Hogwarts: Becoming the White Lord from Breathing

Chapter 3 Professor McGonagall is surprised

Chapter 3 Professor McGonagall is surprised
"When did you first become aware of the existence of magic?"

Professor McGonagall's voice was low and serious, with a hint of professionalism that was hard to ignore.

In response to the question, Damon smiled and held out his hand, palm facing up.

As far as he knew, Professor McGonagall was an absolutely good person, and Damon felt more at ease showing his talent in front of her than in front of Dumbledore.

After all, the old bee might still have concerns because his talent is too good and consider how to treat him carefully or even arrange him.

But Professor McGonagall would probably only consider whether to let him play Quidditch in the future.

However, the reason why Damon wanted to show off his skills was actually more of an interaction with the character - if the witch in the book appears in front of you, don’t you want to chat with her?

"At first, it was a little hard to grasp, but now it's almost as easy as pie."

Damon stood tall and straight, talking eloquently. As he looked, a faint ripple gradually appeared in the air above his palm.

Then, a feather pen on the table quickly floated into the air and, under Damon's control, drew an elegant arc in the air.

"I can feel that magic is a part of my body, moving according to my will, and even - changing."

As soon as he finished speaking, the quill fell into Professor McGonagall's hand and turned into a fountain pen.

Damon met Professor McGonagall's gaze and bowed slightly, elegantly and calmly.

Professor McGonagall's eyes were full of surprise and admiration. She leaned forward slightly and carefully observed the pen in her hand, her gaze behind the glasses very focused.

"Damon, I have to admit, considering your current age and academic background, this is quite astonishing." Her voice was strict yet gentle. "To be able to have such precise control over magic before entering school is extremely rare, even among new students at Hogwarts."

McGonagall couldn't help but think of the 'boy who lived' Harry Potter.

Even that child probably couldn't do this at this moment, right?
But Hagrid said that the child has obtained a wand of great significance.
Professor McGonagall straightened up and asked curiously:
"How did you do it? There's no one here to teach you magic. Did you figure all this out on your own?"

Seeing Professor McGonagall's serious yet slightly curious look, Damon showed a funny expression on his face. It was really wonderful to see the characters in the book unfold such a vivid scene in front of him.

"I figured it out myself. After receiving the admission letter, I realized I had some talent, and that talent shouldn't be wasted.

While I was waiting, I began to try to sense this gift, to master it.”

Damon looked directly into Professor McGonagall's eyes. When he heard the words "in the days of waiting", a hint of apology flashed across the other's eyes. He smiled slightly and said:

"As for my method of exploration, it can be summed up in six words."

“Perceive, apply, reflect.”

The young man had a slender figure and could answer questions fluently even when standing in front of Professor McGonagall. His posture was like a tall poplar, exuding an innate elegance and confidence.

Mag listened to the method the boy said, looked at his soft and delicate face, and was uncontrollably attracted by his deep blue eyes. These eyes were very smart, and the twinkling light in them was like stars, full of curiosity about the world and a desire to explore.

With such gestures, such words and such talent, this child will surely become an outstanding graduate of Hogwarts in the future.

Seeing that Professor McGonagall seemed a little dazed, Damon smiled, leaned over gracefully, and asked softly:
"professor?"

"Well, I just remembered an old friend."

Mag coughed lightly, trying to hide his absent-mindedness, but his eyes still hid the uncontrollable amazement.

"You said it very well. The fact that you can come up with such a method shows that you are extremely intelligent."

She paused unconsciously for a moment, thinking to herself:

Perhaps, she should tell Dumbledore about Damon's situation in detail. After all, only he could plan the most suitable growth path for Damon.

A talent like Damon, if guided properly, will surely become the backbone of the magic world in the future; but if there is a slight mistake, he will go astray.
Thinking that Tom also came from an orphanage, Professor McGonagall's eyelashes trembled slightly, and she thought of someone whose name must not be mentioned. When Dumbledore found Tom in the orphanage, could he have felt the same way as she did now?
Professor McGonagall suddenly understood Dumbledore a little.

But she quickly came to her senses and drove the thought out of her mind.

No, with her as the child's guide, he will definitely get on the right track.

Professor McGonagall calmed down and said to Damon:

"Child, please wait here for a moment. I'm going to talk to your mother, the headmaster, about something."

Along the way, she had witnessed many incidents caused by Muggle parents' different attitudes towards magic, and was now very familiar with the situation.

But when it came to the child Damon, Mag suddenly found herself getting nervous again.

However, everything went more smoothly than she expected, which even made her feel a little angry.

When she offered to take Damon away, the dean agreed without hesitation, without even asking any questions.

Her reaction was calm, with neither doubt nor trust, she just accepted the decision.

Damon did not make any comment on this matter. He just nodded calmly and said goodbye to the dean.

The two of them were calm, but Mag was a little bit restless.

Not a worry, not a doubt.

She imagined an earnest inquiry, or at least some concern for Damon's future plans, but none of that happened.

Mag's expression turned colder, and without making any further fuss, he took Damon away in silence.

Her indifferent attitude surprised the dean's mother and even made her worried. However, after seeing Damon just smiled and waved goodbye to her, she gradually calmed down.

As soon as Mag took Damon out of the orphanage, he snorted coldly.

When Damon heard Professor McGonagall's hum, he looked at her with some doubt and asked softly:

"Professor, what happened?"

Professor McGonagall looked down at Damon, a complicated look flashing in her eyes:
"Just now, I told your headmaster that I was going to take you to Hogwarts. She let you go with me without any hesitation or questions. If it were any other parents, they would definitely ask me repeatedly to find out my identity."

Damon was stunned for a moment, then suddenly laughed, and his expression towards Professor McGonagall became a little gentler:

"Professor, you misunderstood. I have already told the dean that someone would be coming to the school.

The dean is just as confident in me as you are, believing that the choices I make won't be wrong, and that the people I follow won't be bad people. That's why he's so relieved."

"Oh—that's it!"

After Professor McGonagall heard this, the dissatisfaction in her eyes instantly disappeared, replaced by a hint of self-blame.

"I misunderstood her. Next time we meet, please apologize to her for my rudeness."

"Well, I will."

What a good boy.

Mag looked at the smiling Damon, as if he was infected by him. A rare gentle smile appeared on his usually serious and calm face.

"Come on, I'll take you to Diagon Alley."
