Chapter 267 Salvation Society Officer, Warden

Chapter 267 Salvation Society Officer, Warden (Seeking Monthly Tickets)

[Black Chrysalis: How did you know I was investigating the Light-Eating Bees? I have a collaborator who is very interested in information about them. Mr. Blue Arc, do you have any leads?]

[Gu Qiye: Judging from this, you probably don't know, otherwise you wouldn't have been so mysterious.]

[Gu Qiye: Don't contact me or appear around me for the time being.]

Gu Wenyu raised his eyebrows helplessly. He originally wanted to complain, but then he thought that his older brother had just joined Rainbow Wing and he really needed to be more vigilant so as not to let anyone see through him.

"Brother, can you really manage without me?"

Just as he was about to send another message, he saw a welcome exclamation mark pop up on the text message interface.

[Notification: You have been blocked by the other party.]

"Alright then." Gu Wenyu sighed, sprawled on the bed, and turned to look out the window.

Outside the hotel was a dilapidated alleyway, the walls covered in colorful graffiti. Loud rapping could be heard, suggesting someone was recording a TikTok video; it was very noisy and accompanied by the swishing sound of spray paint. It was probably some local New York thugs doing street art.

Gu Wenyu used the restraint straps to close the window tightly, then picked up the remote control from the table and turned on the air conditioner. The restraint straps, like a wriggling little black snake, slowly slithered back into his sleeve.

He glanced at the restraint avatar huddled in the closet, slowly closed his eyes, and switched his consciousness to the perspective of Unit 2.

On the other side, in Hokkaido.

The night was getting deeper, and the JR Limited Express was about to arrive in Sapporo, Hokkaido. Looking out the window, the outline of the Sapporo TV Tower could already be seen.

Under the pitch-black night sky, the 147-meter-long tower glows with a blue halo, which gradually turns into silver and purple; in the distance, rows of lanterns hang in Tanukikoji Shopping Street, and the brightly lit street looks like a warm orange dragon in the night.

Origami Ayase was slumped over. She had just been woken up by Xia Pingzhou and was still a little sleepy.

Xia Pingzhou turned his gaze away from the scenery outside the window, and his phone received a message.

[Hacker: Bloodline and I have arrived in Hokkaido. Where are you guys?]

Xia Pingzhou: Soon.

[Hacker: I'm really impressed with you guys. I just saw what Miss did online. Now the whole world knows our group is back in Japan. This is bad for our upcoming prison break.]

[Xia Pingzhou: It doesn't matter. Together we're several catastrophe-level beings. Who can stop us?]

[Hacker: It would be hilarious if the Japanese government invited people from Rainbow Wing over later.]

Xia Pingzhou: Don't jinx it.

[Hacker: But putting Rainbow Wing aside for now, this opponent is no simple matter. While the Hokkaido Superpower Prison appears to be located in Japan, its main security forces are actually from abroad, meaning the prison's administration belongs to a foreign country.]

[Xia Pingzhou: After all, all the superhuman prisoners in the world are sent to that prison, and since the prison is built on Japanese soil, they have to bear unnecessary risks. Sending high-level guards from other countries is a kind of mutually beneficial cooperation.]

[Hacker: Who knows? Anyway, I found out. The "warden" is a Cataclysmic-level superhuman from Germany. As far as I know, he's the only Cataclysmic-level superhuman in the prison's security force; the rest are just low-level henchmen.]

[Xia Pingzhou: Cataclysmic Level?]

[Hacker: Yes, this is his photo. During the operation, remember to avoid him a bit and hand him over to Bloodline and Young Lady. They just obtained the royal treasure, and they're probably looking for a worthy opponent to practice against.]

Xia Pingzhou was about to type a reply when a photo popped up on the screen, causing his right hand, which was touching the virtual keyboard, to pause slightly, and his pupils to contract a little.

“This is…” he murmured, “the Salvation Society?”

The person who came into his view at that moment was a man dressed in a German military uniform and wearing a military cap. The man had a mustache, his features were narrow and solemn, and his eyes were bright and piercing, but the shadow of the cap made him look somewhat gloomy and cold.

Without a doubt, this is someone who has appeared at the Salvation Society base.

But Ji Minghuan hadn't seen this person for some time. Ever since his mentor realized that neither coercion nor persuasion could make him obey, he stopped sending this "officer" to play the bad cop to him.

He still remembered when he first came to the Salvation Society, the officer would often yell at him in the cell and punish him by making him do push-ups.

However, he simply ignored the other party, adopting a "what's the worst that can happen?" attitude.

In contrast, the mentor adopted a gentler approach, trying to get Ji Minghuan to open up to him, much like using a whip and candy to train a dog, but unfortunately, it all came to nothing in the end.

"An officer from the Salvation Society is actually the warden of the Hokkaido Special Ability Prison?" Ji Minghuan thought. "I didn't expect to run into him again in this place."

