Thousand-Faced Dragon

Chapter 461 Destruction and Reconstruction of Nations

Chapter 461 Destruction and Reconstruction of Nations

That's hell.

What belongs to mortals also belongs to the kingdom.

Deep pits appeared in the earth, and countless bottomless, dark pits appeared in the city.

The fortress was torn apart from the inside, a huge hole appeared in the square, and even the indestructible royal palace was reduced to ruins in the earthquake. Those ancient, gray-black beings crawled out from underground.

Then came a massacre.

Amidst the earthquake and the shaking of the mountains, those stone-headed monsters seemed completely unaffected. They could walk freely on the walls, easily tear apart steel doors and iron windows, and even sneak into the rock walls.
"Ahhh!"

"What kind of monster is this? Why can't we stop it?!"

They will silently sneak up beside you, and then tear you apart with their gray-black claws. They don't intend to hunt, and you can't even see their desire to eat; they just happily and efficiently carry out their killing.

Ordinary swords and blades had virtually no effect on them. The mountain kingdom's renowned low-to-medium strength group suffered a catastrophe. Faced with monsters that easily exceeded three to five meters in height and moved as fast as the wind, ordinary warriors, without any preparation, could only last for a few seconds or a few minutes.

When the monster was exposed to the sunlight, it did not bring any advantage to the kingdom's people; instead, it brought a deeper fear.

"Why would such a nightmare be reality?"

One by one, ferocious beasts with four, six, or eight limbs on the ground came to the human world. These monsters, without eyes or ears but with only sharp teeth and mouths, displayed astonishing killing efficiency in a three-dimensional way.

Their physical characteristics resemble those of an upright large lizard, but upon closer inspection, one will realize that they are not the same at all.

Its surroundings are covered with large areas of brownish-yellow powder, which sometimes gathers into crystals to serve as a protective layer, and sometimes transforms into extensions on its claws, tearing flesh and even piercing steel.

"These are not wild beasts; they possess intelligence! They have combat skills."

The veteran quickly realized that these were a group of "people" who resembled wild beasts. Their killing skills were not only refined and mature, but also showed obvious operational techniques.

"boom!"

More and more cave entrances opened up, and more and more ferocious beasts crawled out from them.

This time, the smallest cub was only a little over a meter long, while the largest was over a hundred meters long. They were very different in appearance, but judging from the style of their physical structure, they should be of the same kind.

They covered for each other, helped each other, and even took the blows for each other, killing efficiently without any mercy.

Those colossal beasts, some tens of meters tall, specialize in various sieges and opening "boxes." As they breach fortresses, the surrounding beasts quickly begin their slaughter.

A single slap from a giant beast can demolish a house, and those omnipresent, eyeless monsters will swiftly hunt down any who try to escape.

The city has more and more "holes," but the most dangerous ones are still the original "mines." They have accumulated too much power inside, and the behemoths that have appeared in this instant are simply too big and too numerous.

The capital of the Kingdom of Hadur is engulfed in war, with flames and explosions everywhere. The kingdom's magic system works intermittently before malfunctioning.
"Why has the Mage Tower stopped firing again?!"

"How were the palace's defensive arrays breached? They must be able to withstand ninth-circle magic!"

"It's the ley lines; those monsters severed them."

The ley lines, originally intended as an energy source for the defense system, have instead become transportation channels for monsters. One by one, monsters crawl out of the heavily guarded ley line channels, posing a deadly threat to the surrounding mages.

This was not merely a disaster; it had escalated into a war between races, a long-prepared, surprise attack, and the situation in the Kingdom of Hadur was dire. Yet, even so, the capital, having accumulated so much wealth and power, was still able to barely resist.

They formed groups centered around strongmen and fortresses, either holding out for reinforcements or helping each other escape the capital, gradually trying to turn the tide.
"Buzz!"

The sudden echo reverberated throughout the capital, as if something was subtly changing.

The next moment, something even stranger happened.

"How...how did I start floating?!"

Not only did the warriors who were still fighting to the death float up, but even the rubble, ravines, and walls that served as their shields slowly floated up as well.

Centered on the capital, the area within tens of kilometers around it has fallen into a strange "extremely low (zero) gravity zone".

Large swathes of buildings slowly rose into the air, and the land that was once seen as a reliance and a barrier was transformed into floating "islands." Even more tragic was the plight of the warriors within them.

All the beastmen and dwarf warriors were used to fighting with their feet on the ground. When they lightly kicked themselves into the air, they couldn't even find the right point to swing their swords!

"Ahhhh!"

In that instant, countless powerful individuals were plunged into dire straits.

When they are not adapted to their environment, their rivals, those long-tailed beasts...
"Zizzizi."

Like static on radio waves, it was their laughter. The next moment, those ferocious beasts that originally needed to be climbed transformed into flying monsters.

This is their most suitable battlefield, a low-gravity environment that allows their massive and heavy bodies to exert several times their combat power. Their limbs become catapults, and their tails become traction rudders. They rapidly launch themselves back and forth on the floating islands, hunting down the mortals who are still resisting.

When gravity was overturned, the original ley lines were completely severed, most magic arrays and defense systems stopped working, and the powerful were divided into helpless islands, forced to wait for the hunters to hunt them down.

As gravity shifted, the "holes" in the earth turned into "slides," and countless monsters poured out. Soon, the number of monsters surpassed that of the superhumans who were still resisting.

Slaughter, or extermination, is already destined to come uncontrollably.
"The Kingdom of Hadur is finished."

Faced with the scene in the mirror demon, no one knew who spoke first, but all they received was silence from the powerful and influential people in the room.

This is the main hall of the church in Radiant City. Previously, no one knew why Princess Dania would summon all the nobles and various forces to a gathering, but now they preferred not to know.

They didn't need much knowledge about battles and battlefields; they all knew that this once-powerful neighboring country was utterly destroyed.

The sheer number of demons, the army crawling out of the ground, and their bizarre and difficult-to-defend fighting style—if they appeared in Radiant City or other areas of the Kingdom of Aetherine...
"If it were us, we would be finished too." This is a reality that everyone knows but doesn't say.

This short clip, lasting only a dozen minutes, shows the Mirror Woman rapidly disseminating "intelligence" across all territories. In particular, Dania, who hadn't slept all night in Radiant City, walks onto the stage, her tone filled with barely suppressed anger and helplessness.

"This happened yesterday morning. By nightfall, there were hardly any survivors in the capital of Hadur. This morning, the kingdom could be declared extinct."

"They are called the Bottom Lizard Demons, the former masters of that mountain region, ancient beings whose extinction has been declared in history books."

"Just two hours ago, they sent a notice to the mainland, announcing their restoration of their country."

"The Kingdom of Hadur, a mountain kingdom far more powerful than ours, only lasted one day, to be precise, 22 hours."
