This Warhammer game is awesome!!
Chapter 183 A Heavy Blow, It Must Be a Heavy Blow!!
Chapter 183 A Heavy Blow, It Must Be a Heavy Blow!!
The warp is vast and boundless, inhabited not only by gods and demons, but also by a huge number of strange and ugly beasts.
These warp beasts are ferocious predators, ravenous and greedy, constantly thinking about satisfying their bloodlust.
These beasts typically live in places where the curtain is thin.
Their bodies are composed of flesh and blood in one part, and non-material parts in the other.
In this way, they can hunt at the edge of the subspace and reality.
These warp beasts vary greatly in appearance; no two are exactly alike.
If one had to find a common thread among them, it would be the eyes that grow all over the body, radiating a scorching red light and endless malevolent desire.
Suddenly, a strange roar rang out.
A warp beast, resembling a hunting dog but larger than a calf, leaped out from the dense darkness.
It has two heads, and there is a slit in its chest cavity, through which you can see its heart beating powerfully.
With each pulse, small plumes of black smoke are emitted, and magma-like blood flows visibly within the veins.
Its hairless body was covered with alarming cracks, from which an eerie red light emanated.
When it roars, you can see its sharp fangs, as well as the sparks and smoke that shoot out.
The purpose of this warp beast was very clear: it wanted the little alpaca at the front.
It let out a vicious roar and strained to open its blood-red maw.
The stench of fish and sulfur mingled together, creating a hot and foul-smelling gust of wind as it moved.
The alpaca ducked to avoid the attack of the warp beast.
The players behind her immediately raised their guns and fired at the beast.
boom! boom! boom!
A muffled gunshot rang out in the dimly lit corridor.
The warp beast that lunged out of the darkness had its head blown off by a single shot.
The immense impact sent the body flying several meters, leaving a long, scarlet trail on the ground.
"These guys are never going to stop," Grey Baby complained.
"Stop talking nonsense and let's go. We must clear this dungeon this time." The little alpaca said as it stepped inside.
Together they defeated the monster, obtained the "Demon's Codex," and then ventured deeper into the demon realm.
I'm preparing to retrieve the legendary relic longsword, 'The Duty of Light'.
There weren't any powerful demons or warp beasts along the way; it just got more and more difficult to travel the further you went.
The subspace not only merged the ships, but also distorted the corridors and rooms along the way, forcing them to take longer routes.
Thick darkness, like a protest, enveloped the decaying bulkheads.
The creaking of twisted metal, the hissing of old exhaust pipes, and the dripping of broken water pipes mingled together.
The closer you get inside, the stronger the oppressive atmosphere becomes.
The beams of light projected by the power armor don't extend very far before being swallowed up by the darkness.
The diffused light gilded the edges of objects outside the radiance with a faint silver rim.
Objects within sight are blurry, details are unclear, making it difficult to judge distances.
In the most remote and darkest areas, it is not just shadows that lurk.
"This place is getting more and more creepy." Yuzu Sauce looked around warily. "If it could be replicated in real life one-to-one, it would definitely beat all the other haunted houses on the market."
Grey Baby, holding a chainsaw dagger in one hand and a bomb pistol in the other, strode forward in a standard fighting stance.
"By the way, what do you guys think of this place compared to the Ishimura?"
"Do you play Dead Space too?" the alpaca asked curiously.
“I play all kinds of games, not just Dead Space, Silent Hill, Resident Evil, etc.,” said Grey Baby. “I don’t really like making friends, so I mostly stay at home playing games.”
"These are all horror games, you dare to play them?" Yuzu-chan glanced at Gray Baby.
"You'll get used to it after playing a lot," said Grey Baby. "If you're really scared, you can turn off the music. Half the horror effect in horror games comes from the music; without it, many parts aren't actually that scary."
"I feel like we've gone off-topic. You guys still haven't said which is scarier, the Twilight or the Ishimura?"
The alpaca shrugged. "Imagine you're without your power armor and weapons, and you have no companions with you. What would you do?"
“I’ll turn around and run away,” Grey Baby said. “This space ship is like hell. Not only are there all sorts of ghosts and monsters, but also all kinds of strange-looking beasts. I feel like my SAN value is about to be reset to zero after I came in.”
"Didn't you already give the answer?! The Ishimura is only scary because of those mutated corpses, but the Twilight is not just full of mutated corpses."
The alpaca shrugged.
"Without power armor and without the Emperor's protection, you'd be dead after just a few waves of demons and warp beasts."
"It's also possible, like you said, that your SAN value will drop to zero, you'll go completely insane, and eventually be torn to pieces by those wild beasts."
