Chapter 195 Rescuing People
Zhang Hang quietly leaned closer to Gu Zhao, "What is the White Bone God?"

“It’s a cultivation realm,” Gu Zhao said seriously. “Do you know about the White Bone Temple?”

“I actually do know that.” Zhang Hang nodded, then looked a little puzzled. “But doesn’t that seem to be something from Buddhism?”

"It's roughly a similar concept," Gu Zhao said, trying to fool Zhang Hang. "You wouldn't understand cultivation realms."

Zhang Hang wanted to roll his eyes at Gu Zhao, but then he thought about how Gu Zhao really had real skills, and how a simple punch could attract red-crowned cranes, and he couldn't help but feel a little guilty.

There's some truth to metaphysics too!
"I'm telling you, don't waste all your talent. How long has it been since you last made a short video?" Zhang Hang changed the subject. "Whether it's my comments or Xiao Ya's comments, everyone's calling for a big shot."

Gu Zhao clicked his tongue. Since he started to make great strides in the other world, everything that had happened seemed like just yesterday!
Looking at the myriad lights around him, Gu Zhao thought to himself that he really should relax.

"Let's find some time this week." Gu Zhao nodded, showing some interest. "I've learned some new kung fu, so I'll shoot a few more ancient-style videos for fun."

Zhang Hang's eyes widened, and he asked excitedly, "Is it Tiger Fist? Do you want to go to the zoo to fight tigers?"

Gu Zhao was speechless. "There are so many people at the zoo, how are we supposed to take pictures!"

Just then, a series of exclamations came from the surrounding area.

Following the sound, everyone looked and saw a tour boat slowly capsizing on the river not far away. The tourists on the boat were screaming for help, and many had already fallen into the water.

"That ship is leaking!" Gu Zhao, the captain of the ship, leaned out of the bridge and said to everyone, "We have to go and rescue them!"

As he spoke, he turned the rudder and headed towards the wrecked cruise ship.

Meanwhile, more tour boats nearby turned towards the wrecked boat.

Zhang Hang stood up, leaned on the railing, looked at the many tourist boats around him, and breathed a sigh of relief, "Saturation rescue, everything should be fine."

"Not necessarily." Daoist Yanling stood in the crowd, his eyes gleaming, a subtle divine light emanating from them as he gazed at the ill-fated cruise ship.

“Four or five people are trapped inside the cabin and can’t get out.” Daoist Yanling pointed to the cruise ship and transmitted his thoughts. “There are also two people in the shadows behind the ship, being carried away by the current and unable to escape.”

Master Yihong frowned slightly. "Moreover, the tourists on the boat are panicked. If any tourists who cannot swim fall into the water, there will be danger."

Several old Taoist priests looked at Gu Zhao, who also used divine sense to ask, "Which senior uncle will make a move?"

Master Yansong rubbed his hands together, chuckled, and whistled. A gentle breeze blew by, and the pleasure boat seemed to be lifted up by the void, stopping its 45-degree tilt from capsizing.

Immediately afterwards, the water in the cabin was slowly drained, and the people who had been trapped inside escaped by opening the door as the water pressure receded.

Meanwhile, the tourists who had just been near the side of the boat and nearly drowned, and then almost got caught in the propeller, were pulled away and gathered together with the other scattered tourists who had fallen into the water, waiting for rescue from the surrounding area.

Master Yansong nodded. "Luckily they were all wearing life jackets, otherwise I would have had to send them all back to the ship."

Master Yanling joked, "That would be a supernatural event. You might as well just fly there."

Master Yansong shook his head and said seriously, "That won't do. This is our first time showing our divine power in front of everyone, so we must hand it over to the sect leader."

Everyone smiled, and at the same time, they were full of anticipation.

Gu Zhao was speechless. "Aren't you afraid of overturning the world's values?"

Master Mingyu stroked his beard and smiled, “We have always been Taoist practitioners who believe in immortals. All our skills come from the Taoist canon, as everyone knows.”

Master Jingfeng grinned, “Besides, it’s possible to cultivate true Qi and magical power in modern society. We’re just a little bit more advanced.”

Master Qingyuan nodded repeatedly, "Exactly! Exactly!"

Master Mingchong stroked his chin. “When friends come, we have elixirs; when enemies come, we have the Five Thunders. If the sect leader is willing, we can restore the glory of Taoism in the Song and Ming dynasties, and even surpass it.” Gu Zhao waved his hand, looked at the crew members beside him, and Zhang Hang, who had not heard their telepathic communication, and pointed ahead, saying, “Let’s save people first.”

……

Not many tourists fell into the water, but quite a few were on the leaking cruise ship. After they were transferred to the surrounding cruise ships, the cruise ship, which had just stopped capsizing, tilted rapidly, soon overturned on the river, and then slowly sank.

"thanks, thanks!"

"Look, the ship is sinking!"

"What incredible luck! The ship sank right after we arrived?"

"Luckily we're in China; if we were abroad, we probably would have already sent it."

"May our ancestors protect us! Amitabha!"

"Hey, look over there!"

"Oh, I'm so sorry, I'm so sorry! May the Heavenly Venerable grant you boundless blessings! May the Three Pure Ones be with you above!"

A group of tour boats surrounded the capsized vessel, watching it fall silent. The captain of the boat that had just boarded Gu Zhao's boat showed no sign of grief; he was simply recording videos on his phone.

Gu Zhao couldn't help but ask, "The ship sank, aren't you sad at all?"

"Don't be sad." The captain was even laughing. "There's insurance. We can just add a little money to get a new one, and we can carry even more passengers."

Gu Zhao, “…”

……

When the cruise ship returned to the dock, there were already many staff members, security vehicles, and ambulances waiting there. The group escorted the tourists back to shore and, instead of continuing the cruise, followed them ashore.

Looking back at the river, the sunken ship was nowhere to be seen.

Master Mingyu looked at Master Yansong and said, "Saving lives is a meritorious deed."

Master Yansong stroked his beard and said, “I must say, saving people in another world is a completely different experience from saving people in China.”

"After all, we are blood relatives," Master Yihong said with a smile.

The group chatted and laughed, then took a car back to the Taoist Research Institute. After Gu Zhao escorted them through the other world, they met up with Zhang Hang, who was waiting at the door.

Zhang Hang glanced behind Gu Zhao to make sure no one was following, then asked, "You're not really planning to become a monk, are you?"

"I have so many girlfriends I can't even count them on one hand." Gu Zhao replied irrelevantly, tossing an object into Zhang Hang's hand. "Don't say I don't take care of you. This is a magic artifact personally blessed by a true cultivator. It can ward off evil and bring good fortune."

Zhang Hang caught it and found it was a bracelet with one large and two small beads engraved with Taoist runes.

He fiddled with it for a couple of moments, then casually put it on his wrist, tauntingly saying, "You can't even count them all on one hand. If you can win over both Xiao Ya and Jiang Shishi, I'll acknowledge you as my godfather!"

Gu Zhao looked at Zhang Hang and sneered repeatedly.

Zhang Hang felt a sudden jolt, and an ominous premonition welled up inside him.

Gu Zhao took out his phone, made a call, and simply said, "I'll come to see you guys tonight."
