Bian Guanyue was half asleep and half awake. She was unaware that the driver suddenly started moving and also fell backwards.

But she didn't hit the rusty iron bar of the backrest, but hit the palm of Chen Guiliang's hand. This enthusiastic classmate blocked it for her with his hand.

Suddenly waking up, Bian Guanyue understood the situation and quickly turned to look at Chen Guiliang.

Chen Guiliang pulled his hand back and said with a smile, "You're welcome. Helping others without asking for anything in return is what we red scarves should do."

Bian Guanyue was at a loss whether to laugh or cry. She turned her face towards the window and the corners of her mouth couldn't help but curl up slightly.

Shortly after passing the town, the bus went crazy again.

Bian Guanyue couldn't sleep at all. Because Chen Guiliang helped her hold the computer, she could hold on to the iron bar of the front seat back with both hands this time.

After finally passing the bumpy section, Bian Guanyue had just relaxed her vigilance when the car made a sharp turn and threw her off course, and then she collided heavily with Chen Guiliang.

Bian Guanyue couldn't help herself and finally asked the question in her heart: "Did you do this on purpose?"

Chen Guiliang looked innocent: "The driver is driving, what does it have to do with me?"

Bian Guanyue said: "You chose this road on purpose!"

"I've always taken this route, and I'm not familiar with the route to the East Railway Station." Chen Guiliang refused to admit it.

As he was speaking, the driver slammed on the brakes, but someone was waving at him from the side of the road.

There are no bus stops on rural roads, so people can stop and pick up passengers anytime and anywhere.

"what!"

"Driver, please drive slower!"

Bian Guanyue slammed into the iron bar of the front seat, leaving a red mark on his forehead.

She was going crazy.

Chen Guiliang gloated and almost laughed out loud.

The usually aloof and reserved woman who only spoke two or three words has now become so lively and outgoing that she even greets the driver.

This bus trip has only traveled half the distance, and it is sure to be an unforgettable experience for Bian Guanyue.

A disguised suspension bridge effect. Chen Guiliang didn't read so many books in vain.
