Chapter 282 Changing Everything

Do you want to change all of this?

The night sky was desolate, with the bright moon hanging high and countless stars twinkling.

Spider-Man stared blankly upwards at the stars, which had long since been destroyed, their afterglow still taking millions of years to reach Earth before finally fading away.

These countless stars, spanning two universes, have had over 99% of their mass transformed into cold, nano-swarms of bees.

These swarms of bees acted like porters, piling up and sealing off planets that had once nurtured life, places that left traces of the zombie virus, along with their mass, into the event horizon of the black hole.

Perhaps, one day, all the supermassive black holes in the two parallel universes will slowly merge in the river of gravity, eventually forming two unprecedented behemoths that devour the universe.

Or perhaps, deep within the singularity of these two cosmic-mass black holes, entirely new universes will be born. Or, after an unimaginably long period of time, the ultimate black hole will also follow the laws of thermodynamics and quietly evaporate, and the two parallel universes will fall into complete silence.

At that time, will the countless consciousnesses imprisoned in the zombie virus network still be able to feel pain?
he does not know……

But what if?
What if, by then, this zombie virus network, which is suspected to be on par with cosmic deities, still exists?

When will the endless torment of the countless consciousnesses trapped within end?

"Of course I want to, how could I not want to change..." Spider-Man murmured, his voice hoarse and unpleasant.

His face, torn from his own skin, was contorted with pain, his muscles trembling uncontrollably, and his exposed teeth shattering under the immense pressure.

Blood spilled from the corner of his mouth, mixed with fragments of broken teeth, and he wailed incoherently, "I'm so scared, so scared of tomorrow, so scared of falling back into that empty cage."

"But what can I do? I've tried everything I can think of, I really can't find any other way out!" he shouted hoarsely.

Why do we have to go through all this damn disaster?!

He stretched out his hideous, bloodied hand and gripped Fang Zheng's hand tightly, his eyes filled with desperate pleading: "So, please, help us! Whoever you are, please help us! No matter the cost, no matter what I have to do, please!"

Although he had temporarily reverted to human form and could no longer hear the constant wails and cries for help echoing in his ears, he knew in his heart that this was only because he might just be a copy of the zombie Spider-Man's consciousness, temporarily severing his connection with the zombie virus network.

He was still certain that right now, right beside him, right at his feet, lay countless zombies that had died in the time loop.

These people, killed in the time loop, freed from the prison of rotting flesh and blood, only to fall into the torment of nothingness and eternal hunger, still scream in silent agony.

Everyone is an isolated individual, unable to hear the voices of any of their companions.

Only the eternal nothingness, hunger, and endless lucidity compel them to taste the pain again and again in the vortex of memories.

This is a billion times more terrifying than the most brutal physical torture; it is an endless torment.

Fang Zheng answered matter-of-factly, "Sure."

"Everyone can decide their own behavior. You can shape your personality, and your behavior will attract people who agree with you to help you. And I will help you too."

"But have you really thought this through? What kind of help do you need? What kind of self-awareness and change are you hoping for?"

“I…” The overwhelming joy instantly overwhelmed Spider-Man’s tense spirit.

With the passage of time and reflection on the past, his mental state has recovered considerably.

He deduced that when he sealed off the two universes using the spacetime silencing device, even the Observer race, which had long since evolved into pure energy beings, would have to pay a huge price to break through the seal.

This is also why he was able to confirm that the time loop had been broken.

The force that causes the zombie sentinels to repeatedly travel through time and trigger time loops is precisely the spacetime interference carried out by the observer in order to contain the zombie virus.

If this force of spacetime interference can be blocked, the time loop can naturally be broken. Any being capable of entering the universe under these circumstances, regardless of the method used, must possess an extremely considerable power behind it.

If such a being exists, it might truly be able to contend with the power level of the zombie virus.

He gripped Fang Zheng's shoulders tightly and answered urgently, "I want to liberate all the souls in this universe that are imprisoned and tormented by the zombie virus network!"

Fang Zheng tilted his head, a smile on his face: "Really? Is that enough?"

"That's enough!" Spider-Man shouted excitedly. "I'll pay any price to free them!"

Fang Zheng gently shook his head. "No, that's not enough."

“Come with me first.” He held out his hand.

Spider-Man asked, puzzled, "Where to?"

“Go to the past, go to the beginning of everything.” Fang Zheng grabbed his wrist and then took a step forward.

……

"That's enough!" Spider-Man shouted. "As long as it frees them, I'll pay any price..."

"Huh?" Suddenly, Spider-Man realized that everything around him had disappeared—the sky, the earth, gravity—everything vanished into utter nothingness.

He was alone, along with the boy in front of him.

Fang Zheng extended an invitation to the Spider-Man: "Let's go to the end of time."

……

In the sunset over New York City, atop the Empire State Building, the zombie Spider-Man continues his long, drawn-out wail, bathed in the last rays of the setting sun…

But at that moment, the sky and the earth suddenly disappeared, leaving only boundless nothingness.

In the void, only the zombie Spider-Man remained. He stared blankly at his faintly glowing hand. "Am I dead? Have I been captured by the zombie virus network? Well, that's fine..."

He sighed deeply.

But then, a path shining with light was opened up in the void.

"A glowing road? Isn't this inside the zombie virus network?" After some doubt, Zombie Spider-Man stepped onto the road.

Looking out, he saw a vast, crimson expanse of land writhing and throbbing, with noise a thousand times louder than a vegetable market constantly assaulting his brain.

Upon closer inspection, he realized that the "earth" was actually composed entirely of himself—countless zombie Spider-Men.

Oh no, looking into the distance, there were also many huge screens erected in the crowd, displaying a mix of bloody and mangled Spider-Men, as well as many teenagers with the same faces whom I had never seen before, explaining something to the countless zombie Spider-Men.

So, what does this world look like in Fang Zheng's eyes?

Although he still appears in human form, what Fang Zheng sees is far more than just the human world.

In his eyes, the zombie Spider-Man is all of them, at every point in time. In these two parallel universes with a similar timeline, from a macroscopic timeline perspective, Spider-Man is like a wriggling worm.

Based on each divisible, fixed smallest unit of time, they collectively form an endless, forward-extending four-dimensional worm whose three-dimensional direction of travel changes with Spider-Man's actions.

This four-dimensional worm as a whole is Spider-Man, or at least a part of Spider-Man.
