Chapter 182 Ron's Change

"Hehe!!!"

A warm current returned to every inch of Harry's body, spreading to his fingers and toes. Before his eyes was a golden torrent, and beyond the sky were the sounds of fleeing like a howling wind—the moment the golden dragon appeared, the Dementors that had almost blotted out the entire sky vanished in fear.

Harry watched this scene and felt as if something had exploded down his spine, leaving him numb!
He subconsciously glanced at Ron—who was also looking at him, and they both saw the tremor in each other's pupils.

"What a powerful Guardian Angel Spell!" Lupin's gaze towards Damon grew even more reverent, and he said calmly, "..."
"Was that a Dementor? Why did they attack the students' carriage?"

"We should get the answer soon."

Damon put away his wand and returned to the carriage. His nonchalant attitude, as if nothing had happened, made Lupin sigh inwardly.

Then, he took out a large bar of chocolate, broke off a piece, and handed it to Harry and Ron:
"You must have felt really bad just now, right? Eat this, it will make you feel better."

Harry followed Lupin back to the carriage. Inside, everyone was still in shock, staring at Damon and glancing at Lupin out of the corner of their eyes.

"The monster we just saw was called a Dementor? What's that?"

Ron handed the chocolate to his trembling sister Ginny and asked her a question.

“A dark magical creature.” Lupin distributed the chocolates to everyone, then looked at Damon and said, “Master White, I’m going to the front of the car to talk to the driver now. Although I don’t think those Dementors have the guts to come back, I’d appreciate it if you could keep an eye on this place.”

After saying that, he walked out of the carriage and disappeared into the aisle.

"Oh my god—what did you just encounter? I feel so cold, like I've fallen into an ice cave."

Ginny's emotions had calmed down a bit. She still had her arms around herself and subconsciously looked in Damon's direction—she wished she could sit next to Damon, as it would make her feel safer.

Just thinking about it.

"I couldn't see anything clearly. I only saw an arm reaching out from the darkness, and then I heard loud breathing."

Harry's heart was still pounding after he sat down, and he shared what he had seen with the others.

"Dementors are dark magical creatures that guard Azkaban and feed on people's happiness—but it seems that they can absorb far more than just that."

Damon picked up the book again and shared the information with everyone.

"No wonder I felt like I would never be happy again—was it because of the Dementors?"

Ron recalled the feeling from earlier, his expression turning strange.

Hermione put her arm around Ginny comfortingly, her expression stern.

"How did the monsters guarding Azkaban get here? Could it be related to that escaped prisoner—Black? Are the Dementors here to capture him?"

As everyone was discussing, the train suddenly jolted and started moving again.

"Blake actually managed to escape from such a terrifying monster? It seems he's even more capable than we thought."

Ron was objectively analyzing the prisoner's fighting strength, unaware that Hermione was looking at him with some dissatisfaction—Harry is right here, why are you boosting the enemy's morale while diminishing your own?
“It’s nothing, Damon could do that easily too.” Harry looked at Damon, his eyes gleaming. “Was that dragon spell just now... also a kind of magic? Can Ron and I learn it?”

Ron was stunned for a moment, then he also became excited!
"Yeah, we've been talking about Dementors, but what was that creature that was coiled around you just now? Some kind of magical creature? I've never seen such a cool creature before!"

“That is my guardian spirit.” Damon chuckled softly, raising his right hand slightly—a divine dragon radiating a pale golden light extended down his arm, its head resting quietly on the back of his hand.

"The only way to deal with Dementors is to use a Patronus to drive them away. Each person has a different Patronus, and it takes a lot of effort to create such a physical entity—and each person's Patronus is different."

"Ah—does that mean I can't have a Patronus like that?" Ron looked dejected, while Harry became even more excited—what would his Patronus be?

"Can we learn this spell?"

“Of course you can, but this spell is very difficult, and you probably can’t master it yet—especially you, Harry. You should focus on another spell right now.”

Harry knew Damon was referring to Occlumency—he hadn't told Hermione and Ron about the splitting of his soul yet. He really didn't know how to bring it up.

Moreover, just as Damon and Dumbledore didn't tell him in the first place—there's no need to talk about problems that have no solution; it will only bother more people.

"Another spell? Harry, have you been secretly taking extra lessons behind my back?"

Ron then looked at Harry.

哈利急忙转移话题:

“Damon, I think I’ve got it pretty good. We can still learn the Patronus Charm—that can protect us too.”

"Hmm—then let the new Defense Against the Dark Arts professor teach you; he knows this spell too."

“That Professor Lupin just now? Is he alright? I mean, he looks a bit frail.”

“Ron, haven’t you understood Professor Lockhart’s matter yet? What you see and hear is not necessarily the truth; only time can verify everything.”

Hermione gave him a serious lecture.

"I never expected you to bring this up on your own initiative. Do you no longer care about Professor Lockhart?"

"Of course, I didn't care about this matter at all."

Hermione's voice suddenly lowered.

Ron and Harry didn't laugh at her; they both knew how infatuated Hermione had been with Lockhart.

Hermione's willingness to use something she once cared deeply about to warn Ron at this moment further demonstrates her sincerity.

"Thank you, Hermione."

In the past, Ron would never have been so frank.

But now, his style of doing things is becoming more and more like Harry and Damon's.

"No—it's okay—I shouldn't have said that to you. You actually know perfectly well, don't you?"

“Of course—Professor Lupin and Damon noticed the Dementors approaching immediately and even walked ahead of us. Just based on that, I think he would be a good teacher.”

“Then what did you say earlier—” Harry asked, somewhat surprised.

"Dude—just take it as me being too quick to speak."

Ron pursed his lips, while Ginny, who had gradually calmed down, forgot her shyness after being bewildered by the Dementors and suddenly spoke up, true to her nature, retorting:

"Ron, you're such a jerk."

"Hey! Ginny! How could you say that about your own brother!"