Yuzu Jam nodded, deeply agreeing with the alpaca's words.
"Bao'er, you yourself said that half of horror games rely on music, how can the Ishimura compare to the Twilight?!"
"Just standing here, without any music, you can feel the eerie atmosphere."
"If you want to be a contrarian, say you don't feel it."
"My suggestion is to take off the power armor and experience it firsthand."
Grey Baby shook her head repeatedly.
"Forget it, the sight of writhing flesh and tentacles on the walls gives me the creeps. You want me to take off my armor? I'd rather die than do that!!"
Are you kidding?
In such an environment, her armor is her greatest protection.
Not just physical, but also spiritual.
Wearing this armor gives me an overwhelming sense of security.
Regardless of what kind of monsters or demons they are, they all feel they can have a go at each other.
"Scared already?" Yuzu-chan teased.
"It's not fear, it's just pure disgust. Look at these wriggling tumors and tentacles on the ceiling of these corridors, it's just awful," Grey Baby emphasized. "I don't want to touch them!!"
Laughter came through the communication line.
"If you're scared, just say so. Why make so many explanations? This godforsaken place is only safe because there are a lot of people around. If there were fewer people, we would have turned around and left."
"Warhammer Online is really a hodgepodge, it has everything. It even has ghosts, I don't know what other tricks the developers can come up with."
"+1, I think Warhammer Online could totally incorporate all the games on the market, since the galaxy is so big."
"........."
The players chatted as they walked inside.
Although occasionally warp beasts or twisted demons would emerge,
But they had long since become accustomed to this terrifying atmosphere of constant jump scares.
If you're unsure about the situation, fire a shot first. If there's any movement, fire a few more shots. If there's a lot of noise, throw a grenade. If there's no movement, keep moving forward.
They would also paste purification prayers from the state religion on the walls along the way to dispel subdimensional energy.
Since we can call on outsiders to deliver supplies at any time, we don't need to worry about logistical issues such as ammunition resupply.
After several brief but intense firefights, the group safely passed through the corridor and arrived at the abandoned black ship.
There are two types of black ships. The first type is the Tribunal's black ship, a special strike cruiser used by the Tribunal.
These ships will be equipped with various weapons, making them very powerful in combat.
Sometimes they also bring Deathwatch and Grey Knights with them on missions.
Ships often house and imprison large numbers of psionic life forms, warp creations, and ancient artifacts.
Simply put, the Tribunal's Black Ship is a mobile containment base.
Another type of black ship is simply used to transport psionicists and belongs to the Black Ship Alliance.
The Black Ship Alliance is one of the two major branches of the Star Language Academy, the other being the Psionic Academy.
The armor of these black ships is made of psionic inert materials and is covered with an anti-psionic shield, which is managed by the Silent Sisters.
The Black Ships Alliance operates independently of the Imperial Navy and consists of a large fleet responsible for collecting and transporting psionicists.
They roam the galaxy, collecting tithes from psionicists.
Every hundred years, a black ship would visit each imperial world.
When a black ship approaches a planet, its ruler is required to hand over all the psionic beings on that planet.
Corrupted psychics are usually executed on the spot.
Those psychics with pure souls and strong bodies would be taken away by the Black Ship and sent to the psychic academy under the Star Language Court for a second selection.
During this process, qualified psychics will be retained and trained.
Those that don't meet the standards will be sent to Terra to be burned as firewood.
"Be careful, this is a judge's black ship."
The baby alpaca warned its companions.
They are about to explore the ship once used by Inquisitor Adorkin.
It not only houses psionicists, but also all sorts of strange and unusual things.
After checking their ammunition one last time, the players stepped onto the black ship.
The Black Ship was essentially a prison ship, with most of its area converted into cells.
The cells were covered with powerful pentagram protective shields.
Unfortunately, all those pentagram formations were destroyed.
"It's a pity everything is gone."
One player looked at the empty cell with a hint of regret.
"I thought I could find some aliens or special containment objects or something."
"Would you like a wishing lamp?"
"That sounds pretty good, but I have a question: is it the one from a fairy tale, or the one your best friend has?"
"What are you thinking? In the Warhammer Universe, you still want the fairytale version? It's definitely the same one as the Queen of Best Friends!"
"Then let's forget it, I can't afford it."
"........."
As the players examined the empty cells,
A strange whisper echoed from the darkness of the corridor.
This immediately put the players on alert, causing them to point their guns into the darkness.
The player nicknamed "Cute Master," whose eyes were mostly white, listened for a moment.
He then stepped past the crowd, walked to the front, and called out into the darkness.
"Come forth, servants of the lost empire."
