Chapter 278 The Battle Against Julius: Storm and Lightning
Chapter 278 The Battle Against Julius: Storm and Lightning (Bonus Chapter, Requesting Monthly Tickets)
"The White Raven Brigade... seems to be different from what I thought; they're not just insects."
Julius smiled coldly, looking up from under his hat at the Bloodline and the Ripper.
He slowly took off his military cap, raised his cane, and then looked up again.
In an instant, the ground beneath their feet suddenly split in two. Then, from the vast ravine, a silver rocky mountain abruptly rose, carrying them rumbling into the sky, as if a god were looking down upon humanity from the heavens.
In the blink of an eye, the Ripper's figure had vanished. She flashed to the bottom of the mountain like lightning and a whirlwind, leaped up, and walked sideways across the surface of the giant mountain, seemingly ignoring gravity as she swiftly ascended.
The Bloodline, with her black wings forged from dragon blood, soared into the sky like a great demon. She descended from the heavens, blood gushing from her pores forming streaks of black and red light that rained down behind her like a storm.
From a distance, it looks like a falling shooting star.
The two attacked Julius from both above and below.
A glint of rage flashed in Julius's eyes, and he raised both hands simultaneously.
With a deafening roar, two massive, sharp rocks jutted out from the mountain below, thrusting out without warning, one above and one below, heading straight for the Ripper and the Bloodline.
The former surged upwards like a waterfall, piercing the rapidly ascending Ripper; the latter, like a spear of destruction from the earth's core, stabbed the rapidly falling Bloodline!
Black blood gushed from the ten fingers of the Bloodline, and the dragon blood gathered into a giant mandala flower, twisting and swirling forward, shattering the massive rock spikes into pieces.
Ripper, meanwhile, used the surface of the giant mountain to propel herself backward, creating distance between herself and the rock spikes. The enormous spikes were closing in on her, seemingly about to pierce her pupils!
However, at that moment, she spun around in mid-air, her school uniform skirt fluttering, and suddenly drew her sword.
The demonic sword was drawn. The dark red blade light, like a crescent moon that had been cleaved, swept out, neatly and cleanly splitting the oncoming rock spikes in two.
Julius laughed wildly. Every time he raised his hand, a huge rock would thrust upwards, as sharp and massive as a spear hurled by a god!
Enormous rocky mountains rose one after another into the sky, crushing countless iron-gray buildings, chasing after the two figures. The mountains converged from all directions, surrounding the Bloodline and the Ripper in mid-air. A moment's carelessness here would result in being crushed by the overlapping mountains.
The bloodline flapped its dragon wings, creating a deafening whooshing sound as it rose to the very top of the sky, hovering directly beneath the sun.
Ripper, on the other hand, used the surface of the rocky mountain as leverage to propel himself forward, seizing gaps in the encroaching rock face and leaping about.
She twirled and darted lightly through the gaps between the mountains, her vision shifting between light and darkness. Her long, straight black hair billowed in the wind, and the hem of her school uniform skirt fluttered wildly.
Finally, it leaped up, as if passing through the cracks of the world, and landed on the back of a paper dragon flying towards it.
That's right, it was Ayase Origami who joined the battle. She took out an endless scroll from her sleeve, and the gray-white pages fluttered up, further filling in the skeleton of the paper dragon and perfecting its details.
Instead of becoming heavy, the paper dragon seemed to have undergone a transformation, bursting forth with unprecedented lightness and speed. It swooped down, flew close to the ground, and weaved between towering mountains, never being brought down.
"This kind of superpower is indeed quite useful on the battlefield; it's very efficient at weeding," Ripper commented expressionlessly.
"I'm thirsty. I'd like some orange juice after I finish this," the girl in the kimono said casually.
"I'll treat you when I'm done. Now focus on the fight and don't get distracted," the Ripper said.
The gray-white paper dragon beneath him suddenly flapped its wings and rose up. At the same time, countless copies of the manuscript violently flipped open, and thousands of pages rolled up from them, rising into the sky and instantly forming an unstoppable storm.
Origami Ayase raised her hand, and a strange light flashed in her beautiful yet empty pupils. The storm of paper pages swept forward with devastating force, tearing apart towering mountains with thousands of tons of swirling gray paper, even absorbing broken rocks into it.
The whole world was trembling.
The storm grew larger. Dust, paper scraps, and rubble mingled together, carrying with them flocks of crows, the corpses of soldiers, and the ruins of prison buildings.
The supernatural prison known as "New Leaf Village," which resembled a military base, fluttered like a flag in the cold wind. The storm swept through, ravaging the iron-gray buildings, leaving only a pile of rubble in the blink of an eye.
“Interesting…interesting!” Julius’s eyes shone brightly, and his old figure remained straight in the oncoming gale, his white hair curling upwards.
He laughed wildly and stretched out his arms, as if trying to embrace the overwhelming tornado of paper pages sweeping in.
Suddenly, a huge chasm split open in the prison floor again, and large sections of the buildings sank into it!
Sand and gravel flew up, and then a pyramid, seemingly from the earth's crust, rose from it like a rising sun.
This enormous pyramid, built of golden rock, stood like a formidable wall blocking the path of the tornado.
The pyramids and the tornado collided violently! The friction between the paper and the sand created light and fire. The entire world seemed to fall silent at that moment.
In the darkness, all was silent. The Hokkaido prison trembled and sank into the ravine in the earth.
"They literally built a pyramid?"
The Bloodline still fluttered its wings, hovering beneath the sun. She lowered her crimson eyes, gazing at this incredible sight, and couldn't help but curl the corners of her lips into a smile.
