Thousand-Faced Dragon

Chapter 324 Choose 3 from 1

Chapter 324 Three Choices
Although being a metamorphosisd individual is a rare mental profession, even considered trash by mainstream mental superhumans, Rean increasingly feels that it suits him best.
"Ultimately, he's a member of the Demon Warriors, similar to a Paladin."

Each extraordinary system has warriors who are proficient in both martial arts and magic, as this is a real need. These include arcane knights, elven sword dancers, paladins, metamorphos, and even druid warriors.

They are not fundamentally different in terms of combat roles and strategic positioning; they are all high-quality warriors who are at the forefront of battle and can use extraordinary power to assist and increase the upper limit of combat power.

The difference in their various abilities stems from the different sources of the extraordinary power they use.

Among these, the Paladin is undoubtedly the best classic, and its success even indirectly promoted the birth of other "magical warriors".

However, other magic warriors face the obvious disadvantage of being good at both, being bad at both, having difficulty obtaining equipment, and being relatively weak in actual combat. They are a kind of "skills class" with a high ceiling but extremely low cost performance. The arcane knight's main attack method is zero-ring trickery, and being able to master only low-level spells is always a desperate weakness of magic warriors.

Paladins are an exception; ultimately, it's because the Evil Slash is too outrageous, with an excessively high enhancement level against evil creatures.

It's common for Radiant Light to deal several times the damage, and the constantly upgraded Evil Slash also avoids the weakness of not having high-level divine spells. Evil Slash is enough, why would you need high-level divine spells?

The Radiant and Positive Energy Paladin can also use divine magic to assist himself, use heavy armor to make up for his defensive weaknesses, and with the healing divine magic brought by "Positive Energy", he can be called a pure all-rounder.

Especially when facing "evil", it can become a sharp knife.

It is easy to use and has strong survivability, so various benevolent gods have "cultivated" some of them. The fact that it has become one of the main combat professions on the continent proves the success of this path.

However, other types of magic warriors can easily become mediocre at both. The Transformer is a psychic version of a "Paladin," and can even be considered a typical example of a failed work.

It is a user of psychic abilities, and its flesh-and-blood transformation is very strong and tough. However, in order to infuse its psychic abilities into flesh-and-blood weapons, it has given up the greatest advantages of psychic abilities—spell range and stealth.

It doesn't even have many signature mind spells; instead, its paladin-like spell list is filled with support and healing abilities.

As the core ability of melee units, their attack and damage capabilities are not very good. Psychic damage is only effective against living beings, and although it is true damage, its destructive power is relatively weak.

This is a profession that requires melee combat, but the main weapons are hammers, swords, and crossbows after the arms are deformed, and only when the blows hit will there be psychological damage. So why don't we just use swords and crossbows with poison? Poison arrows are often more damaging than psychological damage.

It compensates for the weakness of the Mind Mage subclass in lacking melee units. But in reality, even though Mind Warriors are notoriously weak and not good at either side when using psionic swords, they are still much better than Evolvers.

Using your transformed flesh and blood for melee combat is an amazing idea. But please don't do it like that next time; your opponents love fragile melee units like you.

You even turned your arm into a sword to clash with your opponent? Don't you think severing limbs is fast enough? Your opponent can just use a Demon-Slaying Slash and your hand will be gone.

"This profession is terrible for ordinary people, really terrible, but if you transform your flesh and blood into a high-level supernatural being, such as a dragon, it's a different story."

Can the power of weapons transformed from dragon skin, dragon flesh, and dragon bones be compared to that of ordinary people whose flesh and blood have mutated?
Rean just happens to be unable to develop his own "Dragon Riders," so doesn't this provide a way to arm them?
Fisterion, as the "singer," offers three additional options, each with its own unique merits.

"Gauntlets (giant hands), a shield, and a priest's bell."

This is undoubtedly a reform aimed at addressing the weaknesses of those who have undergone transformation.
"Since I can't become an excellent melee fighter, I might as well become a support class."

The gauntlets can transform into "giant hands," allowing the player to play even larger musical instruments and amplify sound waves with psionic energy.

