Chapter 177 The Seven Great Sages storm the Netherworld, the Monkey King captures Yama.

Chapter 177 The Seven Great Sages storm the Netherworld, and the Monkey King captures the Ten Kings of Hell.

Sun Wukong suddenly awoke, his drunkenness vanished, and he angrily cursed, "What kind of brat dares to steal your Grandpa Sun's soul!"

He immediately reached out and used a spirit-exorcising spell to capture the two wisps of remnant souls in his palm, where he interrogated them in detail.

The six brothers were also awakened, still sleepy, and came over to ask, "Brother, what happened? Why is there such a commotion?"

Sun Wukong, his face full of anger, recounted the whole story and then said:

"I, Old Sun, have long since transcended the Three Realms and are no longer within the Five Elements. How could I be subject to the jurisdiction of the Underworld?"

"They actually dare to send ghost messengers to collect souls! This is outrageous!"

Upon hearing this, the Demon King of the Flood Dragon flew into a rage: "How dare you, the Underworld!"

"Why don't we follow our virtuous brother to the Hall of Hell and demand an explanation from the Ten Kings of Hell and the Five Judges?"

The Bull Demon King was also indignant: "It is only right. Even if we meet the Lord of the Underworld, Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva, we must make him explain it clearly."

Seeing this, the other four demon kings also chimed in.

For a time, the crowd inside the cave was filled with indignation and righteous anger.

Seeing this, Sun Wukong was deeply moved. He raised his monkey paw again and used the Palm World technique to collect the two wisps of remnant souls as evidence.

Then, Sun Wukong bowed and said, "Thank you for your righteous help, brothers."

The six brothers laughed and said, "Brother, what are you saying? We are brothers, why should we be so polite?"

Without further delay, Sun Wukong used a magic spell to communicate with the underworld, leading his six brothers as they transformed into streaks of light and headed straight for the underworld.

Before long, the seven saints arrived at the edge of a city.

The city gate tower stood tall, with copper bells hanging from its eaves, jingling in the cold wind. A plaque hung on the tower, engraved with three large characters.

Indeed, the underworld.

The Bull Demon King pointed to the city gate: "Brother, this city is the entrance to the Netherworld. After passing through this city gate, you will reach the Underworld."

Sun Wukong snorted and said, "Good brother, today I will come with you to break into this underworld and turn it upside down."

The six brothers responded in unison: "We will certainly follow our virtuous brother on this journey and see what the underworld can do to us."

Before the words were finished, the seven great saints each used their supernatural powers, some riding on clouds, some treading on mist, and some soaring in light, and crashed straight into the city.

This caused the Ox-Head and Horse-Face demons, as well as the Black and White Impermanence, to flee in terror and hide.

Before the Yama Palace, a patrolling underworld official stumbled in, shouting, "Disaster! Seven powerful demons have arrived and are heading straight for the Yama Palace!"

Upon hearing the report, the Ten Kings of Hell all turned pale and hurriedly adjusted their hats and belts, leading their judges and ghost officials out of the palace to investigate.

But outside the hall, a demonic aura soared into the sky, like thick ink splashed across the heavens.

The seven great saints stood in front of the hall, their imposing auras threatening.

King Qin Guang stepped forward and shouted, "Your Majesties, please stop! Do not forcibly demolish the Underworld!"

Before he could finish speaking, Sun Wukong had already stepped up the stairs, his golden cudgel held horizontally in front of his chest, and shouted, "Do you recognize me, Old Sun?"

King Qin Guang glanced over and saw that the Monkey King was wearing a purple-gold crown and golden armor, but he did not recognize him.

He could only lower his head and say, "This humble god is blind and does not recognize Your Majesty's face or name."

Sun Wukong sneered, "If you don't recognize me, why send someone to take my soul?"

The sound was like a thunderclap, startling King Qin Guang so much that he trembled and hurriedly waved his hand, saying, "I dare not, it must be that the servant below was confused and took the wrong soul-summoning token. This humble god truly did not know."

Sun Wukong's eyes widened in fury as he slammed his golden cudgel on the ground, cracking the blue bricks and sending sparks flying: "What kind of officials are you all doing in this underworld?"

Upon hearing this, the Ten Kings of Hell quickly bowed and respectfully replied:

"We are the ten generations of Kings of the Underworld, I am King Qin Guang, this is King Chu Jiang, and this is Emperor Song..."

