Chapter 222 The Avengers Assemble, Odin Sells His Son to Survive
Chapter 222 The Avengers Assemble, Odin Sells His Son to Survive
Upon hearing Nick Fury's words, Roger quipped, "Oh, so Baldy's finally decided to let them go?"
The voice on the other end of the phone was Nick Fury's clenched teeth, accompanied by faint background noise.
"Even if you don't release them, you'll still try to poach them."
Then, Nick Fury's tone became serious.
"I beg you to help me find all the Hydra moles within S.H.I.E.L.D."
“There have been so many incidents at S.H.I.E.L.D. lately, I suspect that Hydra has already discovered that I’ve become aware of their presence.”
Roger said nonchalantly, "It's no big deal. I'll have Gwen send you the list of moles later."
Roger hung up the phone immediately after saying that.
"Gwen!"
Roger shouted at the top of his lungs.
A few seconds later, Gwen burst into the living room, hands on her hips: "Boss, what's up now?"
Roger leaned back on the sofa, crossed his legs, and said, "Use the Eye of Insight to make a list of Hydra traitors within S.H.I.E.L.D. and send it to Director Nick Fury."
Upon hearing this, Gwen immediately complained, "Boss, I've been working like a spinning top lately. I haven't even finished writing the company's promotional plan, and now you're asking me to recruit people, and now you want me to compile a list of moles?"
Despite saying that, Gwen walked over to Roger and stood still.
Gwen took a deep breath and slowly closed her eyes.
When she opened her eyes again, they had turned completely white, and she began to read information about Earth out of thin air.
Gwen is linked to Roger's dark dimension and has access to the Eye of Insight, allowing her to directly read information about Earth.
Hydra doesn't have the technology of Super God Academy, nor the firewall of the Dark Dimension, so it can't stop Gwen from reading the information.
After a while, the white in Gwen's eyes gradually faded and returned to its normal color.
She pulled out her phone from her pocket, typed furiously, edited an email, and sent out the list of Hydra moles she had just found.
After sending the email, Gwen stretched and said to Roger, "All done, boss."
Roger nodded: "Well done, I'll give you an extra chicken leg tonight."
Gwen rolled her eyes at him, then turned and left the living room.
……
A few days later.
Water Corporation headquarters.
As soon as the elevator doors closed, Tony, dressed in a flashy suit, stepped inside and immediately spotted Thor standing in the middle.
"Hey, long time no see! Isn't this the legendary Thor?"
Tony tugged at his red bow tie and asked with a smug grin, "Does your precious little brother's butt still hurt?"
Thor's face instantly turned as black as the bottom of a pot, and a beast-like growl escaped his throat: "You're too arrogant."
Before he could finish speaking, a fist came hurtling towards Tony's face with a whoosh.
Immediately afterwards, Tony staggered and crashed into the elevator door, the sound of metal clashing echoing in the enclosed space.
"Is all this big oaf he can do is throw punches?"
Tony scrambled to his feet, clutching his head, and tugged at his tie as he did so.
Thor retorted, "Without that canned suit, you're nothing!"
Before he could finish speaking, Thor continued to throw punches.
When Tony saw that Tony still wanted to beat him up, he quickly activated the Druid Armor he was carrying.
In an instant, a large number of vines gathered out, and a lush green plant armor wrapped around his body.
With the armor protecting him, Tony dodged Thor's punch and shouted, "Try my Druid III, it's the perfect weapon for muscleheads like you."
The two fought fiercely in the elevator, sometimes Thor pinning Tony to the ground and grinding him against the ground, sometimes Tony using vines to hang Thor up and beat him.
Soon, Tony seized another opportunity, grabbed Thor, and slammed him to the ground like a sandbag.
The battered metal floor dented from the impact, the elevator suddenly shook violently, the lights flickered, and the alarm blared. Just then, the elevator doors were forced open from the outside.
Steve charged in, shield in hand, followed by Banner, Barton, and Natasha, who were watching the spectacle.
"Enough, both of you stop!" Steve blocked the two with his shield.
"If you want to fight, go outside. Don't dismantle the elevator."
Thor, panting heavily, got up and glared at Tony, saying:
"Don't let me run into you in the elevator next time."
"You won't have the chance to wear this bark then."
Tony looked at Steve, spread his hands, and pretended to be innocent: "He attacked first, I was acting in self-defense."
……
Soon, the group arrived at a conference room.
Tony leaned back in his chair, still wearing his Druid III armor, with his legs crossed.
Thor sat on the other side, his body tense, arms crossed, occasionally glaring fiercely at Tony.
Banner, Barton, and Natasha were between the two.
An invisible gunpowder smell permeated the air.
Steve stood before the conference table, back straight, his gaze sweeping over the crowd:
"We are now all superheroes under Vought International. Starting today, we will form a brand new team called the Avengers."
"The Avengers?"
Tony raised an eyebrow and chuckled, "Isn't this something Baldy already did?"
"How did Roger end up using it?"
"And if you're going to form a team, then form one. Why isn't Roger here?"
Thor snorted coldly and remained silent.
He didn't want to come when he received Roger's request to form the Avengers.
But his father Odin made him come, saying that he should be more involved in Earth's affairs, so he was forced to come.
Of course, Thor never imagined that his father didn't want Roger to come knocking on his door and force him to sell his son to survive.
Just then, the air in the conference room suddenly distorted, and a wormhole glowing with blue light slowly appeared.
Roger, hands in his pockets, swaggered out of the wormhole.
"What? Do you feel like someone's talking about me?"
Roger raised an eyebrow, glanced around, and finally fixed his gaze on Tony.
"I heard someone just finished a fight in the elevator and is full of energy."
Tony immediately perked up, raising an eyebrow and saying, "Not as good as someone's taste, on the same level as Baldy's."
"The Avengers, what a corny name."
"And also an eye for talent."
His gaze fell on Natasha, who was standing to the side.
"Why is my former secretary getting involved? She'd be better off making herself a cup of coffee."
Natasha crossed her arms and sneered, saying sarcastically, "Playboy, take off that tree bark and see if you can beat a woman like me."
Tony grinned mischievously and said, "If it's in bed, of course no problem, I'm always ready."
Just then, Roger snapped his fingers, and Tony suddenly realized that no matter how he spoke, he couldn't utter a single word.
He was forcibly silenced.
"Alright, there's only one thing to do today: the Avengers are officially formed."