Shields are purely for compensating for weaknesses. Shields with mental abilities are more suitable for resisting magic and mental damage than for defending against physical damage.

Priest Bell. Rean recalled the "bell" on the idol, a pure amplifier that perhaps resonated with his telepathic abilities.

Rean really wanted it, but he wasn't confident he could use it well.
"Since you can't learn to use Echoes like a human, then use them like a dragon."

Fisterion offered another option.

Since Rean needs additional "dragon heads" to be used as materials for the bio-weapons of the Evolvers anyway, he might as well make better use of the "Dragon's Voice".

"There are also types of dragons that use sound waves, although they are extremely rare." Humans can't learn to sing, but dragons can certainly roar. Fisterion's statement was a bit far-fetched, but it seemed to make sense.

"Uh, a sound-based dragon? I don't think I've ever heard of that."

"Of the three, the ones that are most suitable for you are all rather difficult to handle."

Fisterion offered a choice of options but failed to provide Rean with a means to obtain them.

Dark Sonic Dragon, Sapphire Dragon, and Crystal Dragon are all options, but they are all dragon species that are difficult to obtain in the Prime Material Plane.

The Dark Sonic Dragon, also known as the Corrupted Purple Dragon or the Song Dragon, is a non-naturally born dragon species, similar to the Shadow Dragons corrupted by the Shadow Plane.

Only when the mighty Shiryu, a powerful dragon among evil dragons, is corrupted by the power of the Underdark, is it possible for this strange species to be born.

It excels at sound wave localization and sound wave breathing, and uses its singing to bewitch mortals; it is a dragon species that specializes in the field of sound.

The advantage is that it is very suitable for Rean's needs, and the Purple Dragon's base strength is very high. The disadvantage is that it is extremely rare, and none of the weak ones have survived to this day.
"How about we try asking the Mirror Maiden?" There's no way to get her through normal channels, but we don't know if the gods in the Underdark have her.

The other two options actually tempted Rean as well.

Sapphire Dragon and Crystal Dragon are both gem dragons. Dragons of this type all possess psychic abilities and are generally masters in this field. Obtaining their bloodline would be very suitable for the evolution of a metamorphosis user.

Beyond their psychic abilities, both dragon species offer unique surprises.

Sapphire Dragon is also a sound-specialized dragon species and an excellent "tactical master". It is very good at using echoes to perform various tricks. Sonic radar and sonic breath are used instinctively and are part of various ambush tactics.

It is quite similar to the Dark Sonic Wave Dragon, except that in terms of tactical positioning, one is an "ambush assassin" and the other is a "source of mental pollution (charm master)". Both are good at using sound waves to cause trouble, which is very compatible with the abilities of the Heroic Soul.

But in reality, the Crystal Dragon is the one that most appeals to Rean among the three dragons, because it is a rare Radiant type dragon.

Its primary attribute is Radiance, and it also has the ability to control the wind and breathe sonic waves. In actual combat, it will use sonic wave abilities as a support, as well as a bunch of other miscellaneous abilities.

If Rean acquires its bloodline, he can further enhance the abilities of the Paladin class, which is a genuine and crucial ability boost.

The choice of three options presented Rean greatly tempted him.
"Don't be tempted, you won't get any of them."

The overly realistic words jolted Rean awake from his dream.

He shook his head after being kicked out. He had entered the dream with a longing, but after leaving, he had even more to long for.

But the next moment, he laughed.

The extraordinary professions that you already have are all real improvements. Even if it's just a hardware upgrade for the person undergoing transformation, it can still raise their potential.

Just because we can't handle dragon hunting now doesn't mean we can't handle it later.

And from today onwards, he is also a mind-based superhuman.
"Snap!" A snap of the fingers, and the echo lingered around the finger.

He also enjoyed playing with the simple psychic abilities; it was a special feeling of distorting reality with consciousness.

"Boom!" But suddenly, the "earth" seemed to tremble slightly.

"Save me. My kind, save me!" Something he had never felt before flashed through Rean's bloodline. The first thing he heard after acquiring the Mind Profession was a cry for help coming from beneath his feet.