Immediately afterwards, a thin mist rose from the darkness.
Pale figures emerged from the darkness. They had no physical form; their outlines emitted a white light, like ghosts from legends.
They were numerous, including soldiers, servants, and jailers.
"Is this a spirit?" Yuzu-chan asked, a look of surprise on her face.
"The science of the Warhammer universe has been dealt another heavy blow."
"The case is solved. Warhammer not only stitched in Cthulhu and its genes, but also in evil forces. Otherwise, how could it even have ghosts?"
Grey Baby made a humorous remark.
"I just wonder when the Wen brothers will make an appearance?"
The adorable protagonist walked up to the undead.
"We are servants of the Emperor. Who is your leader? And why are you lingering here?"
At this moment, the spirits separated.
A man dressed as a court acolyte approached the adorable lord and the alpaca, and performed the Eagle Salute to them.
“We are the servants of this ship. You may call me Vogel. I, and these men, serve Judge Adorkin.”
"Did you come here because you received my master's biosignal?"
The ghost's words left the players looking at each other in bewilderment.
The little alpaca stepped forward and asked, "Yes, is she still alive? Is she a living person, or is she a ghost like you?"
"She is dead. When she killed the demon, her soul and the souls of those Grey Knights were swept into the depths of the warp by the psychic power that erupted from their deaths."
A hint of sadness flickered across Vogel's ghostly face.
"This is really not good news."
The little alpaca shrugged, raised her bomb gun, and pointed it at Vogel's head.
"Since Adorkin is already dead, why would she send a message?" "I sent it," Vogel readily admitted.
"So, this is a trap to lure us into a snare?" The alpaca placed its finger on the trigger.
The blessed bomb can easily kill even ghosts.
"No, I just want someone to come and retrieve my master's body. She did so much, she shouldn't be buried here with the demon."
Vogel spread his arms, making a gesture of resignation.
"You can kill me, but please, for the sake of my master who gave everything for the empire, take her and the corpses of those Grey Knights back with you."
The little alpaca hesitated for a moment, then looked at the adorable creature beside him, "Was he lying?"
"No." The adorable one shook his head.
The alpaca turned to Vogel and said, "Take us to the remains of Judge Adokin."
Vogel's ghost leads the players deeper into the Black Ship.
At the same time, he told them about the things that happened in the past.
After discovering the demon that had haunted her for life, Judge Adorkin decisively led her team on a pursuit.
After a chase that spanned half the galaxy, Adorkin used a scheme to lure her enemy to the Black Ship.
They joined forces with the Grey Knights to kill him.
But she and the gray knights who accompanied her also lost their lives.
The demon's psychic surge before its death killed the servants of the Black Ship and hurled it out of reality into the warp.
Warp beings discovered them on the Black Ship and attempted to exterminate the surviving souls.
Thanks to the protection of the legendary artifact 'Duty of Light' and the Black Ships' design against psionic energy,
They were given a chance to catch their breath and learned how to fight those demons.
However, as time went on, they could also feel themselves being corrupted by the warp little by little.
"Is that the Demon's Tome hanging from your waist?"
After recounting the past, Vogel noticed the gilded book tied with a chain around the alpaca's waist.
“Yes.” The alpaca still pointed the gun at Vogel; she didn’t entirely believe him.
Who knows if the operations team will have some weird mischief and create some plot holes!
Better safe than sorry.
It's always good to be cautious.
"There is a ritual in the book that can set a bound soul free."
Vogel said,
"Could you perform this ritual for us before you leave?"
"It depends."
Vogel sighed at the alpaca's indifferent response, but quickly rallied his spirits.
"It doesn't matter if you don't want to, just take my master and the corpses of those gray knights away."
"They were all good people and shouldn't be buried here with the devil."
"You've already said it once," the alpaca said impatiently. "I don't want to listen to your rambling anymore. Lead the way."
Led by Vogel, the players reached the far end of the spine-like corridor that runs through the entire Black Ship.
They arrived at the door of a cabin sealed by layers of frost.
"This is it."
Vogel stepped across the threshold first and entered the cold cabin.
The players followed closely behind.
Inside was a church, with a huge imperial sculpture standing there.
The bodies of the five Grey Knights were scattered throughout the church, frozen into ice sculptures.
A woman clad in power armor, covered in ice and snow, wielding the longsword 'Duty of Light,' plunged it into the demon's corpse.
The demon's corpse was spread out on the ground, enormous.
It has tentacles, eyeballs, and a wide-open mouth filled with jagged fangs.
It was also covered with a thick layer of frost.
“Have Brother Agamotto send a transport ship so we can bring our hero home.”