The ten Kings of Hell stepped forward one by one, introducing themselves. Upon hearing this, Sun Wukong sneered, "Since you are the emperors of the underworld, in charge of life and death, why are you so ungrateful?"

"I, Old Sun, have long lived as long as Heaven, transcended the Three Realms, and escaped the Five Elements."

"If you don't give me an explanation today, don't blame me for being merciless with my staff and turning this Yama Palace into ruins."

Before he finished speaking, the six brothers behind him each used their own methods, causing the heavens and earth to change color.

The ghost soldiers all huddled behind the pillars, not daring to show their faces.

King Qin Guang broke out in a cold sweat, but forced himself to remain calm: "Your Majesty, please calm down. There are countless people in the world with the same name and surname. I'm afraid you've really chosen the wrong person."

Sun Wukong was not about to believe him and shouted angrily, "Don't try to fool me! I have irrefutable evidence right here."

Having said that, he flipped his palm over and threw out the remnant soul of the underworld official along with the official document.

King Qin Guang picked up the document with trepidation, and after just one glance, he was filled with dread.

The writing is clear in black and white.

It turned out that there was no mistake, but unexpectedly, Sun Wukong was so powerful.

If such a person belongs to the orthodox lineage of Taoism, he should have been invited by the Jade Emperor to a banquet and to serve as an official in Heaven when his merits were fulfilled.

If one were to convert to Buddhism, one should go to the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss to pay homage to the Buddha, sit on a lotus throne, and seek enlightenment.

Even those who are born into humble circumstances will have their names removed from the Book of Life and Death by the sect's patriarch.

But how come Sun Wukong's name is still on the Book of Life and Death, causing such a huge disaster?

In the midst of the chaos, the Bull Demon King suddenly shouted, "Brother, the Lord of the Underworld, Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva, has arrived!"

Upon hearing this, Sun Wukong looked up and saw a monk wearing a brocade cassock, leading the mythical beast Di Ting, with lotus flowers blooming beneath his feet, coming from a place shrouded in auspicious clouds.

The Bodhisattva approached, clasped his hands in prayer, and with a compassionate expression inquired about the cause of the matter.

After the Ten Kings of Hell explained the situation, they pleaded on behalf of the Ten Kings of Hell: "There was indeed an oversight in this matter. I hope that you, benefactor, will have mercy and forgive them this time."

Sun Wukong replied, “I have heard of your name and know that you made a great vow: ‘I will not become a Buddha until hell is empty, and I will not attain enlightenment until all sentient beings are liberated.’ You have accumulated great merit, so I will not make things difficult for you today.”

"However, my Flower Fruit Mountain has many monkeys. You must cross out the names of all the monkeys in the world from the Book of Life and Death, so that we can be freed from the cycle of reincarnation and live a carefree life. Only then will this matter be settled."

Just then, Roger's voice suddenly rang out: "Birth, aging, sickness, and death are the natural order of heaven and earth. Your actions are going against the cycle of heaven and earth."

"In my opinion, it would be better to temporarily detain these ten Yama Kings and provoke the Heavenly Court to attack you, which would create an opportunity for you to be granted amnesty."

"At that time, we will take advantage of the situation to incorporate your children from Flower Fruit Mountain into the ranks of the Heavenly Soldiers, so that they will be protected by the celestial register and spared from the danger of death."

After a moment's thought, Sun Wukong agreed.

Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva also advised, "Your actions violate the order of Yin and Yang. I hope you will think twice before acting."

Sun Wukong laughed loudly: "The Bodhisattva is merciful, I will not destroy the foundation of the underworld."

"But these Ten Kings of Hell sent people to take my soul for no reason, which is truly despicable."

"I need to be punished to appease the hatred in my heart."

Having said that, Sun Wukong suddenly flipped his palm and pressed down.

A myriad of spiritual lights emanated from his palm, faintly revealing a world within a mustard seed. Amidst the rising clouds, illusory images of mountains and rivers appeared, sweeping towards the Ten Kings of Hell.

When the Ten Kings of Hell saw the mountain and river in the palm of his hand pressing down, their faces turned ashen, and they tried to scatter and flee.

However, although that world was small, it was like a net that could not be cast. No matter how they tried to escape, they were like ants trapped in a glass cup, and were captured in the palm of their hands in an instant.

Sun Wukong gently clenched his fist, withdrawing his supernatural powers. The Ten Kings of Hell had all shrunk to the size of a thumb, struggling futilely in his palm.

Without exchanging any more words with Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva, he gave his six elder brothers a wink, then rode his somersault cloud and led the demons away.
