Chapter 169 Military Encirclement and Suppression
Su Wanqing sat in a corner of the hall, re-examining the list in her hand.

She collected the last set of reports, manually deactivated all communication passwords, leaving only the internal loop.

Lin Che placed the girl with the childlike voice next to the spare medical kit and asked in a low voice, "Should we wake Ye up? He can run faster."

Su Wanqing pressed the timer on her wrist twice without looking up: "Not for now, it's not urgent yet."

Lin Che raised an eyebrow, stuffed several syringes tightly into the girl's small backpack, and then wrapped his coat around her shoulders.

The girl didn't say anything, and quietly watched him work.

At three in the morning, Xiao Ran backed up from the corridor into the lobby and whispered, "Southeast alert activated. At least three teams are approaching from the abandoned entrances on the west and north sides. Exits are blocked, and the surrounding terrain is under control."

Lu Zhao stared at the screen as lines of code scrolled by rapidly: "The remaining ventilation shafts on the south side just had their chains broken. The outer infrared sensors were also completely cut off; the operation was very aggressive."

Xiao Ran took off his hat, his face hardening coldly: "I probed the south side, and there were people watching the disguised exit. It doesn't seem like a regular patrol; it's a regular tactical unit in action."

Su Wanqing's eyelids twitched slightly, but she didn't say anything more and pulled out her backup plan book.

"The relocation plan is to be activated on the spot. All groups, prepare to enter the underground waterway within fifteen minutes."

Lin Che looked at the girl with the childlike voice and said softly, "No one can be left behind tonight. You stay close to me."

Xiao Ran nodded: "The explosive points are ready. As soon as the order is given, I will detonate them in sequence to give you the biggest opening."

Lu Zhao connected the data terminal to the external hard drive, quickly copied the latest data, and then deleted the original traces: "Backup enabled, two copies on different lines, one with me, one for Lin Che, and disable internet access."

Xiao Ran pulled up the spare power box, stuffed the three decoy devices into his satchel, and pressed the shoulder straps tightly against his back.

He touched the detonator in his pocket, then turned around and checked it twice more: "Wait for me to give the first signal before you move. Don't join in the chaos."

Su Wanqing glanced around, glancing at Xiao Ran and Lin Che, then waved to Lu Zhao.

"Respect your respective posts. Use the files from early morning for the serial number and password, and make sure there are no mistakes."

Lin Che calmly placed his hand in the girl's palm, letting her play with the pendant.

She shrank back and nodded at him.

The atmosphere grew increasingly tense, with the sound of orderly footsteps and approaching armored vehicles coming from outside, followed by the blaring of loudspeakers.

"I am Major General Fang. Dr. Zheng has handed over the evidence that you are harboring rebels. You must immediately lay down your arms, surrender unconditionally, and hand over the special experimental subjects. Otherwise, you will bear the consequences!"

No one made a sound in the hall except for the low hum of the computer motherboards and the sound of rapid breathing.

As Xiao Ran pressed the detonator into the base, he whispered, "I'll block the south side. First, I'll set up half a set of smoke grenades and a signal source to draw their attention to that side."

Su Wanqing said decisively, "The girl will go with Lin Che and Lu Zhao to lead the charge, the middle route will follow the same plan, and I will bring up the rear."

Lin Che looked around to see where the sound was coming from, then his gaze fell on the girl. He pulled over a small blanket and said to her, "Hold on tight to me, don't run around. There's no place for you here."

Lu Zhao set all device screens to a frozen state and disconnected all peripherals.

"Communications are completely shut down. Wait for a signal."

Xiao Ran had already infiltrated the southern passage. He sent out a short flash of light and casually threw out the first set of explosives.

A deafening roar erupted across the west wing of the base, smoke billowed up the stairwells, and alarms and automatic door-locking devices sounded incessantly. Lin Che pulled the girl with the childlike voice and tucked her into the safest spot in the queue, his other hand gripping the girl's waist strap tightly.

A few minutes later, Xiao Ran detonated two more sets of smoke grenades. The fake target program was uploaded to the monitoring host, and the on-site images showed the team breaking out towards the north warehouse.

Su Wanqing remembered the division of labor and used hand gestures to instruct everyone to line up in order.

She walked to the entrance of the underground sewer shelter area, entered two sets of passwords, and pushed open the final passage door.

The underground sewers were cold and cramped, and the sound of water splashing up with the soles of shoes was mixed with the faint, trembling breaths of fear.

Lin Che held the girl tightly to his side, occasionally looking down and asking, "Can you still walk?"

The girl nodded. Her voice was delicate, and she suddenly leaned closer to Su Wanqing calmly: "Teacher, actually, there's a house in the suburbs that looks like a castle. I saw it a long time ago, and it's very safe."

Su Wanqing paused slightly and asked, "Where?"

The girl bit her lip and spoke slowly: "In the mountains of the Northwest, along the old road beside the reservoir, go through three tunnels, and then keep going up through the dense trees. It's hidden there. There's a yellow marker stone and an abandoned parking lot on the other side of the mountain."

Su Wanqing read those sentences twice, silently memorizing them. She thought for a moment, how could this girl, who had never left the base, describe things so clearly?

As she led the way, her heart gradually calmed down.

Lu Zhao carried a heavy bag, and as he moved, he shouted, "Faster! The satellite interference only lasts for an hour. Everyone keep up!"

Xiao Ran launched a timed flare from a distance and placed the remaining decoys into the waterway branch line one by one.

He turned his head slightly and lowered his voice: "There's a double entrance at the very front. I'll leave the signal generators there. The rest of you can figure out the way yourselves."

Major General Fang's megaphone reached the subway shaft entrance: "You are surrounded. The entire underground system is sealed off; no one can escape. Final ultimatum: hand over the girl immediately!"

Su Wanqing ignored them and turned from the main channel to the right-hand branch channel.

Lin Che took out a signal jammer and stuffed it into the mud pile. He glanced back and said, "They'll try to block that way. Come on, follow me."

The group moved in following the coded signals, while the sound of collapses and explosions echoed from the top of the waterway, occasionally punctuated by the distant sounds of charging enemies.

Lu Zhao took a breath of water and leaned against the wall again as he walked along the dimly lit passage: "There's an old maintenance well about 30 meters to the left. You can get out from there."

Xiao Ran has already detonated all the fingerprint traps and backup directional mines.

He turned back and gestured to Su Wanqing. The team quickly crossed the well and advanced continuously along the branching waterway.

The bombings continuously delayed the military's offensive, and amidst the smoke and false signals, the three divisions of the army were all led to misaligned exits.

The main squad located a decoy target, completely unaware that the real troops had emerged from underground and broken through the defensive line.

All the team members followed, except for Xiao Ran, who had some minor injuries. He successfully covered the rear of the team, and all the decoy devices had been used up.

Before dawn, Su Wanqing took one last look back and whispered, "The migration plan is complete. Moving on to the next phase."

The girl with the childlike voice reached out and tugged at Su Wanqing's sleeve, then looked up and repeated, "Teacher, the place in the mountains is real, I can feel it... there's light there. Let's go there."

Su Wanqing patted her hair, "I know. You're right, let's leave here first."

Without stopping, the team followed the route described by the girl, passing through the suburbs along the old canal and then splitting into three groups, disappearing into the darkness after the rain.
