Chapter 283: The Story of How I Borrowed the Time Stone but Was Forced to Inherit the Kamar-Taj Land

Wanda rolled her eyes, her tone tinged with resentment: "You turn your back on me after you've done your bidding?"

Roger scoffed, "Am I that kind of person?"

"I just received an urgent mission across the universe."

Wanda sighed, looking at the energetic man before her, and silently sighed in her heart:

"As expected, all men are like this."

Roger was already dressed and standing in the center of the room. He made a hand gesture, and a spatial wormhole opened with a roar, illuminating the entire bedroom with blue energy.

"I'm going to Kamar-Taj. The Ancient One is a strange old lady, so I need to get there early to apply for the Time Stone."

He turned back and smiled at Wanda: "When I get back, we'll continue working overtime and discuss your future superhero career."

Wanda waved her hand helplessly: "Go on, just remember not to let the Ancient One kick you out."

Ever since Roger discovered Wanda's potential and used the Mind Stone to awaken her chaos magic, he began the Scarlet Witch training program.

In order to better nurture this future super sorcerer, Roger decisively sent her to Kamar-Taj to become the Ancient One's apprentice.

On the surface, it was for her own good, but in reality, they wanted her to succeed the Ancient One and become the next Sorcerer Supreme, while also taking over the famous Sorcerer Supreme IP and the entire Kamar-Taj land.

The results of it?
The hateful old woman, the Ancient One, although she showed great admiration for Wanda, refused to explicitly state that she would pass the throne to her.

This completely thwarted Roger's grand plan.

Thinking about this, Roger put on his shoes while mentally complaining:

"Didn't we agree that girls help girls?"

"How did it end up being 'girl hate girl'?"

"It was all just empty talk."

As he sighed, he leaped into the wormhole and disappeared into the distorted spatial passage.

……

Kama Taj!

Roger leaped out of the wormhole from the distorted spatial passage, landing firmly on his feet.

As soon as they stood still, a generic-looking low-level mage dressed in the uniform of Kamar-Taj approached and bowed respectfully.

"Welcome to Kamar-Taj, Master Roger!"

"The Ancient One's room is over there."

He pointed and said, "Please come with me."

Roger sized up the other party and confirmed that this was indeed a minor mage he didn't remember.

Are you new here?

The lowly mage was taken aback for a moment: "I was just transferred here today."

Roger nodded: "Oh, then you can go back. I can walk by myself."

As he spoke, he pointed ahead and said, "I know the Ancient One's room much better than you do."

"Finding it is as easy for me as going to the toilet."

After saying that, he waved his hand, turned around, and strode forward.

The lowly mage behind him looked completely bewildered: "What does the Ancient One's room have to do with the toilet?"

He had just arrived at the door and hadn't even knocked when a figure suddenly appeared in front of him.

The man was dressed in a black robe, with a solemn expression and gloomy eyes; it was obvious at a glance.

He's a rebellious brat with a rebellious streak.

It was Kaecilius, one of the Ancient One's most accomplished disciples.

He is also the traitor who will later kill the Ancient One and defect to Dormammu.

Roger looked at him, silently complaining to himself:

"As expected, the female version of the Ancient One is useless. If the Ancient One were an old man, there would be no need to worry about such trivial matters."

"Just a minor fatal wound."

"Does a person die when they are killed?"

Casillas had not yet betrayed them and was quite respectful, even with a sincere smile on his face.

He bowed slightly and said in a calm tone, "Mr. Roger, the Ancient One has noticed your arrival. Please come in."

Roger didn't stand on ceremony and pushed the door open to enter.

Inside, candlelight flickered and incense wafted through the air. The Ancient One sat by the window, gazing intently into the distance.

"Welcome to Kamar-Taj, Roger the Wizard."

Ancient One slowly turned her head and looked at Roger.

Roger casually found a seat, crossed his legs, and chuckled, "Long time no see, Ancient One."

Then he added, "I'm here to borrow the gems, not to use the restroom."

Ancient One raised an eyebrow: "The Time Stone?"

Roger shrugged, his tone relaxed: "That's right, enough talk, just hand over the Time Stone." In the candlelight, the Ancient One's face appeared exceptionally profound.

She paused for a moment, then slowly said:

"You know, the Time Stone cannot be given to anyone easily."

Roger nodded with a smile: "But you know, I'm no one."

"and……"

He paused, his eyes holding a meaningful look: "I think the Time Stone also wants to change owners."

The Ancient One looked at Roger.

Finally, she slowly spoke: "I can give you the Time Stone."

Roger was just about to be happy when he heard the second half of the sentence:
"But there's a condition."

Roger's smile froze instantly.

"You're actually trying to negotiate with me?"

Roger was furious.

He hates it when people try to negotiate with him.

The Ancient One looked at him calmly: "If you become the next Sorcerer Supreme, then it makes perfect sense for you to possess the Time Stone."

Roger was taken aback by what he heard.

"What do you say?"

He thought he had misheard: "You mean you want me to be the next Supreme Master?"

Gu nodded: "Exactly."

Roger immediately became interested, his eyes lighting up: "You saying this has really perked me up."

He sat up straight and asked, "Shouldn't the next Sorcerer Supreme be that young doctor?"

Ancient One nodded slightly: "Strange will indeed become the Sorcerer Supreme after me."

"He possesses many admirable qualities and unparalleled magical talent, making him a highly capable Sorcerer Supreme."

"but……"

Roger immediately replied, "Even so, you're still slightly inferior to me, right?"

The Ancient One's lips twitched slightly, looking somewhat troubled.

Can you please not be so confident?
Pu Xin Nan Zhen Xia Tou.

But she nodded nonetheless, her voice low: “Not bad.”

"You do not have Strange's qualities."

"But you're also very capable in other areas."

Roger said unhappily, "I feel like you're insulting me?"

The Ancient One continued, "I am about to die."

"The threat from Dormammu is growing, and Strange still needs time to mature."

“Until then, I need a temporary Sorcerer Supreme to maintain order in Kamar-Taj.”

"I thought about it for a long time."

"You are the most suitable one."

Roger listened and fell into deep thought.

A few seconds later, he slowly spoke: "So, you want me to be a temporary acting Sorcerer Supreme?"

Gu nodded: "Exactly."

Roger sighed, his tone complicated: "To be honest, I originally just wanted to borrow the Time Stone."

"So now, you're not only giving me the gems, but also the position of Sorcerer Supreme?"

"Oh, and there's also land for Kamar-Taj and the three great shrines?"

He looked up at the Ancient One, his eyes filled with emotion: "Ancient One, you understand me best."

"You are my best friend!"

"Although I don't really want to be the Sorcerer Supreme."

"However, since you've come this far..."

Roger stood up, chest out, head held high, his tone firm:

"Then I'll reluctantly agree!"

"From this day forward, I am the new Sorcerer Supreme of Kamar-Taj!"

"Rest assured, leave Kamar-Taj and the three great temples to me."

"Oh right, and the Time Stone."
