Chapter 137 Conditions of Cooperation
Following the coordinates provided by Ye, Su Wanqing arrived at an abandoned underground parking lot.

A damp, musty smell filled the air, and a few emergency lights cast a dim glow, barely illuminating the gloomy space.

"This is the place where the rebels agreed to meet us." Night's voice echoed in her mind, its tone as calm as ever.

“I have scanned the surrounding area and found no obvious threats. But the rebels are not easy to deal with, so it’s best to be cautious.”

"I know," Su Wanqing replied softly, her gaze sweeping around her.

Apart from a few rusty vehicles and scattered debris, the place was deserted.

Not long after, a man in a black military uniform walked over with several soldiers.

The man was tall and imposing, with a cold and stern face and eyes that exuded a chilling aura of authority.

"Su Wanqing, it's a pleasure to have you here." Allen's voice was deep and magnetic as he scrutinized Su Wanqing with a critical gaze.

"I've heard of you; you're young, promising, and quite courageous."

“Mr. Allen, it’s a pleasure to sit down and talk with you.” Su Wanqing tried her best to remain calm, her tone showing no fear whatsoever.

Allen gestured for his men to bring over a folding table and a few chairs, and then sat down himself.

“My people told me that you possess a technology that can combat the zombie virus, and you also have a large amount of supplies.”

“Mr. Allen is very well-informed.” Su Wanqing smiled slightly, without denying it.

"We have indeed mastered some methods to combat the virus and stockpiled some supplies, but this is not enough to change the overall apocalyptic situation."

“I understand,” Allen nodded. “But I believe that as long as we work together, we can find a way to completely solve the virus and rebuild this world.”

"Cooperation?" Su Wanqing raised an eyebrow. "What are Mr. Allen's terms for cooperation?"

Allen took a document from his pocket and placed it on the table. "This is a kill list that our rebels have. The list contains individuals who may threaten our rule."

He paused, then continued, "We are willing to share this list with you as leverage for our cooperation."

"A shared kill list?" Su Wanqing's tone turned cold.

"Mr. Allen, are you trading human lives for our technology?"

“It’s a mutually beneficial exchange,” Allen said calmly.

“We provide intelligence, you provide technology. In this way, we can fight the zombies together and consolidate our rule.”

The voice of the night echoed in Su Wanqing's mind: "He wants to use us to eliminate dissidents and consolidate his own power."

Su Wanqing took a deep breath and tried her best to control her emotions.

“Mr. Allen, your conditions are too harsh. We will not sacrifice innocent people to save ourselves.”

"It seems you're not willing to cooperate." Allen's eyes sharpened.

"Cooperation is based on fairness and impartiality," Su Wanqing said.

“We are willing to share our technology with the rebels, but you must guarantee the safety of the people on the list.”

“That’s impossible,” Allen refused outright. “We cannot tolerate anyone who threatens our rule.”

"Therefore, there is no need for us to continue our negotiations."

After Su Wanqing finished speaking, she got up to leave.

"Wait a minute," Allen called out to her. "Perhaps we can make some adjustments."

He paused for a moment, then said, “We can exchange one person from the list for your existing jade bracelet technology data.”

Su Wanqing stopped and turned around, her gaze fixed on Allen.

"Jade bracelet technology?"

“That’s right.” Allen nodded. “We are very interested in the jade bracelet you have. It can generate all sorts of resources, which are crucial to us. As long as you hand over the technical data of the jade bracelet, we can let one person on the list go.”

The voice of the night rang out again: "A very dangerous suggestion. He may have known the value of the jade bracelet all along."

Alarm bells rang in Su Wanqing's mind. Allen's proposal seemed like a concession, but in reality, he was coveting the power of the jade bracelet.

"If we hand over the technical data of the jade bracelet to him, we will lose our only guarantee of survival." Su Wanqing said coldly. "Mr. Allen, your request is too much."

"We will never give you the technical data for the jade bracelet."

"It seems you really don't want to cooperate." Allen's tone hardened.

"We can cooperate, but it must be done on the principles of fairness and impartiality."

Su Wanqing said, “We can share some basic techniques with you, but the technical data for the jade bracelet is absolutely non-negotiable. In exchange, you must guarantee the safety of everyone on the list and stop oppressing the survivors.”

“You’re too naive,” Allen sneered. “In this apocalypse, only power is the only truth.”

If you do not obey me, then you will become my enemy.

"So what?" Su Wanqing's tone also became firm.

"We will not be intimidated by any threat."

"Alright, in that case, let's go our separate ways." Allen stood up, ready to leave.

"Wait." Night's voice suddenly rang in Su Wanqing's mind.

"Pretend to cooperate."

Su Wanqing was slightly taken aback, not understanding Ye's meaning.

"Pretend to agree to his conditions and find out his intentions. We need time now to find Jiang Yun and uncover the rebels' plot."

Night explained, "As long as we remain vigilant and are prepared to withdraw at any time, there won't be too much risk."

Su Wanqing nodded. Ye's suggestion was very reasonable. When lacking sufficient strength, feigning cooperation was the best strategy.

“Mr. Allen, I agree to your terms,” Su Wanqing said.

“We can give you the technical data of the jade bracelet. In exchange, you must guarantee the safety of everyone on the list.”

A satisfied smile spread across Allen's face. "Very good, I knew you would make a wise choice."

“However, I have one additional condition,” Su Wanqing said.

"Before handing over the technical data to you, I need to personally verify the authenticity of this list and make sure you do not harm the people on the list."

Allen frowned. "You're being too cautious."

“Caution is necessary,” Su Wanqing said. “After all, we are conducting an important transaction, and we must ensure that nothing goes wrong.”

Allen paused for a moment, then nodded. "Alright, I agree to your request. You can personally verify the authenticity of the list and oversee our operations."

"Also, I would like to arrange for a few people to enter your base to assist you in analyzing technical data," Su Wanqing continued.

Allen's eyes hardened. "You're asking for too much."

"This is simply to ensure the security of technical data and prevent it from being leaked."

Su Wanqing explained, "Our staff will strictly abide by your regulations and will not interfere in your internal affairs."

After hesitating for a moment, Allen finally agreed to Su Wanqing's request.

Just then, Xiao Ran suddenly let out a low, furious roar. "Allen, you're nothing but a cold-blooded executioner! You use human lives to gain profit; you're utterly depraved!"

Su Wanqing quickly stopped Xiao Ran with a look. She knew that Xiao Ran was very competitive and easily impulsive.

At crucial moments in negotiations, it is essential to remain calm and rational.

Although Xiao Ran was very dissatisfied, he held back and just glared fiercely at Allen.

Lin Che stood beside Su Wanqing with no expression on his face, but Su Wanqing keenly sensed the unusual emotional fluctuations emanating from him.

He seemed to be suppressing the disturbances of "night," which made her somewhat worried.

“Alright,” Allen said. “Then we’ll do as you say. Tomorrow, we’ll have someone deliver the list to you and allow your personnel to enter our base.”

"Very good." Su Wanqing nodded. "I hope we can cooperate happily."

Allen smirked coldly, but remained silent.
