Pokémon: Who let him leave Pallet Town?
Chapter 575 Northward Township, Emerald Green Town
Chapter 575 Northward Township, Emerald Green Town
"Strange"
On the deserted island, Loreton had no choice but to land.
Natsume leaned back in his chair, glancing at the camping tents below, his face showing a conflicted expression.
He originally thought that the yew research team might have discovered something like a cave or ice cave somewhere on the island and entered it.
This is why the Eye of the Sky couldn't find any trace of their activities.
Natsume searched for most of the day, scanning inside and out with his telekinesis, but found no relevant location.
It looks like an ordinary little island, with absolutely no possibility of any internal space.
"never mind."
Natsume rubbed his temples, feeling a headache coming on.
The disappearance of Dr. Yew's team was a situation he absolutely did not want to see, and it had a significant impact on his future plans.
But continuing to search like this isn't a sustainable solution.
He turned his head and gazed at a huge island in the distance.
That's Kitakami Township, which has a Pokémon Center. Professor Yew's team must have resupplyed there.
“Let’s go, Lollerton, let’s go for a walk around town.”
Emerald Green Town.
Natsume strolled slowly along the town's only stone-paved main street.
The afternoon sun shone through the gaps in the branches and leaves, casting dappled light on the clean stone path.
The streets are lined with old wooden houses, with faded curtains hanging under the eaves that sway gently in the breeze.
Several small shops were open.
Baskets filled with fresh tree fruits were piled up at the entrance of the grocery store, emitting a faint fruity fragrance.
A porter was helping the shop owner carry a bag of flour into the shop, beads of sweat appearing on his forehead.
The rhythmic clanging of metal came from the blacksmith's shop, mixed with the soft "popping" sounds of lava worms wriggling in the furnace.
The town is very small; you can see the whole thing at a glance.
In the distance, there are rolling green mountains, with neatly terraced fields at their foot, and several Tauros strolling leisurely by.
Along the edge of the field, several sheep lay lazily, their fluffy wool occasionally flashing with faint sparks of electricity, and the wires wrapped around nearby wooden stakes crackled softly from time to time.
The air was filled with the smells of firewood, earth, and a faint, distinctive odor of disinfectant from the Pokémon Center.
Several elderly people sat on a bench by the street, basking in the sun, with a few dozing hyenas lying at their feet.
Upon seeing Natsume, a complete stranger, they merely raised their eyes slightly, their gazes calm, carrying a casual, rural air that was not offensive.
In the small square in the center of town stands a stone sculpture, which seems to depict some kind of Pokémon from local legends, with the stone base worn smooth.
Right next to it is the Pokémon Center, its red roof standing out against the greenery.
The whole town was quiet and slow, exuding a long-lasting tranquility that seemed to have been steeped in time.
Natsume paused in front of the Pokémon Center, his gaze sweeping over the glass door before turning towards a narrower alleyway.
Loletton shrank in size and quietly followed half a step behind him, his golden pupils scanning the surroundings warily, somewhat out of place in the tranquil atmosphere.
"Emerald Town?"
Natsume looked around suspiciously.
Compared to the well-equipped towns he saw in the game, this place felt more like an undeveloped rural village.
Without giving it much thought, Natsume pushed open the door and entered the Pokémon Center.
His world doesn't even have the Padia region, so it's normal that Kitakami Township's worldview is different from the game's.
"Oh, are you from out of town?"
As soon as she stepped into the Pokémon Center, a pile of boxes as tall as a person wobbled as she walked over, supported entirely by a pair of slender hands.
Natsume's eyes gleamed with gold as he helped Joey lift the box and place it on a shelf not far away.
"Natsume's champion?"
With the box no longer obstructing her view, Joey's figure became clear, and she immediately recognized Natsume, the rising champion who had gained fame in Unova.
"Mr. Champion, why did you send back the box I was carrying halfway?"
Joey stood with his hands on his hips, looking puzzled.
Natsume: "."
After helping Joey move the boxes, Natsume revealed the purpose of his trip.
"Miss Joey, have you run into Dr. Yew and the others recently?"
"Dr. Yew?" Joey frowned upon hearing this.
“Dr. Yew arrived here about six months ago, seemingly searching for something.” Joey paused, his worry deepening.
"The last time we met was at the end of last month, when their team borrowed my Almost Doll."
At this point, Joey waved his hand in distress.
"understood."
Natsume nodded thoughtfully.
No wonder Joey was carrying all the things by himself.
But did they borrow more than a few dolls?
Is it possible that the Yew Tree team is facing many battles?
Natsume frowned.
Indeed, in some areas with low medical needs, civil servants and researchers traveling outside the area can borrow Nurse Joy's Pokémon if needed.
"Um, Mr. Natsume!"
Seeing that Natsume was about to leave, Joey suddenly grabbed him.
"what happened?"
Natsume was planning to make a trip to the village's information center.
"Yes, that's right. We've had a lot of Pokémon injured at our Pokémon Center lately."
Joey rubbed his temples, feeling a headache coming on.
"An injured Pokémon?" Natsume was shocked.
"Could it be that this unassuming little village is actually inhabited by fierce people and where fighting is rampant?" Natsume wondered.
That doesn't make sense. Along the way through the village, all you see are elderly people and left-behind children.
With most young and middle-aged people going to develop in the big cities of Unova, where are the trainers coming from?
“Uh, first of all, we’re from Greentown,” Joey corrected, then scratched her head awkwardly.
"Actually, it's not quite what you think, Mr. Natsume. Most of the Pokémon I take in are wild Pokémon."
As Joey spoke, he led Natsume to the backyard.
The moment he stepped inside, Natsume felt as if he had been transported to the Arab world.
The yard was full of white headscarves.
"What happened to their heads?" Natsume asked in surprise, pointing at the injured Pokémon.
Apobomon, Great Hound, Tauros. Natsume even saw a three-headed dragon.
Without exception, their heads were all wrapped in white bandages, all of them suffering head injuries.
"These children were attacked by a group of unknown Pokémon in the wild."
At this point, Joey waved.
To Natsume's astonishment, the three-headed dragon obediently walked over.
It's clear that it's a regular customer.
“Take this three-headed dragon as an example.” Joey chose the one with the most heads and unwrapped its bandages.
The first head appeared to have been smashed by something like a club, with broken wood chips still remaining on it.
The second head had also been smashed by something resembling a club, and there were still scorch marks on it.
Upon seeing this, a figure suddenly flashed through Natsume's mind.
"Judging from the marks of its injuries, this Hydreigon was probably attacked by two Pokémon," Nurse Joy said.
“No, it’s just one,” Natsume said, disassembling the third head.
"Miss Joey, if I'm not mistaken, the third head might have a remnant of one of the four elements: rock, water, fire, or grass."
Natsume paused here.
To his surprise, there were no marks on the head of the three-headed dragon from being struck with a club.
There is no trace of any of the four elements: rock, water, fire, or grass.
Biting marks, pure bite marks, residual malevolent energy.
Hiss—could it be that Evil Spirit has another evil mask?
Just as Natsume was lost in thought, Joey wrapped the head up again.
“Mr. Natsume, this head is not of any reference value.”
"Why?" Natsume asked, puzzled.
"This three-headed dragon only has two heads that are injured."
"The two injured heads were not happy with each other, so they joined forces and bit the other head as well."
Natsume: "."