The alpaca put away its bomb gun.
They obtained the 'Duty of Light' from the corpse of Judge Adorkin.
This sword possesses unique power.
Upon first touch, I felt a surge of heat flowing into my body along the hilt of the sword.
Dispel the chill brought by the winds of the subspace.
"Thank you for your kindness."
Vogel bowed to the alpaca.
“If the corpses can return to the Empire, the souls of my master and these knights will surely return to the Emperor’s side as well.”
The little alpaca looked at Vogel and raised an eyebrow slightly.
"Aren't you going to say something more? Like begging me, and I might grant you mercy."
"I would be grateful if you could take the bodies of your master and these knights back; I dare not ask for more," Vogel said calmly.
The little alpaca was somewhat surprised. "You should know that without the protection of the 'Duty of Light,' you'll be torn apart by those warp demons once you re-enter the warp, right?"
“Perhaps that is our destiny. We have fulfilled our duty and have no regrets in dying,” Vogel said.
"Never mind, let's just consider it doing a good deed."
The little alpaca opened the "Devil's Handbook".
This book involves a great deal of taboo knowledge.
It documents the Grey Knights and the Inquisition's knowledge of demons, various sacred rituals used for exorcism, how to fight warp creatures, and lists the true names of many demonic entities.
The little alpaca turned to the chapter titled "Redemption" and recited the verses from it.
The bound souls found redemption in the chanting.
Their bodies turned into specks of light and dissipated in the air.
Only some silvery-white dust remained.
“Thank you for your kindness,” Vogel said excitedly. “Thank you so much, thank you so much.”
Then, he turned into specks of light and disappeared.
"I didn't expect the storylines for these ghost NPCs to be so well done," Hui Bao'er said, leaning closer.
"I thought it would be all about killing! I didn't expect there to be a redemption story. The developers really put a lot of effort into this. I love it!"
Yuzu-chan's rating for Warhammer Online is getting higher and higher.
This game is absolutely fantastic!
Even the dungeons are so in-depth.
"Stop talking nonsense and put these silver dust away," the alpaca said.
"What's the use of this thing?" Gray Baby asked, puzzled.
The little alpaca said,
"We don't know yet, but it might become a rare forging material when the game is updated."
"Let's put it away for now, it won't take up much space anyway."
…………
The Glory of Macurag
Qin Yun and Guilliman discussed for hours how to rebuild the empire.
The more Guilliman talked, the more he felt he had met Qin Yun much sooner.
They all share the same heart for farming, rather than simply for conquering and destroying.
"Honestly, I would gladly sacrifice those traitorous brothers in exchange for you becoming my brother."
Towards the end of the conversation, Guilliman sighed with emotion.
Qin Yun: "…………"
"Even if I weren't your brother, I'm afraid you'd be happy to sacrifice those few, wouldn't you?!"
“Your Excellency, this is the first time I have ever seen you so greedy and cunning.”
Guilliman burst into laughter.
"Alright, let's stop here. We still have a lot to do. I might have to leave soon to join the war."
"The Great Raiders are still trying to expand the Great Rift, pushing forward their evil plan known as the 'Crimson Path'."
"If he succeeds, he will open a path between the Eye of Fear and the Solar System, at which point Terra will have to face the Chaos Army."
"What's even more critical is that several key subspace navigation hubs within the Solar System have been seized by the forces of Chaos."
"Currently, only Wollas is in our hands, which is equivalent to the Great Raiders trapping us. If we do not retaliate in time, we will be isolated in the Solar System and lose control of most of the Empire's territory."
“I understand.” Qin Yun nodded. “With me in charge of Terra, you can go on your expedition with peace of mind.”
"........."
As Qin Yun and Guilliman stepped out of the secret room, Sicarius rushed over with bad news.
"The Fifth Fleet, which was assembled at the Uranus equator, encountered an accident. The subspace engine of the Blazing Embrace exploded, four ships were sucked into subspace, dozens of ships were severely damaged, and three star fortresses were paralyzed."
"The court has intervened in the investigation and initially suspects it was a man-made accident."
"Immediately ascertain the casualty situation and salvage the lightly damaged ships."
Anger flashed across Guilliman's face, but was quickly suppressed by his reason.
Anger is pointless.
He had to minimize the losses as quickly as possible.
"A heavy punch, we have to use a heavy punch."
Qin Yun also frowned.
This is clearly an extension of the political struggle in Terra.
These guys have gone mad.
The survival of humanity is less important to them than the power they hold in their hands.
P.S.: I've finished writing the story of the wrecked ship. Next, I'll write about the Spring of Terra.
Brothers, let's keep going!