For some reason, Ji Minghuan felt a vague sense of excitement.

He figured the Salvation Society was unaware of the White Raven Brigade's rapid increase in combat power. Therefore, even if the mentors anticipated the brigade's prison break plan, they could likely inflict at least one or two casualties on the Salvation Society. If the prison break was to succeed, the officers were an insurmountable obstacle for the brigade. Capturing him alive would be ideal, allowing Black Chrysalis to extract the location of the Salvation Society's base from him.

Thinking of this, Ji Minghuan synchronized his consciousness with Unit 3, "Yagubaru".

Caesar had already carried Agubaru back to the room, and the cell phone that Qi Liyuan had given him was on the bed.

There's no doubt this phone is under the hacker's surveillance, which is why Agubaru reminded Caesar that he didn't need to bring it with him when he went out. Little did he know it would come in handy at this moment.

Agubaru leaped out of Caesar's pocket, drifting in mid-air on the black waves, rushed over, picked up the phone with his fins, opened his contacts, found Qi Yuanli's number, and dialed it.

He held the phone to his ear, listening to the "beep beep" sound coming from the other end.

"Aguru, what are you doing?" Caesar was stunned by the little shark's sudden action.

Agubaru raised his fins to his mouth, signaling Caesar to be quiet.

Caesar paused for a moment, then sat down without saying anything, just blinking his eyes and looking at it curiously.

A short while later, a familiar voice came from the other end of the phone: "You are... His Highness?"

“No, I am Shark, Agubaru,” Agubaru said. “According to the truth, Shark’s friend needs to see you.”

Qi Yuan thought for a moment: "What is it?"

"The big moth told me that your White Raven Brigade is planning a prison break, and the goal is to take away the prisoners from the Hokkaido superhuman prison."

"A large fluttering moth... a black pupa?"

“That’s right, it’s him.” Yagubalu nodded. “He also told Shark that he hoped I could tell you: if you can spare the warden’s life and capture him alive, that big moth will reward you handsomely. You can contact him when you need him later.”

“I see. He already knows so much about our plan,” Qi Yuanli said. His tone didn’t betray any surprise or shock; he seemed to have come to accept the Black Chrysalis’s ability to foresee the future.

"So, are you going to accept this deal or not? Don't waste Shark's time." Yagubaru winked and smirked.

"It depends on the situation. Our opponent is a Cataclysmic-level ability user no matter what. Even if we have the advantage in combat power, it won't be easy to capture him alive," Qi Yuanli said calmly. "If we insist on meeting Black Chrysalis's demands, we might not only fail but also lose one or two members."

"Very well," said Agubaru. "You do your best. I'll pass on today's conversation to the big moth."

"Then ask him for me: besides the warden, are there any other experts in the prison at the Calamity level or above?"

“No,” Yagubaru interrupted. “The big moth said you should just charge ahead! It would be best if you could catch the warden, but it doesn’t matter if you can’t. The best thing would be to tear that guy to pieces.”

After a long while, Qi Yuanli's voice came from the other end of the phone, still deep and calm, just like his unfathomable eyes.

"Okay, then I'll hang up."

As soon as he finished speaking, Qi Yuanli unilaterally hung up the phone, and Little Shark also wrapped the phone in black water and handed it to Caesar, who was standing next to him.

Caesar was shocked to see this and quickly said, "You can't soak the phone in water! It will get sick and then it won't work!"

"Oh, Shark forgot? There was such a thing?" Yagubaru said casually, but he never learned his lesson, as if he were testing the phone's durability.

Caesar sighed, took the phone, and the black tide surrounding it instantly dissipated.

Meanwhile, Agubaru rode the black tide back into Caesar's coat pocket, once again burying his head inside, drooping in deep thought.

First, it's best to ensure that Black Chrysalis doesn't directly get involved in anything related to the Salvation Society, in order to avoid suspicion; however, whether it and Caesar will fly to Japan across the ocean is another matter, as the Salvation Society currently doesn't know the relationship between this 300-meter shark and Ji Minghuan.

"So, what you just said was true?" Caesar asked in a low voice, "Did Mr. Black Chrysalis really tell you those things secretly?"

“Of course it’s true. The big fluttering moth told me secretly,” Agubaru said casually. “Caesar, you’ll know these secrets when you grow up.”

“Okay.” Caesar nodded. “Let’s get some sleep first. You must be very tired after flying all the way from China to America.”

“I’m really tired, Shark just collapsed!” Yagubaru said, closing his eyes from his pocket. “Goodnight, Caesar.”

"Goodnight, Aguru." Caesar glanced out the window, smiled slightly, and walked over to draw the curtains. "Although it's still broad daylight."

He stretched, turned to his side, lay back on the bed, and slowly closed his eyes.

Soon, the man and the shark fell into a deep sleep.