"This is the power of a veteran calamity-level being..." she said with a sigh.
The tornado ravaged everything in the world, absorbing all the light and heat, sand and dust, turning the surroundings into a desert, with yellow sand and waste paper covering the earth.
At this moment, Origami Ayase was already at her limit, blood flowing from her nostrils, staining her pale philtrum red.
She wasn't a cataclysmic superhuman; she merely used the sheer number of pages from the endless manuscripts to create this magnificent spectacle. But manipulating so many pages simultaneously was no simple task; the mental and physical strain it placed on her was immense. Yet, at the heart of the page storm, the pyramid still stood tall, protecting the prison's core structure like a lone reef amidst the raging tide.
Julius laughed heartily, his pale eyebrows and mustache trembling in the wind, looking vigorous and spirited.
Meanwhile, in another corner of the prison, Xia Pingzhou, in order to avoid being swept away by the storm, had no choice but to order the Queen statue to activate its ethereal transformation, carrying him through the iron-gray buildings, and finally evacuating to the outside of the prison walls.
"That's enough... don't push yourself." The Ripper supported Ayase Origami's shoulder, and the girl in the kimono fell into her arms, breathing slightly heavily.
Without Ayase Origami's control, the paper tornado disintegrated in an instant, like a car drained of its fuel. The previously swirling dust and waste paper now fell straight down like a torrential rain, crashing into the prison.
The paper dragon also disintegrated into pieces of grayish-white paper, like dandelions blown into the sky under the sun. Ripper, holding Ayase Origami, tumbled and fell from a height of 100 meters.
She held the katana in reverse with her right hand and plunged it into the surface of a rocky mountain to slow her descent, eventually landing safely.
Immediately afterwards, a ravine was carved out of the rocky mountain, splitting it in two and causing it to fall to the ground.
The Bloodline was not inactive; while observing this scene under the sun, she also squeezed out a large amount of blood from her body, which coalesced into a giant hammer that even overshadowed the sun's light, shrouding the world in shadow.
"Which way are you looking?" She grinned, brandishing a hundred-meter-long hammer formed from congealed blood, and descended from the sky.
With her blonde hair flowing and her red dress billowing like the twilight sky, the vampire girl swung her hammer and smashed it with all her might onto the top of the massive pyramid.
The world fell silent for a moment, followed by a deafening roar.
The entire pyramid has been broken open from top to bottom. Sunlight shines through every crack that opens in the pyramid.
Finally, beams of sunlight streamed down from the riddled pyramid, illuminating Julius's head; the pyramid shattered into countless rocks, raining down on him like a downpour.
Exhausted, Julius stood atop the rocky mountain, gazing up at the crumbling pyramid, frozen in place.
He suddenly smiled. He closed his eyes, as if awaiting death.
But at that very moment, a deafening roar came, and black arcs of electricity suddenly appeared in the air. A black bolt of lightning shot upwards from the bottom of the rocky mountain, eventually taking Julius from the top of the mountain and imprisoning him.
Gu Qiye knelt on the ground, glanced at the exhausted and unconscious Julius through the eye sockets of the mask, and then raised her head to look at the sky directly above the prison.
At this moment, Yuriel, dressed in a black bodysuit, was gliding upwards on the ever-expanding ice surface, her white hair flying, her figure as graceful and elegant as a peerless figure skater.
She glided swiftly, as if riding the wind and waves, until she reached the foot of the collapsed pyramid. Then she raised her hand and suddenly created countless huge ice spikes, intercepting one massive piece of pyramid rock after another in mid-air.
With a deafening "Bang! Bang!", the ice spike shattered all the rocks, replacing them with a sky full of swirling ice dust that glittered in the sunlight.
On the ground, Ripper put the kimono-clad girl down from his arms and handed her to Xia Pingzhou, who had arrived at the scene. Xia Pingzhou then handed Ayase Origami to the Queen's statue.
Then, the Ripper raised his head, his eyes, as black as the polar night, fixed on Yuriel.
"People from Rainbow Wing?" she guessed.
“It seems like…” Xia Pingzhou murmured, “How did they end up here?”
Yuriel glided down the ice from the icy blue cliff top and stopped beside Gu Qiye.
The Bloodline retracted its dragon wings and slowly descended, landing beside Xia Pingzhou and the Ripper.
"Wow... who are these two guests?" She tilted her head and asked curiously.
“They seem to be from Rainbow Wing, don’t let your guard down,” Ripper said. “The commander should have almost pulled the people out of the ground by now, we can retreat at any time.”
Xia Pingzhou remained silent, thinking that because he hadn't been able to exchange information with his older brother before, he didn't know that Hong Yi would actually appear in the Hokkaido superpower prison.
This is a huge problem. Ji Minghuan originally planned to use the White Raven Brigade's strength to capture Julius alive during this operation, bring this damned Salvation Society officer back, and interrogate him using the Black Chrysalis's restraint mantra. Now it seems difficult to do so. To bring Julius back, he'll at least have to get past his brother and the Ice Maiden first.
Fortunately, there was some good news: Ji Minghuan still had a backup plan.
Yesterday at noon, Ji Minghuan thought it over and over, worried that the Salvation Society might have stationed a group of reinforcements in the prison, and that the brigade alone would not be able to capture Julius alive, so he had no choice but to call over a group of "reinforcements" as well.
So at this moment, his third mobile suit, "Agubaru," is on its way from Sapporo.
The first unit, "Black Chrysalis," naturally hitched a ride. However, due to the possibility of the Salvation Society's existence, Black Chrysalis could not directly participate in the battle and could only hang from a tree.
