Infinite Terror: Infinite Reversal
Chapter 559 1 punch
Chapter 559 Punch
Zheng Zha was naturally unaware that someone from the Central Continent Team was actually betting on him. After all, money was meaningless to the Central Continent Team... There were plenty of ways to integrate into the operating system of a world, and there was no need to abide by these rules.
What he needs to do now is defeat his opponent in the most powerful way... What kind of chain reaction will follow is not his concern.
As the long-range battle drew to a close, Zheng Zha had blocked almost every single one of Europa's projectiles, except for attacks that were unavoidable due to the limitations of the Vovasky 40's design. Moreover, this terrifying interception rate of over 95% was only the Vovasky 40's limit, not Zheng Zha's!
Europa's pilot, however, noticed this, or rather, his coaching staff and analysts did as well. With Luo Gandao and Mu Xiangzhu as precedents, they observed the capabilities of the Allied Mechanical Dragon with particular care.
Zheng Zha's performance in this long-range battle once again confirmed their conjecture... The opponent's reaction speed, judgment, and control have all exceeded the known limits of human beings, and are even stronger than the theoretical upper limit of the United States' genetically modified soldiers!
Europa's pilot no longer viewed Zheng Zha as a fledgling opponent... What kind of monster this guy was, or how far the Allied Forces' genetically modified warriors had progressed, were no longer his concerns. He only knew that if Zheng Zha hadn't been primarily equipped with interceptor missiles and functional weapons, his Matsumoto 14 would have been destroyed long ago!
Switching from ranged combat to melee might be an opportunity for some mechs to expand their advantage or mitigate their weaknesses... but for the pilots of Europa, it means ending a desperate battle and stepping into a new unknown.
"He still has fighting spirit... This guy is not bad either." Zheng Zha glanced at the deactivated long-range weapon system, sized up his opponent, and pondered to himself.
The next moment, the Wolversky 40 lunged forward, its two massive steel hands spreading out on either side like iron wings swatting down sparrows, or golden scissors severing life!
Compared to the rapidly rising Vovallsky 40, the Matsumoto 14, though only a few meters shorter and of comparable weight, seemed like a defenseless infant. But Europa's pilot wasn't stupid; he knew Zheng Zha had the upper hand and was currently riding high. Considering the machine's performance and handling capabilities, a direct confrontation would be as unwise as surrendering.
A blinding burst of light erupted from the chest of Matsumoto 14, a spectacular sight even from the stands. However, Zheng Zha knew that this was not a secret weapon, but a high-energy thruster.
The red and white mecha, standing a full thirty-six meters tall, was propelled backward by the powerful jet of air, immediately moving it out of Zheng Zha's attack range. At the same time, Europa swung his arms, releasing a dazzling array of weapons from them.
In the United States' mecha dragons, there is a view that mechas can never use sophisticated fighting techniques like humans... The United States does not have a complete training system for mechas, but young people, such as substitutes, train their skills by fighting every day.
Europa's pilots were the kind of people who didn't believe in this training method... and he, or rather, these opponents, thought that complexity of weapons should be used against simplicity of equipment, and simplicity of movements should be used against complexity of skills.
To be honest, both approaches have their own merits. If you can use your strengths to your advantage and make the most of your weaknesses, it won't be difficult to beat your opponent.
But all of this is on the premise that the difference in methods is less than the difference in mechanical dragons... Although Zheng Zha wouldn't dare say he's good at hand-to-hand combat in the Central Continent team, he still saw Europa's complicated external weapons and understood his thoughts.
"Damn, is it like a novice can defeat a master with a flurry of punches..." Zheng Zha muttered to himself. "Meteor hammer, liquid knuckle duster, arm blades... if you hit them all in one combo, there's really no mecha that can stay in good shape."
However... Europa's weapons ultimately had no chance of hitting the target.
As Europa flew backward and gradually ascended, Zheng Zha stopped the momentum of the Wolversky 40. Then, he retracted his outstretched arms, and the next moment, the mech's left fist, accompanied by a piercing whistling sound, slammed towards Europa.
Zheng Zha could not possibly use his mecha to perform any feats like tearing space apart with a single punch or shattering his opponent with a gust of wind... Just as Mu Xiang was clapping in the command room, the fist that had reached its furthest point detached from the mecha and, like a black meteor flying in reverse, slammed into the cockpit before Europa could react!
Mu Xiang applauded because Zheng Zha's punch was indeed very clever... Clearly, if the goal was to knock Europa down from mid-air, leveraging the Allied mechs' modification advantages was a good option. However, in previous tests, they had found that launching the fist was too slow.
In the decisive moment, this speed is useless... and its significance is also unclear when it's not the decisive moment. Does it mean you have to drop your fist at the beginning and then fight the opponent hand-to-hand with one hand?
You can't use that fist to punch the audience, can you?
Zheng Zha's method is to use the machine's operating logic to unleash a full-force punch, providing a certain initial velocity while confusing the opponent... and then, there's that flying punch!
Europa's red and white mecha groaned in pain before the black fist, its fuselage shuddering as it prepared to plummet. The attack did not pierce through Europa's mecha as the Allied audience had hoped; nor did Europa quickly adjust its position and maneuver as the United States audience had expected.
Before Europa crashed to the ground, Włowalski 40 arrived. Zheng Zha pulled the control stick, and his left arm, which had lost its left hand, swung up, extending a support to catch the falling Europa. Just as the spectators on both sides were puzzled, the referee's aircraft flew towards them.
Zheng Zha silently raised his right hand... In that intact palm was a cockpit riddled with cracks. The pilot of Europa, the strongest in the United States during the Third World War, lay unconscious inside.
The referee stared coldly at Zheng Zha, but his voice remained unchanged, seemingly identical to the previous two days... Then, he announced Zheng Zha's victory.
"Is this guy doubting my origins again?" Zheng Zha muttered to himself, but his expression remained unchanged as he met the referee's gaze. "You're all cocky now, but you'll regret it later."
