Hogwarts: Becoming the White Lord from Breathing
Chapter 167 The Horcrux Ravenclaw's Crown
Chapter 167 Horcrux - Ravenclaw's Crown
"Come on, Damon!"
Harry yelled and closed his eyes—he didn't want to see himself die; he wanted to fight his reluctance.
As if sensing his impending death, Voldemort's fragment of soul stirred Harry's heart wildly—he felt himself trembling, his throat quivering—he wanted to beg for mercy, but he would never!
Harry heard Damon chanting a spell and wondered what kind of magic Damon would use to kill him.
If he could, he would prefer the Divine Shot—he and Ron had long coveted this unique skill, but even after Damon told them the trick, they still couldn't learn a thing—their magical skills were still far from the world's top spells.
Harry's eyes were tightly shut, and his whole body was trembling violently.
In this immense fear, he heard the name of the spell.
"Legilimens!"
A sudden gust of wind rose from the ground, making Harry almost lose his balance—but his mind was even more adrift than his body—with his eyes closed, Harry felt as if an invisible hand was grabbing his head from the air—he felt his cerebral cortex trembling, as if something transparent had been squeezed and taken away.
What followed was a strong sense of detachment.
Harry was about to fall to the ground when a hand caught him. He opened his eyes and saw Dumbledore with an extremely gentle expression.
"I really hope your parents can see what you just did; you were so brave, far exceeding my expectations."
Harry, the courage you've shown is on par with those wizards who fought Voldemort to the death during his heyday!
"Professor, thank you."
Harry hadn't expected Dumbledore to say that, but he also found that he wasn't as excited as he had imagined—being recognized by the most powerful white wizard and by the respected Dumbledore was something he had always dreamed of, and even now, Harry still considered it the greatest honor.
But why is the heartbeat not even one percent of what it used to be?
Harry turned his head and saw that Damon had already put away his wand.
"Alright, now Voldemort can't eavesdrop on our conversation."
“What did you do to me—I mean, aren’t you going to kill me, Damon?”
"Brother, you're my prized possession, how could I bear to kill you?"
Damon patted Harry on the shoulder—but Harry's expression didn't soften.
"What about Voldemort? What did you do with Legilimency?"
He had to admit that while the scene he had just witnessed excited him greatly, it also chilled his heart. He realized that he would one day die at the hands of his own people.
The feeling was so unbearable that Harry hadn't even fully processed what was happening before his heart had become completely numb.
"Something must have happened at Voldemort's place that neither Dumbledore nor I could quite understand—which caused the fragments of your soul to become more active, almost to the point of awakening—in my perception, it's as if there are two souls inside you."
"Just now, I seized the moment when your emotions were at their strongest and completely shut down your brain—for as little as half a month or as long as a month, your thoughts will become extremely restricted, and the evil side will be completely suppressed by me—I'm sorry, I didn't want to do this, but it was the only way."
"It's okay, but what do we do next?" "Come with me."
He led Harry and Dumbledore to the Room of Requirement—Harry was even more confused.
'I need a place to hide my crown, I need a place to hide my crown.'
Damon silently repeated the command to himself, walked back and forth three times, and then opened the Room of Requirement.
The three entered a room as spacious as a church, and the surrounding scenery looked like a city—composed of the things hidden here by thousands of students who were no longer alive.
Even the slowest person would realize that Damon had something important to do.
Harry and Dumbledore followed him quietly.
The three passed the troll specimen, the huge black cabinet, and looked around the passageway between the garbage heaps—Damon quickly lost his patience, took out his wand and waved it—countless floor tiles were lifted up and transformed into dense hamsters crawling in all directions.
A flood of information flashed before Damon's eyes—bottles, hats, boxes, chairs, books, weapons, brooms, baseball bats.
Then he saw an old cabinet with a bubbly surface. On top of the cabinet was a half-body of a wizard covered in pockmarks, wearing a dusty old wig, and something that looked like an old, faded crown.
Bingo, found it.
Almost the instant he saw the crown, Dumbledore was already amazed.
"The Ravenclaw tiara? That thing has been missing for centuries, and it's here! How did you find it?"
"It's a long story."
Damon overlooked this problem—it was the last place he knew of where Horcruxes were hidden, and he never came to deal with it.
But to be honest, he now felt he should get serious—the plot had changed in ways he didn't know about, and Harry being affected by Voldemort's soul fragments happened later in the story; he was only in his second year.
Damon decided that after dealing with the crown, he would use the Pensieve to examine his original memories, locate the remaining Horcruxes, and destroy them all—just thinking about it gave him a headache.
The Horcrux fragments on Harry's body can only be removed by Voldemort himself using the Killing Curse; no one else can do it. If something really happens to Voldemort, it will be quite troublesome to achieve this.
However, he could only take it one step at a time—if all else failed, he wouldn't actually kill Harry; he could simply let Voldemort live.
All seven soul fragments were intact, and he didn't cause any trouble. At worst, he would kill them each time they came.
It's time to put teaching Harry Occlumency on the agenda and get this done sooner rather than later.
Damon picked up the antique crown and gently blew on it—his breath transformed into a gust of wind, dispersing all the dust and revealing the crown's original, magnificent form—a jewel set in the center, with Ravenclaw's famous motto engraved along its base.
Extraordinary wisdom is man's greatest treasure.
After confirming that this was indeed the crown, Damon casually tossed it to the ground—Harry's eyes twitched at the sight of the legendary treasure being treated this way, and he instinctively felt a pang of heartache.
What is Damon's purpose in bringing Ravenclaw's tiara, a legendary artifact said to grant the wearer extraordinary wisdom? Is he using the tiara's power to find a way to resolve the fragments of Voldemort's soul?
Then, he heard Damon's incantation again, wand in hand, his expression serious.
